Personally I think it is still a bit too firm. Never have I seen a 4 iron run out 30 yards except in maybe the Open Championship. I find that raising firmness but not to quite this high along with adding difficulty to greens and removing the exact wind meter (when possible) would be a decent solution to see where scores are then reevaluate.

I know I hit a shot last night I had perfect distance in which is hard in these conditions and got to within about 6 inches for a gimme bird. That was very gratifying I can tell you having to estimate how much roll you are going to get! That and knowing birdies are not as easy to come by on the layout and the fast greens keep you on your toes as you can whiz the ball by the cup a good 10 feet on mid length putts.
Also getting an approach shot within 15-20 feet feels very rewarding and if you had it that far away the past 2 weeks you felt like sh!t

Very early in the proceedings, but I'm currently sitting in the top 10 and have to say that in-spite of my high position at the moment, I am NOT a fan of these conditions. The game just feels too luck based when everything is this firm. Me being on top of the PS4 leaderboard should be proof enough of that. I had 2 really lucky rounds with no bogies and a ton of putts dropped that I had no business making. I usually just sneak inside the cut line each week. Greens this firm are just no fun. I've heard people say that you can loft your clubs up and they'll hold better? Is that really true? I thought the loft doesn't have any effect on roll out? Maybe you've just improved.. especially on longer putts? Gary Player always used to say.. 'The more you practice, the luckier you get' and yes, lofting clubs does have an effect of the roll out.. Dangerous with very windy conditions though, since your ball will be in the air longer. Just need to figure out how to adjust for that.. The ball will hit the deck a little harder and bounce higher..

I only shot -7 through two rounds, but this is by far the most fun I've had playing a tourney in a while. Knowing that a par doesn't kill you is refreshing. Par is supposed to be a good score, but these last few weeks it's been as bad as a bogey. I also didn't find the firmness really out of whack either. You could still get a short iron to stop on the green near the hole if you planned the shot out properly. This is what I like about this week's setup. During previous tournaments, it was very easy to lose focus if you got a couple of pars because you knew that you would already be out of the running. That's what happened to me. A couple of pars and I just stopped concentrating because I knew I wouldn't have a shot at winning. It shouldn't be like that. Par is good, birdies are rewards for playing beyond expectations for a hole. And as for people complaining about not being able to hold greens due to the firmness, it's actually not that difficult if you just put more thought into your approach shot and use effective shot shaping.

Played as well as I could have hoped round 1 and shot 63 including coming 3" from a double eagle on 18 (rolled in but bounced off stick due to being so fast paced lol)
2nd round was back to reality with 67... just couldn't get anything going but overall pretty happy with those performances since I am not a fan of the firm conditions.
Love this course tho so had to tee it up here.
3rd round was a 65 that wasn't that good - eagled both par 5's on back 9
4th sucked - 69
Glad it's over...

We are going to be reaching out to designers to do progressive firmness and multiple pins in future tournaments. Is this statement valid for both (Pro) Tours, and not only PGA?

Well, this was my first PGA Tour event and pretty sure I missed the cut after dropping the ball in round 1... I had a 3 putt and a 4 putt... As a long time Tiger Woods player, it is tough for me to transition into this game... after a couple weeks I'm still having a lot of short game issues.. well here were my rounds:
Round 1: +1 Round 2: -7 Round 3: -1 Round 4: -11

-13 after 2 rounds. Happy with that even if I really played better than a 68 first round. Could not get the birdies to drop, but got some of that back in second round where some snakes found their home. I'm sure I will find a way to have a blow-up round before the tournament is over though...
Have to say that the course really shines in these conditions. Played the normal set up when it won the contest and honestly thought it was great craftmanship but a bit of a yawn otherwise. In the firm conditions the design really comes out and shows what a master-piece this is. Some tee-shots are genial when there are real consquences to going into the first cut. Hanging back with a 3W or hitting drive is not a given on many of the holes here. Positioing in the fairway and picking the right landing area and spin on the approach also becomes key. Measured agression is rewarded, but stupid choices are punished.
Bravo, Reebdoog, Bravo.

Couple great rounds there show you can hang, consistency will sort itself as you've only had a PS4 and TGC for a week! Good start buddy!
