I had high winds and low patience which isn't a good mix... Hoping I missed that cut so I don't have to endure more. The thing that makes this unrealistic in my book is the answer to this question "Does each green have multiple locations where the pin could be placed?"... I think for many holes that is a no. If you don't find that one spot on the green where the ball stops then you are off the green. My other frustration is on a couple of greens I got pretty close (around 10 feet). Tapped the ball as gentle as possible, shaved the hole and was left off the green with a chip 3 times as long. You should be able to lag a putt without going off the green. In my book yes you can take the ball away from the hole to punish shots that aren't deadly accurate, but the punishment needs to be measured, I.e. at least most of the time still on the green. It often paid to miss the green on the low side for a short uphill chip rather than slowly running to the other side of the green. Think this week was a good experiment but hoping we tone it down slightly in the future

On the plus side, next weeks course is a belter! Very much looking forward to knocking it around White Sands.

Think this week was a good experiment but hoping we tone it down slightly in the future hole 2, 8, 12, come to mind on this. hole 8 i was above the hole, had a 18 mph and really couldn't help it, I had a 24 footer, with 18 inches below, with a huge right to left break as well. I pulled the marker to 6 feet and then tapped it and the fricken ball rolled all the way off the green. I was -1 at that point and chipped up to only see the ball roll back to my feet! Taking a double, said screw this and quit. When you cannot stop the ball at all that is not good green design. there are too many holes like that on this course. The first par five, is another example where the slope doesnt allow you to lag the ball close because of the way the ball picks up speed when you end up to the right, which is practically impossible not to do when hittting the second shot into the par 5.

Didn't like the course as well. I lost 9! strokes in the first two rounds on just two holes (8 and 9). Without this mess, I would have been in the Top25. Anyway, with +6 I won't make the cut, and I like it!

I lost a lot of strokes out there on those greens, only at -3 after 2 rounds after finishing -42 for 3rd last week. HOWEVER, how can you complain about a course being too hard?! I live in NC and used to go to the U.S. Opens at Pinehurst, have you not seen these greens?! They are reverse bowls, very hard to stick it on green. You guys sound like children, play the course to the best of your ability and challenge yourself a little bit. Don't complain if you play bad, you'll start sounding like Sergio, and NOBODY likes a Sergio.

However I wasn't complaining as such...major respect for those who are taming this beast, I just don't want it to be the way of things... IMO you should not have only the hole to stop your ball from going off the green when trickling a putt, its a design decision but with the tough US Open courses coming up I think we should strive for situations where difficult as they are, its still possible to advance without first taking two steps back. I think we can do better than bowl greens, especially as many have found themselves chipping on most holes, it might be better to punish some shots with tricky 60 foot putts instead. Am a fan of the higher scores, but think tough putts should require a deft touch not a magic wand

-16 after three rounds, then a 73 to finish. SMH. I enjoyed the challenge of the course. Once you lose focus though it can go south in a hurry. Now I'm off to find my good pal Jameson who always makes me feel better.

On the plus side, next weeks course is a belter! Very much looking forward to knocking it around White Sands. I've played that course a few times. I find it a bit boring. The greens are all massive and flat. Prefer more of a challenge than that!

Agree about the greens but I like the way you have to think about your tee shots and placement of them.

Very true, not enough has been said about how good the course actually is, take away my gripe with the greens and you have an excellent course... I'm not a fan of that theme but actually it works well with this one

Tough track for sure. I played it just to see what all the hub-bub was about and shot the same score as I did on Bison Run (24-under). If you're looking to get up on the PGA or Euro Tour, the scores you shoot here match up well to this week's PGA stop so you can compare.

Since a lot didn't submit scores, only two people were cut.

Since a lot didn't submit scores, only two people were cut. Oh crud, and here I thought the pain was over. Oh well a chance for some improvement since my first round +11 was way off my +5 average on practice rounds.

Yikes all those people and all the WD's. I would have bet all my earnings so far on the tour I wouldn't even come close to making the cut with a +12. I was also hoping I wouldn't have to play this course any more, but it just sucks you in like quicksand. Oh well maybe I can still get a few buck out of it anyways.

I played the first round version and found bigger faster greens but similar tight fairways.....about the same challenge to get the ball close to the pin and I also did a lot of chipping and flopping like on Shawnee. Shot a -6 in moderate winds.
