I've only played Round 1 so far...shot an even par 73. I play with more aids on when I play offline and in career mode, so there was a bit of a learning curve for me, just jumping right in and playing without a power meter and things like that. So I am pretty pleased with my score so far, even though it's way out of the range of getting me in contention at all. We shall see what the rest of the event is like.

Played the event for fun as I'm in the Q-School...shot -38 with a 59 in the 2nd round...might have to give Beer League a bit more thought

Sorry but with putting power meter off it's just too difficult for this hacker.

Played my second round last night, another even par 73. Putting without the meter will be my Achilles' heel. I am OK on the tee shots and shots from elsewhere, but on the greens I'm all over the place.

My first venture into competitive play on TGC tours... so yeah Beer League to begin with. Played ok on round one... an up and down +2. Saw the cut was around +8, and was heading up the last at +7 or so. Hooked it into the grandstand and I was trapped!!! Tried chipping out but kept hitting the railings. Tried declaring unplayable but wouldn’t give me a drop outside the stand!!! Finally it popped out in front of the stand and I ended up with a 10!... missing the cut in the process!
Anyone else seen this?

I joined Beer league yesterday and shot 5 over first round, 1 under second round. It should have been lower, but I kept getting a putting glitch. I'm plus 4 overall at the moment.
I'm wondering what people think about the fact people are 39 under. I mean surely they should be playing at a higher level? I'm probably going to be a par/slightly under player for a little while, but it's disappointing to see such a gulf in ability.

Yes it’s a bit like Man City/Bayern Munich/Juventus just hanging around in the lower leagues just cos they enjoy thrashing teams... there are always going to be some different abilities but there is a fundamental difference in the control system if some of us are hovering around par and some are birdy-ing every hole - if there was some way of at least having Beer A and Beer B, there would be a feeling that you could at least compete with others in your league. If Rory and Tiger called by my local course and I’m there shooting +20 and they are at -30 I’d soon give up... fun though! Loved seeing my score pulled through and the stats are great...

Try watching the head of the putter. I improved a lot at putting doing that, a lot of practice put in

My vision for this league was to be on Pro difficulty but force the top end scores to move up into Q-school or get a sponsor's exemption for CC-G. Not going to be much fun when the median score was +8 for 2 rounds and you need -49 to make the top 3... The median score for all 4 rounds AFTER the cut is -1, only 48 shots back... This problem will only get worse after more people drop Qualifying and join up here next week and the week after all qualifying is done. So basically you'll have 10-20 people competing here for wins and everyone else just posting scores to fill the leaderboard. That's definitely not my idea of fun and anyone who plays down when they are definitely capable of earning a tour card is a you know what.

We won't be forcing anyone to go to the main Tours from the Beer League. We did that last season and it's not something that people want. They chose beer league because it's the swing level they want to play at. The beer league is for those that want to use the pro swing. (that's it as plain as I can type it) There's no other catches or conditions.

Like myself, I can only assume that many other players in this beer league are coming over from the Challenge Circuit from TGC2019, where we had the ability to use the Pro difficulty. Unfortunately, the beer league is now the only option that allows pro clubs with PGA2k21. It's not that I/we enjoy lower competition, it's just that we enjoy playing the game on the Pro swing difficulty. I'd be the first one to jump up to the challenge circuit if it had the pro difficulty option again. I've tried masters in the old game and in this game and it just isn't enjoyable. This is just the box that many of us are stuck in with the current league settings.
