I like the spoiler section
We already know the results of the system we are playing.
However I do think the spoiler thread shouldn't start till the tournament before ends.
I'm fine with the new schedule or don't open the spoiler thread until Monday like Doyley suggested.

Having thought about it, i agree the spoiler threads should be binned. How many guys use it? 20-30 in each tour max?
If i'm honest i may have used the press tents more to tell people about my rounds if the spoiler thread didn't exist....
Schedule wise i am fine with either way, but then i'd be totally happy with Monday-Sunday tbh

Would the option of opening the events the same as it is now (Saturday) but not posting spoiler threads until Monday (after the previous week's event is finalized) be a better workaround? That's exactly what I just came in to post. It occurred to me on the drive home... |

The main thing I disliked about the overlap was having the leaderboard showing the 3rd round on Saturday, with a whole bunch of people having already completed the following week's tourney. It seemed like a lot of players go and play all the rounds on the weekend, decide that x player has won it, and then there is nothing much less to discuss during the week. And this is before the tournament is even officially open!
Having to wait until Monday to submit your results has also resulted in people forgetting and getting DQed, which is less than ideal.
Perhaps a schedule like this would work:
Saturday AM: Tourney opens & scorecards can be submitted (no leaderboard though)
Sunday AM: Press tent opens, leaderboard shows R1
Tuesday AM: R2 reveal
Thursday AM: Cut and R3 reveal
Friday AM: R4 reveal (99% of ppl will have finished)
Saturday PM: Tourney closes, leaderboard shows R4
This way, the people who can only play on Saturdays will be able to play, and people won't start talking about it until the previous tournament has finished.
As an aside, I would like it so that you can write some comments (press tent style) when you submit all your rounds. Then these are released whenever the scoreboard updates, so that there are no spoilers. I think that would increase the use of the press tent by a lot, as your round is still fresh in your memory. Might take some creative coding though.

GET RID OF THE SPOILER THREAD COMPLETELY, USE THE PRESS TENT ROUND BY ROUND, just my opinion, u can have so much fun and laughter in there plus only the rounds you have played are on view, DOYLEY, has been in our euro press tent and I do believe he had a laugh, just my thoughts.

Yes if the spoiler threads went then I would definitely use the press tent on a round by round basis

Ban the spoiler thread and anybody that cries for its existence. 
And give us our two weekends to play back, this change will only increase WD's. |

im one of those that need the Saturday start, thats my Sunday evening. if it starts on sunday, i will most likely not be able to play any rounds until Thursday, unless i get off work an hour or two early, something one never counts on, nor should they.

I like the original schedule better. I think the new one will create alot more WD's. Just my opinion.

Give back the Saturday but keep spoiler thread.
Spoiler thread starts on Monday.

Yeah, that's my point, if you take away the spoiler thread then you will get 90% of the people that posted in there posting in the press tent instead. Alot of them have already come in here and indicated as such. Like I said there will be a few unhappy but far less than those unhappy about starting on a Sunday. |
