I filed a request with 2K support about my mouse tempo issue. Seeing the data from the API confirms there's something broken here. Whether that's on my end with my mouse or the game, I have no idea, but I'm sure they will not consider it's a problem on their end. That's how tech support works. We'll see what happens, but I just can't play this game with the tempo issues I'm seeing. Maybe I'll go back to trying it with the tempo off and the other settings jacked up to compensate. It only took a week to get my first reply from 2K support. And it was a completely cut/paste thing assuming I have a console and telling me to clear my console's cache and how to check my network connection.....to fix my mouse issue. So maddening.

Aye, their 1st level tech support is fully cut/paste. It wasn't until my 5th email of me explaining I did everything they said and requested 2nd level support did I finally get a response on the whole not being able to place the ball when practicing putting, they said they would send it up to developers.

Something is woefully wrong. I've figured out something. I'm not sure what i'm doing differently but I played both q-school courses and scored -4, -5 then played wingfoot for giggles and scored -6. I hit 50% perfects and was putting well because i kept everything to 25 feet and under. I'm scaring myself.
Putting still sucks but I may have figured out something to make it work.

Funny how putting's much easier when you are closer to the hole, eh?

Funny how putting's much easier when you are closer to the hole, eh? About as amazing how many more birdies you get when you hit your approach shot with perfect or near perfect tempo.
The longer putts of 40+ feet is still a guessing game but it is a bit easier now that I have an idea what to look for. Just silly that I have to amp up the dpi to 3500 just to get the preview to work properly.

Are you using the putt preview to get the percentage you need, to see where that is in the animation or both? I'm pretty comfortable putting on anything lower than 60% using just the chart I made. As long as I hit my target percentage, I'm reliably inside of 6' for my next putt.

Yeah i'm using the practice preview to get an idea of the power. The problem is without the dpi being super high, it doesn't register most of the time and I can't see the power needed.

Okay...
I'm still tinkering after hitting a patch of lots of random very slow / very fast swings. Aside from changing DPI settings, I tried some graphics settings. (I tried low DPI with high in game sensitivity - no way to get anything other than slow or very slow for my setup.)
Two big things I've noticed that maybe another mouse player can check out.
1) I turned off VSync completely. My tempo is now MUCH more consistent. I tried 30FPS, but man, that's painful to watch. 2) The longer I'm playing, the more the tempo tends to go slow. I start out at 2000, after a few rounds, start getting lots of slows. Change to 2500, back to right around perfect. Eventually, that DPI gets slow and I have to go to 3000. Rebooting seems to reset everything. As part of my work, I write a bit of code - mostly visual basic in Excel. This behavior strikes me as a possibly symptom of a memory leak in the game.
In any case, if anyone wants to try turning off VSync (I'd recommend a good computer/GPU before doing this) and report back on if there's any difference for them? Has anyone else noticed that tempo seems to change over the course of several rounds?

I have no idea how i did this, only 42% of the Fairways hit. Still it is possible and I doubt I'll do this well in the real tournament.

Still dealing with 2K's "support". Man, it's like pulling teeth. And I used to work in tech support, so I know what they want/need to diagnose issues. But still dealing with the scripted support people who have no idea what's actually going on and it's maddening how they don't read a damn thing I write to them.
Here's hoping I finally triggered the next tier support.

I just spent 20 minutes on the range and never once got a single perfect tempo. I seem to get half slow and half fast but never perfect. Does anyone else have that problem?

I just spent 20 minutes on the range and never once got a single perfect tempo. I seem to get half slow and half fast but never perfect. Does anyone else have that problem? Yes, I had that as well. I had to recalibrate a few times to eliminate that. Now, I shoot mostly perfects off the tee (even with the Bridgestone 295 yard carry) and on approaches (except for pitch shots). Moreover, I know what I did wrong when I don't get a perfect, so the feedback works as well. Maybe as an additional info: I don't manipulate any dpi settings for the game. I don't even know where to find these settings in Windows. Here are my ideas to provide some help: Calibration seems to take the default perfect speed and then add the average deviation from that default perfect that you achieved during your 10 calibration shots. Thus, if you manage to swing as intended for 7 out of 10 calibration shots and then have 3 slightly slower shots, then the game, taking the average (and hence taking into account your 3 slower swings), calibrates to a swing that's slightly slower than what you want it to be. What I want to say is that you have to try and get the average to match your preferred swing speed. That way, if you notice that one of your swings has been slightly slower than the others, you'll have to throw in a faster swing for compensation. For this, you can use the shot feedback (where the ball lands) during your calibration shots as a reference. Also, don't try to hit a straight shot during calibration. If you swing faster than the default perfect, then your drives will all be fast and go left (for a right handed pixel golfer) during calibration. Cheers!

Hey thanks for the tips! I've tried to calibrate a few times but I'll try again with what you said in mind and see if I can get it dialed in.
