So even the "Beer League" has no putt meter? Message received: casual and less-skilled players are obviously not welcome anymore. This is really sad. Completely untrue, but nice attitude. It's 100% true. I'm a casual player, but there's no place for me now. And that sucks. @!$# you, and @!$# your attitude.

just a quick question - if we begin qualifying, i believe there is NO putting meter, correct? you have to figure out the % yourself? or am i wrong? and if so - can someone point me towards tips for learning that style of putting? i've been playing "pga tour mode" and using the master difficulty, and though i am struggling, i have began to make some progress. however, i believe it gives me a target putting % to hit every time. i'm not sure what happens if this goes off - will i be putting the ball into lakes?!? let me know any thoughts or tips - i'll appreciate it! -kev xboxone: goalie1525 I never use the Putt Meter in any game. As they said above, watch the head of your putter and get used how far to pull it back.

I think they could help us a lot if we only had 1 putter distance instead of 3 or 4 of them

I'm on M&K, so vibration was never an option. I went out to the Distance Control course in the game and charted out what percentage was needed for each distance on each green speed. I use that to figure out what percentage I need to get to the cursor distance, then rely on practice to know how far to let the animation go to get the desired percentage for the putt. I still can mess it up of course - try for 35%, accidentally get 42% and such, but overall, I'm putting fairly well now. I have been doing something similar. Wrote down the percentages for putting on 5y, 10y, 15y... all the way up to 100y. But it dosen't make sense, right? 5y:23% , 10y:30% , 15y:34% , 20y:38% , 25y:41% 30y:44% , 35y:46%. I don't get the logic of that. Can someone explain this to me? For now I have to go with af papersheet on my desk to play a videogame... I thought the same about the distances at first, but it does make sense. Shorter putts are easier, by having 7 percent between 5' and 10', you have a large margin for error on the percentage. Long putts are hard. When you get to, say the difference between 95' and 100' on moderate greens, the difference is only 2 percent - 73 vs 75. This makes distance control harder on long putts, which is true IRL as well. I know some other folks who print out charts, so you're not the only one. I personally run a spreadsheet on my second monitor. One worksheet has putting distances, the other has a 'plays as' shot distance calculator.

But isn’t % a pretty misleading way to describe it? 50% of the 154ft putter should be 77 and not like 40 as it is now. It’s just not logical. But I will keep my sheet then

Here's a graph for putting on Moderate (144) greens: Nevermind, imgur link isn't working for whatever reason...

I'm a fan of the vibration. Some have written it off, which I get, I was a very effective feel putter in 2019 but I don't think you can argue with the vibration literally telling you this is exactly how long your backswing needs to be for where your marker is on this speed of greens. That's invaluable.
The tricky part is implementing it. It's also only as good as your marker distance is, although I find default distance to be grenade-close most of the time. In reality, if you take a putting stroke and start your downswing when you feel the vibration your putt will go too far. The perfect putt distance is when your downswing begins the moment before the vibration hits. This is more and more true and more and more sensitive to over/under-doing it the longer the putt. I actually intentionally wait for the vibration on short putts now to hit it a little firmer and take out some of the break. On most putts though where I'm trying for a "perfect", or white % feedback I'll take 3-5 rehearsal backswings where I pull the stick back but don't push it forward and I'll feel the vibration with each rehearsal. A full practice swing would obviously be even more ideal but no one's got that kind of time, and it would be really annoying to play with someone doing that. The rehearsals are quick, I did the same thing in 2019 I just didn't have vibration telling me when I had it right. Ideally on my last rehearsal I'll barely feel the buzz and be just about spot on with my distance. My actual stroke to hit the ball I'm aiming to push forward the millisecond before the vibration is about to come. It's not easy, takes practice, and doesn't guarantee decimal-perfect speed every time, but neither does feel....quite frankly it would be overpowered if it did.

You have to free yourself from the assistance . The game is way better without it. It will make you a better player and it's way more fun.

Brand new to the game/board. Used to play Tiger Woods on PS2 in college. CoVid came - got hooked on the WGT Golf Game on the phone for a couple months, and then bought this game in August. So addicting-GF has no idea how much we play/stay up at night...when i play golf in real life i have the music in this game in my head-i guess i need help. Anyway, ive been playing on all the pro settings-and the barstool society events. Joined this group, and the Beer League Society...wow-the first round without the swing meter/power %/putting meter, that was a rough one...by now, i'm pretty used to the drives/irons/chipping without the meters...just look at your player swinging, but putting is still a WIP...the first world problem i have now, is that there are other events on good courses out there - with settings that have the meters back on-but i don't want to go back to playing with the meter because that will lose any progress made by putting/driving/chipping in events where the meters are off

At first I worried it would hurt me after I got used to putting the with meter off two weeks ago...but it turns out that playing with so many governors on makes it a very different game. It also provides me with confidence that I can hit good partial swings and it lets me see what those distances are like with splash, flop, and pitch shots. I'm never going to go to the range to work out what the various partial swing distances look so I consider that other society my range time. Now I get to look at TGCT as training for the True Sim Tour that kicked my butt this morning!

So I just picked up the game this afternoon and played a couple of rounds with pretty much everything shut off. To say the least, I found the putting a bit difficult at first...
