i just want to thank everyone for checking in and posting here. after reading a number of tips, i have begun to get a bit better. i actually managed an even par round to open qualifying. i was very pleasantly surprised! Little tip as this helped with my distance control for putts, now one of the strongest part of my game and I don't use green grids. Click the left stick when putting, you get a raised camera. You can see the putter head distance to the ball much more clearly, much easier to judge distance for shorter putts especially . I set this as my default putting camera, it's called full camera.

my putting has just simply gotten better with the more rounds i play.
i try to "practice swing" by bringing the stick back a few times, trying to estimate the "rumble" - then i go for it.
it took some time - and tough greens and pin placements are (well...) TOUGH.

I'm using the avatars elbow position in connection with rumble. Just have to find the right shirt...I have pretty much bought out the shop.

I will not use that rumble crutch. Seems almost legal cheating - why not put your big boy pants on and take off the rumble.

Sorry to say, putting is by far the easiest part of the game for me, tbh. No meter, no rumble. XBox. Now, I still underhit uphill long putts, but that's 'me'. So far, not many 187 speed greens under my belt, though. Mostly see 159-174 showing up, with the occasional 110 to mess with me. If I could just get on in regulation a little more often ... make those 1.5pph rounds pay off.

anyone notice on ps4 (today) that the putting (no meter) seems....off? as in it moves "slower"? maybe it's just me...when i first turned off the meter's so i could get used to it/compete in the beer league, it was a big learning curve, and i kept bombing short putts...eventually got the hang of it...but today i played a round, and i was leaving everything wicked short...turned on the meter..and it looks like it was moving slower on the backswing....maybe it's just a fluke, but wanted to know if anyone else was experiencing this on the ps4

Hopped on for a quick round this evening and wow! The putter moves very slow now. It was jarring. I was confused because I didn't see a patch, apparently it was a server side update?
Just when I felt like I'd gotten used to the "new" putting, they take us back to TGC19 speeds. I wish it was an option, but back to the practice green I go...
