I really enjoyed the setup this week! Felt more realistic. Probably, won't make the cut, but enjoyed it none the less.

For my next trick I will now submit a score 2 shots higher than I really shot!! I am on a roll! No more submitting scores at 3am!

Is that your way of handicapping the field Scott? Sorry about the unintentional self-imposed penalty. I gave myself my own penalty playing the 3rd round in 12-15mph winds. Just can't stop the ball downwind, and into the wind the drive is so short I'm hitting 3-iron in, which also doesn't stop. Took the 3-6mph winds in rounds1/2 for granted.

Loved the setup. I'm struggling to make cuts every week, but at least I don't feel bad when I make par now. Which is how it should be IMO. Shot -3 and -5. Crossing fingers.

Just finished my 2 first rounds. Had winds of 3-6 rd1 and like 4-9 rd2. Had the pressure on myself as I'm currently 97 in the world and top 90 makes masters (got a T25 so far at the Euro tour this week to cash in so should see me bump up into the 80s hopefully and so I was thinking play PGA this week with higher strength of field and make the cut and that should hopefully lock up the top 90 with the Euro stop to factor in). Rd1 -5. Chip in eagle on the first par 5 and only one bogey for the day but also butchered 2 par 5s tho including the easy last. If you had of given me -5 at the start of round I would have taken it tho. Thinking -10 give or take will be cut. Rd2 -7 got off to a hot start with 3 birds in a row then 2 pars and birdied 6 to be -4 after 6. Made turn -6 and then bogeyed the next par 3 mustered only two more birds to get -7. Happy with first 2 days and time will tell if -12 is good enough (sitting 2nd after 2rds on PS4 with DLW1964 at -13). Looking good but early days and anything can happen Well Rds 3&4 are done. Played a quick pracy of Rd3 before I started the comp and shot -5 in 10-14mph winds and was pretty happy and thinking its manageable in high winds so onto the course for the comp. Rd3 and wind was 14mph on first tee. Shanked one into the heavy and hacked out short of green made a mess of chip and 2 putt bogey (not what I needed). Rest of time was a struggle.. Swing evaded me and the course treated me harshly (brushed the hole on 4 occasions thru round for birds & some approaches I thought were gonna be decent got horror bounces) and up and downs were a feature with posting a -2..... Stewing big time.... Winds never dipped below 11 and maxed at 15mph throughout. Rd4 and wind on first tee was 4mph. Approach shot from fairway on a great line and came up a foot short I reckon and kicked me into the heavy over the rear right. Up and down par. Birdied 2 with a great putt and thinking I can rally a respectable score as currently at -15 for comp (-20+ was my aim after Rd2), winds kicked right back up to the 9+mpg range for the remainder baring the last when my approach to last was 7mph. Struggled from hole 3 again in winds and nothing went my way. Again lipping out and some stuff bounces. Another -2 round resulted and now it's just a waiting game to see where -16 overall leaves me and if it's enough to hold onto top 90 ( #88 presently). Think I'll finish 50-60th after weekend rounds and that may not be good enough to maintain my ranking. Time will tell and happy golfing to you all. May the bounce be with you

"May the bounce be with you" so true Rod. It's all about the bounce! Good luck hanging onto the top 90

Ended up going -4, -7, -2, -1. I about threw my controller 5 times in the 4th round. I'm not sure what was going on but I had putts not breaking when green grid showed break, then I'd get the same grid speed on another hole and the putt would break a foot immediately. Huh? Cost me 3 birdies and an eagle at 18 because it was impossible to guess if it was going to actually break or not. I had about a 20 yard flop shot bounce, roll about a yard, lip out of the hole and then manage to backspin all the way off the green back to my feet. Again, huh? So much for people saying they can't get spin on this course eh? lol. Luckily, I hit the same shot over again and this time sank it to at least save par. Overall, I played much better than my scores indicate. Feel like I got robbed a bit. Oh well. /end rant

I wish I would have tracked my greens in regulation for this tournament. I would guess I hit roughly 20/72...and 15 of those were Par 5s. I'm shocked at some of the scores that are rolling in. I'd love to know how many chip ins the top dogs had this week, because it's virtually impossible to hold the majority of these greens. You certainly can't carry a green with more than a 7 iron and have it stay on. Thinking of landing it short and bouncing on? Think again, there's a huge turtle shell in front there that will see to it that your ball does not take a forward kick, but rather a backwards one. I'm all for a challenge, but this is simply put, unfair. The golf ball does not react on any greens in the world the way it does here. I love the original course, Bison Run don't get me wrong, but these conditions pretty much suck the fun out of it.
I'm all for a challenge, and hope we can get the scores closer on par with what the the TV guys shoot. But, there has to be a better, more fair way. Maybe not with the current firmness/speed limitations....I truly hope HB can tweak the firmness and offer more options that what there is currently. I'll burn my house down if I hit many more perfect 9 irons that catch the front piece of the green just like I planned, only before watching it hit what looks to be a sprinkler head, skip past the hole, and roll out 35 feet all the way across the green into the rough.
-16 for the week after I broke every club in my virtual bag in RD 4, hole 4 on my way to a Sunday 73.
I'll be at the bar.

If I remember correctly I had 3 chip in eagles and probably around 7 chip ins total. Made some monster putts in rd 1 & 2.

How often do you see a tour guy chip in twice in a tournament? I understand wanting to keep the numbers reasonable (I want to also), but this isn't the way to do it. Par 5's and chip ins are acounting for 90% of the birdies/eagles here.

In fact 2 rounds in and I don't think I have had a chip in. Also I feel if a pro had the same amount of 8 yards chip attempts that we are having on this course they would nail 1-2 a round. There chip ins in real life are usually 15-20 yards!

We are going to be reaching out to designers to do progressive firmness and multiple pins in future tournaments. Can you define progressive firmness? because Bison Run was concrete. And to be clear I'm NOT opposed to difficult, but it should be equitable. I love the game, but I don't like watching good or even great shots roll 20 to 50y on/around the green, it makes the course nearly unplayable. -7 -6 -1 +1 (-13)

I would say I made 25 % chip ins from 4 - 12 yds. I don't think thats uncommon.

I would say I made 25 % chip ins from 4 - 12 yds. I don't think thats uncommon. But the simple fact you have (30-40) 4-12 yard chip shots in 72 holes is outrageous....and indicative of how unreceptive the greens are from virtually any distance. Again, tip of the hat to the folks scoring 7-11 under consistently on these courses. I would love to see how it's done. I'm just baffled trying to determine where to land the ball on approach shots here. As I mentioned earlier, most of the holes do not allow for the "land it short and let it trickle on" shot either with all the excessive undulations in front of the greens.
