I did try and turn the DPI up to 2500 and 3500. With the higher DPI, I am getting the putter power preview about 75% of the time. The problem is at that high a level, the putter is flying back so quickly, it is hard to read where the putter head is...and of course don't want to hit the ball at that high a level of DPI cause my swing is anything but straight. I'm hoping when the fix the deceleration that will fix the putting preview power bar. So frustrating hitting 80-85% of GIR but average 3.5 putts per hole....

As I am around 2100 Dpi, I too face the problem of what I call "Killer putts" when the putter suddenly flies back too quickly and if do not refrain to unclick, you end at the same distance back of the pin than you were in front. Still, I manage this more and more.
Just tried again master yesterday and that was P.I.T.A. : + 9 on my BeechWood course (but there was an awful wind) and a par save by an heroic putt on 18 while testing Royal Kurland. I think it's still too soon to switch to this difficulty level for now. No much very fast or very slow, but the penalties for slight misses are too fierce for my present swing.

Is there a way I can do a round and get my API looked at? I usually play on 550 DPI but I will move it up to 1000ish for TGC Tours so try and make the API happy. I've never played TGC Tours before but I would like to compete, I've searched TGCTours in societies and it doesn't seem like there are any exhibitions open

Try searching for Platinum .. That shoudl bring up the Platinum society and you can use the name there to search for others.

If you're seeing deviations from the swing plane line in your shots, you're definitely good.

If your score gets pulled you know you are too straight and need to deal with it. PLay at least 2 rounds in a couple different ones if you are worried, as the API is live.

Had probably the best two practice rounds since the game came out. Was 5 over on Whiskey and managed to shoot 8 birdies the rest of the way. On the second Q-school course, I was playing with a friend and was -6 through 14 when the game crashed.
I have come up with a new way to putt, I just gotta remember the routine. I have to change the DPI to like 3500 for the practice putting swing to come up properly. I then get an idea of the power, then switch the DPI back to normal and practice to get to that same spot that I was before, then I putt. A lot longer to putt each stroke but it has helped. Deceleration is still an issue and I'm hoping they patch that soon.
When was the last PC patch? Does anyone know?

Patch? They do patches? Do tell.

Rumour has it that HB have done some server tinkering but no PC patch since that little one two days after release.

So everything that worked on the range DOESN'T work on the course. Just about every swing is slow, I cannot get anything quicker. If I happen to get a perfect or fast, I can't replicate it. Increased DPI, no change. Dropped DPI, no change but the putting felt better. I have in game sensitivity (IGS from now on) at 100. According to Ron if I drop it I will get slow tempo, which I already have. Any ideas? EDIT: On a whim while hitting slow after slow on the range, I activated enhanced. I then hit some perfects and fasts with a few slows. So I took it to the Elite event. +4 with a birdie and 5 bogies, no blowup holes! Now to see if it will hold up in another round. Onward! One of the issues with the mouse, is you need to have a very fast downswing to get it to register properly. Like I've mention before, the calibration is a narrow window in which you have to fit in, and it's very fast for us mouse users. Having the "precision" helps with that, as it speeds up your mouse. But it also can cause other issues. I just turn it off and speed up my mouse cursor to compensate. It hurts my swing plane on occasion, but it's the only way I can get any sort of consistency. And you can still see from my video how well that's going. Dont know if this has been discussed before. You will see that on the range , your FPS is quite fast....usually around 60fps. When you load certain courses , that fps drops , sometimes as low as 30. Then your tempo changes as well. At lower fps you tend to hit the balls fast/very fast at the same tempo as on the range. I compensate for this by starting my backswing a little higher up on the screen. On courses where the FPS are higher or close to the range , the tempo seems to be more or less the same as on the range. Therefor I try to tweak a course to highest possible fps before I play. Unfortunately in competetive mode like these tours , that may mean that you have to drop your graphics setting way down to get more "range like" tempos.

With regard to FPS, I have a supposed gaming DEll laptop, and it is extremely difficult to play 2K21 (or 2019 for that matter) at 60FPS. I had to lock the v-sync at 30FPS in order to have any smoothness at all, but that seems to work for me.

FPS is only part of the issue. On my 2080Ti locked to 60,90, or 120 fps the issue still persists. Swing tempo is erratic on graphically busy holes. I'm begining to learn which holes. River Highlands is a great example of a "laggy" course, compared to classic official courses.
There is something else going on. So hard to pinpoint. Begining to get a bit bored.
Best guess is frame skipping combined with some kind of network and/or input latency issue. Poor Unity optimisation for sure.

Interesting. Even more reason to get a 3080 card when they're in stock...
I posted elsewhere about the occasional 'fishhook' swing, where the swing plane goes crazy sideways at the top. It had been theorized that this is the result of the game tracking the mouse all the way to the top of the monitor, then sideways, as at times the mouse cursor can go sideways once it hits the top. I did some testing last night and this sure looked to be true. I had success so far with changing my swing motion to pull back rapidly at the top. I'll be testing more on course tonight, but it could be a way to avoid this problem. Not ideal because it feels wonky to swing like that, but I'm pretty hesitant to make major changes in my mouse settings right before Q School.
Maybe after Q School, I'll try turning the in game mouse sensitivity way up and the DPI on my mouse way down. If I can manage to get it to not give me a very slow every time and have the mouse never reach the top of the screen, it might work.

I run my resolution at 4k and locked at 60FPS with a 1080ti. I play on medium quality so even on the more graphically intensive courses, it stays locked at 60FPS. I cannot stress this enough, you need to find a way to lock it in place. Having it fluctuate more than 1-2 FPS can and will effect tempo. So if you are finding the more graphic intensive courses giving you an issue, turn down the FPS or the quality in game.
Pretty much you want to eliminate all latency possible. Don't played wirelessly, turn off v-sync if you have g-sync/freesync, lock in the FPS if you can, disable other programs that might be accessing the internet or using computer resources, ect.
I'm hitting perfects quite nicely now and for the first time feel like I'm able to play competitively. I just gotta wait for the putting bug to go away and be patched.

I'm not sure if I'm just lucky on the putting bug or if it's my style that keeps it from happening. I pull the mouse back just enough to start the stroke going back, hold it until the animation reaches the desired point, then push forward rapidly. I only get one bug instance every 10 rounds or so and it's usually where I know that I didn't go forward strongly enough.
