As for the rest, I've read more stories of people having greater success on PC with DS4 controllers. I believe (?) even Re-Spawn and CrazyCanuck said similar things? Moving forward lets hope HB changes code or engines. The current state of affairs is seriously flawed imo. This is easily the worst iteration of the game in my eyes, and this is coming from someone who can go low in any game setting.
The question really was why is the game is so much harder on a series X than a PC with the same controller. The polling rates are the same, the series X framerates should be good also. I have seen Xbox players jump to PC using the same controller and the scores are so much better with PC. Tbh I know a lot of people that prefer the Xbox controller. Also without going through calibration technique s that make the game easier. It seems that the game is better for DS4 not plugged in as I would rather the accuracy of my own swing, rounding off is rubbish and artificial. I would use the DS4 with Bluetooth as I want the game to represent my swing more but I can't get on with it. I would probably use a mouse with a polling rate of 1000 as that is super sensitive to your swing outcomes but I can't get on with that either.

The game plays ok for me on my series x I find I’ve got two points of perfect must have just got lucky, the other two points are grey slow and fast. Outside of that I get the odd red fast usually out of nowhere, I can’t explain them and red slows that are usually down to me because my thumb slips of the stick. Splash out of bunkers I don’t generally get a lot of trouble with but I don’t always hit it close. I’ve also tried to learn partial pitches with limited success when you pull it off it feels great. I’ve never been one of the top players of this game although I was improving on 2019 then they brought the new game out and set me back to square one again.

Practice those partial pitches Les, it becomes like putts after a while for feeling the distance. Make sure you have a forgiving LW in your bag, my Taylor Made 60 degree is 53 yards for pitching and is optimal for me and I just know that distance feel around the greens., have used it from release day The best way to practice the shot is hit the chipping green and use auto mulligan it you hit it close then move on to another distance and do the same. It is more forgiving now tempo wise also, just seems easier to hit the tempo. That Taylor Made 60 degree is very good for 80 ,to 90 yard full shots also. Really satisfying holing pitch shots in this game, unfortunately we can't say the same for chipping which is ridiculously easy at times.

Also I have to say there isn't a competitive E Sports gamer that would turn on vsync. It is obvious this game is tied to framerates. People complain about tempo issues because of certain courses that are laggy because of planting. There is no option to turn of off vsync on consoles. I noticed a bad laggyness to the game when I turned on vsync I also noticed that I couldn't hit all the same points as when I turned it off when my frames were synced with my monitor. I play the game on a 5ms monitor with G-Sync with framerates of 70 to 90fps, so I am getting way less latency and none of the crap you get when your framerates can't hit the vsnyc cap. Vsync even causes latency when your framerates are above the the 60hz setting. HB should at least give the option to turn it off, I would like to see the performance on Xbox with a VRR TV.

When I’m playing practice rounds I always use the partial pitch for anything around about 40yds and in, not confident enough in a tgc round yet though.

Finished first on xbox in the last Special event!
Also finished 54th overall in the last special event.
That's crazy. Not sure why we bother with TGC anymore. It's literally a completely different game for us.

No Xbox here =/, so I can't verify!
For some clarification before moving forward - As we all know, IRL Tempo is the total combination of your backswing and downswing combined. This is false on PS4, where Tempo begins to be measured starting at the exact, and earliest moment the game registers a forward motion with the analog stick. The analog stick can travel approximately 5mm forward before stopping, however, through testing I believe only the first 25% of motion matters, or around 1.25mm of press. The rest of the forward motion simply finalizes swing plane, sometimes giving us some weird feedback if we continue pressing forward too long, especially when combined with slight left and right slides of the stick. I guess a lot depends on what you classify as "transition". On PS4 backswing has no impact whatsoever. There's no need to try and match back/forward, or any similar ratio's or timings. On PS4 Tempo = Forward Analog Stick Speed. Maybe Xbox truly gets shafted in literally, every single area of this game that matters!! =/ PS4 registers every 4 ticks and Xbox every 8 ticks (controller governor!), so if everything does happens in the initial 1.25mm of motion, then yeah, big disadvantage for Xbox.
I think there’s a little asterisk to that in that if you partially pull the stick back, as in just enough for the club to pull back but the animation moves the backswing slower, you’ll get a slow even if you slam forward. So in that aspect the backswing does matter, but nobody would actually play like that lol.

booze2407 Nope o_!! It probably just seems this way because you don't have as much "wind up room" to complete your swing. If someone always used exactly 10 Foot pounds of pressure from position 0 to +5, and that always took them exactly 10 seconds to complete, then their Tempo at 100% intent would be exactly the same for every single shot type. Backswing, regardless of technique used, has no effect.
p.s. Update your clubs to Purple!

Really?! It definitely seemed like it was slow no matter what, but I’ll have to try again! lol but I love the baby wedges! I don’t think I can live without them. edit - you are correct, you can hit perfect even pulling back on the stick slightly. It does seem like I need to push up way harder, but that’s probably just due to smaller windup like you said.

Not sure if others have experienced a change (for the better!) in tempo. have played 5 rounds over the last 36hrs and I'm hitting more perfects than ever before! Yay! Partial pitches and chipping also feel more consistent. I'm actually finding I'm hitting dead centre perfects and left of centre. Maybe 1 or 2 right of centres? (And this is all after recalibrating for the first time in over 3 months where immediately after recalibrating I could only hit perfects 1 or 2 out of every 10.)
My other observation is that RFs and RSs are not as severely punished in terms of loss of distance. They are still punished, as they should be, but I sense the loss of distance is now fair. E.G. on a par 5 of say 520m where I could hit driver and 3W/3H if i hit a RF/RS it will be a genuine 3-shot hole as it should be.
So x2 things have changed without any intervention on my part.
Interested to hear others thoughts.
(Hoping it remains this way because based on what I've experienced over 5 rounds I feel confident I can have a crack at playing Masters.)
Cheers

I did a quick test on the 295D and nothings changed. The smallest RF still carries 255, while the smallest RS carries 262.

I use to love playing in the DAM society but since the nerfing of the swing I have since given it up...... and it looks like many other XB players have also. This list has always been full..... now only 5 players competed! This says a lot to me about the changes and how awful they truly are. This is no way a refection on the DAM society at all.
