I have a friend who's looking like he's going to end up near the bottom of Platinum. Seems like that's about the worst place you can end up because he's not ever going to have a chance to win, but I guess that's the downside of making it to the top tour! I'll be perfectly content ending up in a tour with players around my skill somewhere in CC. Has there ever been any consideration for grouping the top top of the bunch players into their own "super platinum" type tour? Seems like it really sucks if you're good enough for platinum and can't go out there and shoot -12 to -15 every round. I briefly played TGCTours back in TGC2 so I'm not too familiar with how this all works. I would imagine the same four or five guys win every tournament on the former PGA, right? I was thinking about this as I've seen it mentioned a few times. Is it worth setting up some sort of unofficial "Rivals" side competition through the forum for people in this situation? Find players that score around you and have a mini competition to see who can finish highest each week? It would be easy to set up and wouldn't need any extra admin, and could keep things interesting for those who are struggling to hit the top scores. It won't be me, I have a way to go to hit the top tour, but worth considering?

How does the median look for each platform? Just want to make sure there aren’t outliers skewing the xb1 average I don't think outliers can much explain away the Top 300 stat where PC is playing roughly the same as the amount of players, but PS4 is playing better and XB1 is playing worse. What was the breakdown in PGA/Euro last game? 15% Xbox representation seems like an improvement, but maybe that is just perception. A lot can change in the next week!

I'm currently sitting at 1651. I really wish I would have taken a break after round 2 like I wanted when i was -4 like I wanted. Instead I decided to grind out the last two rounds and now sit at +11. Going to really need to do well in the next event. Round 1 and 2 were 29 putts each. Round 3 and 4 were 34 putts each. Woof. I think you'll move up quite a few spots from either people finally posting their unfinished rounds or from not finishing at all. Guessing you'll be in the 1500's come tomorrow night when the 2nd event starts.

The good news is the +5 was my last round after I really took a look at my technique and practiced a lot with it. Hopefully my next four rounds are better as well, but will take a major miracle for me. Still fun and will keep improving (I didn't play previous versions).

Some of you guys have touched on this. I have no desire to be on the Platinum Tour. First place is -51 and T-141 (last place to be on that tour) is -25. That is a gulf of 26 strokes. That is insane! Obviously awesome job for the guys at top. Not taking anything away.
Instead, look at the Euro cutoff. T-159 is -24 an d T-285 is -18. That is a gulf of 6 strokes. That is awesome to see from a competitive standpoint.

Shame for us xboxers but I will not pass over to the dark side . With the strength given to me my Lord Microsoft I will banish these demons :-) I will never banish!

Fairly consistent after a horror first round. +2, -3, -5, -4 for a -10 and tied in 540.
Last year a made the European Tour and just got battered week in week out so I'd definitely welcome being in a lower tour so I can enjoy competing in tournaments.

Towards the end PGA had 2 or 3 on Xbox, maybe 2% compared to 30% overall. But maybe people on xbox just aren't that good to begin with. I only knew a handful on Xbox that were any good in Tiger and this was WAY back before Golf Club existed. Most of them migrated to PC and I guess a few went to PS4 later on. PS4 has always had more talent imo and now that maybe 40% of players are on PS4, obviously the chances to have better players increases when there's a larger player pool.

It's true that a lot of the top Xbox players (on this site at least) have migrated elsewhere since TGC1. The last game we very clearly were at quite a significant disadvantage. Seems to me that gap may or may not still be there but at the very least it has narrowed in this game. Which obviously is good news ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) It's very easy to shoot a bad round and blame your console. Those top 20 or 30 on the leaderboard have been shooting great scores since TGC1, comparing a bad round on Xbox to what those guys are shooting makes no sense. There are almost 3000 people on that leaderboard, I'm ahead of an AWFUL LOT of PS4 players, who are struggling just the same as the rest of us. And as for not wanting to qualify for the top tour, I don't get that either? That was me during TGC1 and 2, I was in the top flight. Never had a realistic chance of winning but I took pride in being in the top level of TGCT and making cuts, which I did quite frequently. Had a top 10 once, my second daughter was born 9 months later! Why would you not want to be the best you can be?

The last game with Master clubs was terrible on Xbox. This one if going for perfects is very slightly better but the thing that might even things out is the fast swing. Much easier to hit fairly consistently and negates the wayward tempo on Xbox. I've come round to it late, wasted a lot of time trying for perfects.

It's all about not over swinging. If you can find that sweet spot to start the forward swing the 'perfect window' is much easier to hit. I have nothing against those using the fast swing, it's a legit shot in my books and I do it from time to time, but in general it's not for me.

I have nothing against those using the fast swing, it's a legit shot in my books and I do it from time to time, but in general it's not for me. I keep changing my mind on trying for perfects all the time, some of the time, or rarely... currently I employ the following strategy (says the guy ranked in the low 200’s on the Q leaderboard) Driver off the tee, decent wind left to right - Play for the fast. Driver off the tee, decent wind right to left - Play for perfect aim so a perfect will hit right side of fairway (I.e. give leeway for accidental fast) Driver off tee head wind, tail wind, low side wind - play for perfect aiming for right side of fairway (pray for no slow) With drives another influence is water to the left of the fairway. For that I aim way right and go for the fast. Instead of risking an accidental fast into the water. Approach shot - woods/hybrids/irons - all depends on if needing distance between clubs - if so down club and go for fast. Partial swing not an option. Approach shot -wedges- pitches - mostly try for slight fast. Never try for perfect because an accidental slow is death in this game when pitching. Flop shot - don’t even bother - too hard to execute and no advantage over pitch or splash. Between 50-60 yards - rather do fast splash than try for perfect lofted pitch - you get an accidental slow that damn ball ends up20yds short and 10 yards right. Overall my FIR is now around 80-85% and GIR in the low to mid 70s. And getting better. But PPR is still a major issue for me. Just cannot get confident - I employ the back and slam forward method. Still can’t seem to hit them straight enough when I have a realistic birdie putt

Lots of people on the leaderboards only played one round so if they’re removed because they don’t complete the first event then a lot of us will be moving up. Don’t despair if you’ve had a poor first tournament
