Yea - that is why I'm here. It's my first go at a TGC Tournament and I've really only played on Pro swing difficulty. I know I would have 0 chance in the other circuits, playing there an never even finishing in the top 50% is just not that attractive. I like that this league has pro swing, but still has most of the other aids turned off. It's the balance I am looking for.

My vision for this league was to be on Pro difficulty but force the top end scores to move up into Q-school or get a sponsor's exemption for CC-G. Not going to be much fun when the median score was +8 for 2 rounds and you need -49 to make the top 3... The median score for all 4 rounds AFTER the cut is -1, only 48 shots back... This problem will only get worse after more people drop Qualifying and join up here next week and the week after all qualifying is done. So basically you'll have 10-20 people competing here for wins and everyone else just posting scores to fill the leaderboard. That's definitely not my idea of fun and anyone who plays down when they are definitely capable of earning a tour card is a you know what. We won't be forcing anyone to go to the main Tours from the Beer League. We did that last season and it's not something that people want. They chose beer league because it's the swing level they want to play at. The beer league is for those that want to use the pro swing. (that's it as plain as I can type it) There's no other catches or conditions. This is absolutely fine, but how about 2 leagues, one for those shooting -39 or consistently under, and one for those that are more at par level. I reckon I can get to probably a solid 10 under in a few weeks, but the people shooting 39 under are way too good for this league. Tbh I'll probably move up to the main tour because I see no glory in being a big kid in the playground beating on the smaller kids.

These things take time and a lot of coding - I've requested it but until/if Tim is able to fit it in we'll have to make due with the extra large fields.

I had a blast so...... I love the new monetary structure. And I agree with the guys that want to split.
First. You WILL get better Second. It takes money to run this site for free. Donations REALLY help.
Just sayin

I never viewed the Beer League as a competition flight. That’s what the other pro flights are for. This is just a day on the course to work on getting better and enjoying a round. Not about score for me.

I'm sure the answer to this question is staring me in the face, but just before I started R1 of the Beer League current event I wanted to see the field size, but I couldn't see it anywhere. In fact I can't see it in any of the other societies I'm in either. In the previous game it was easy to see. It might be me, but is it hiding somewhere?
Many thanks if anyone can help :-)

It will be higher because people on the pro flights will pop in and play. Also outside peeps who found it on a search in the game could also just tee it up and play.

Without having to scroll through the leaderboard for ages, I just like to see how large the field is so that if I'm 50th, is that 50th out of 51 or 50th out of 1,000? Almost certainly the former sadly :-)

Just showed up at the clubhouse at Mallory National for my first Beer League event. Played a practice round...course looks nice. Posted a +8 due to a water bound landing, but overall pleased with my play. Putting is decent. Looking forward to round 1 later tonight. Good luck to all!

Played round 1...+7, satisfying because it could have been worse. Bogeyed the first 3 holes thinking that I had unleashed a rolling sh!t show, but settled with pars and two birdies leading to the 9th. The 9th?...double bogey dropping to +3. Settled down on the first 5 on the back nine. Pars, yet I had birdie opportunities that I failed to take advantage of...what could have been. Then shot crap on the last 4 holes with bogey golf attributed to misjudged putts.
Despite the +7, it could have been worse...it always can be worse. I'll do round 2 tomorrow and see if I can better my score. Mallory National is a nice course BTW.
