Look at the grid as a combination of open/closed face, swing path, grip down, weight distribution, ball position, high/low follow through etc. all the different things that can be done to alter distance and trajectory while still hitting a full swing.
It's still a bit exaggerated in game, but being able to dial in a trajectory is very much real.

Yeah definately so, it's just the shot cone size for chip, pitch and flop shots that need to be altered I feel and also a tweak to the mechanic that brings in duffed shots and skulls across the green. This is the biggest fear in real life and why players like the great Seve and Phil for that matter are so great. The practice they put in around the greens truly make them great to watch as their confidence is second to none in this area, in game my confidence is also as high as there is little punishment for poor execution IMO.

Who was complaining about too sloped greens being totally unrealistic? Watch Padraig Harrington's latest tweet: Busiest yardage book of the year. Still adding notes every time I play Augusta. No course is as complicated.

Yeah I went through his entire book. The designer got very close to most of the greens.

I'm not 100% sure it was Paddy's but I was doing some google searches and saw someone had published his yardage book out there.
