Does anyone know what the course is going to be for the Ghostbreaker? Can see assigned courses on the Beer League schedule

Sigh. +16 through one round. Double-bogey on 1 and I just couldn't get the right pace for putting (I think I four-putt on 1, kept hitting it too weakly and then I was overhitting it from hole 2 onward).
I guess playing round 2 does my part to enlarge the field and potentially get another person through the cut (since it obviously won't be me seeing the final two rounds!)

Yes, my rounds tend to start off fairly well, but I will eventually run into a NASCAR-style pile up further down the road. My game is improving and I'm enjoying the tournament though I doubt that I will make the cut which is sitting at +6. I'll have to shoot at a minimum -1, it's possible, but unlikely. I'm primed to give it a go and see what happens...Post a Score! as the mantra goes.

The weather report for the Beer League says white tees then all black. However the tees continue to be all white tees. Because of this I hit the ball over the green into the water TWICE on the short par four with water behind before I realized the round was still on white tees. I had practiced with the black tees and had no reason to look at what the tees were again based on the weather report. I am now +13 through two rounds instead of +5 because of this error. If I were you I would void cuts in the tournament now because of this error.

Well I defied all personal logic for round 2...shot -3! Was -6 going into the 18th but misread a 6ft putt for par and gagging for a 7. Lost three f'ing strokes on that one hole! So now sitting with +4 for a total. Cut line is currently at +7 so I might make the cut if it holds out.

Regardless of the tee set ups, you should be playing your shots either two ways: carry and roll distance of your club that you use with wind and elevation factored in, or the actual distance to the hole based on wind and elevation. How do you know that you would be sitting at +5? True, if the shot was played appropriately you might have birdied or parred, but the opposite could also be true that you would have landed on the green and still have bogey or worse. BTW, I was expecting high winds for Rd 1, per the weather report, but it was low winds instead, that did not effect my score of +7 as I achieved that by missing putts and failing to convert makeable birdie putts. That was all on me, not the course scheduler.

I take into account wind and elevation but mainly I play by Practiced Hole. I trust that the outcome of good shots I took during practice from specific locations is going to be the same in the tournament. There are also MOVED TEES in this tournament. All tee locations with the same color should be the same on the default course and the tournament. This causes a huge problem for me because then my practiced shots are not correct.

Putting just seemingly changed for me for no reason also. I just finished this tournament at +31 mainly because the putting animation was changed with the latest update. Without the putter following through automatically I no longer know how hard I am going to hit the putt even with stopping at the vibration. Or better said it seemed to me the putt release point changed.

Round 3 at Mallory National, +2 for the round, +6 for the tourney. Shot -1 on the front, but just could not get anything done on the back, either birdie or bogey, not one par to be had (3 birdies, 6 bogeys). Just meh with a helping of mild frustration. That damn 18th hole, again bogey, but made sure that I had only that and nothing more, ala, round 2.
Yes, there appears to be a putting difference as well as total swing tempo change with all clubs. Personally the tempo has somewhat reverted back to what it was prior to the first HB patch...at least for me. The putting change is not a total big deal as I was adapting as I went along.
So +2 is still satisfying in the end...remember it could always be worse. Plan to finish Rd 4 later this evening. I'm determine to conquer to conquer the 18th hole!

Finished Rd4 last night...+4...+10 overall. That's ok, the pin positions were dicey. Took my first water ball of the tourney on the 17th swallowing a disappointing triple. Missed opportunities for birdies...most of you are familiar with this. So what about that damned 18th hole that has eaten my sack lunch for the first three rounds? I parred that sucker!!!
Well so long Mallory National. I enjoyed my week. You were kind to me sometimes. I gave you the middle finger, and you gave me the finger back, but it was all good in the end.
Its on to Victoria GC!

Showed up yesterday at Victoria and played a couple of practice rounds. Nice fairways, hit most without any difficulty. The greens are a different story. A lot of drop offs channeling to bunkers. Got to land it just right, or your chipping and splashing to get back on the green to save par. Should be fun stuff!

Hey guys,
So for the stupid questions. So I’ve gone into Societies and requested membership invite to ‘The Beer League’. Is that how it works to join?
Thanks in advance

I have a question do we really need a cut line for the Beer League? If so can someone explain the purpose. I found for example if the cut line is -4 anyone below that finish their last 2 rounds and finish say -8 and that player at -4 shoots a plus 8 he continues and through the last 2 rounds and the person who finishes at a -8 but didn't make the cut I don't understand the purpose for a cut line. Since the Beer League is frowned upon why not just let us play all 4 rounds.

Thinking of joining. Currently I am in CC-F and have the potential to go -6 but I do so maybe one in 8 rounds. Just cannot get the tempo right on master swing difficulty. Does the drop down in swing difficulty make it more enjoyable because currently churning out 4 rounds a week feels like a chore.
Anyone else made the jump and found it more enjoyable?

If you are struggling with the masters swing difficulty and then go to pro you will probably enjoy it a lot. I still don’t see how some people shoot 57,58 consistently on the pro tour or even on the beer league but you will have tougher competition if you are wanting to place on the top of the leader boards. I just got better and wanted to challenge myself so just joined the circuit tour on the weekly qualifier. Master swing is tough but think I can get used to it.
