Once upon a time VctryLnSprts was eager to delve into the wonderful world of templates. Bouyed by rave early reviews of his mountainous gem, Hallstatt North, Lane and his crew were eager to break ground on their new project. 

But then came an unsettling review from Judge 1 Magazine, which painted Hallstatt in a less than flattering light. While some still made the trek up the mountain, the buzz from the casual golfer wore off. Funding slowed and Lane was forced to give up his template project. 

Knowing the potential the site had to offer, Jeremy Mayo jumped in to make sure the work that was started didn't go to seed. The vision, keep much of the routing and template concepts Lane had created while giving the course a decidedly southern Florida feel. 

The end result -- Evangelist Golf Club, a challenging par-70 layout that will test the best strategists and shotmakers. The routing stays mainly true to Lane's original concept for the layout:

Hole 2 - Bottle
Hole 3 - Eden
Hole 4 - Narrows
Hole 5 - Alps
Hole 6 - Punchbowl
Hole 7 - Prize Dogleg
Hole 8 - Biarritz
Hole 9 - Leven
Hole 10 - Valley
Hole 11 - Lions Mouth
Hole 12 - Steamshovel*
Hole 13 - Redan
Hole 14 - Double Plateau
Hole 15 - Road
Hole 16 - Long*
Hole 17 - Short
Hole 18 - Cape 

(* more freestyle concepts due to routing)

This will be my last TGC 2019 work. We'll look forward to porting this over to PGA 2K21 shortly after release. Enjoy!

Good stuff fellas! Glad you decided to push it out for TGC 2019. The bunker walls looked good & played well. The template concepts were well integrated without being obviously modeled around them. Interested to see how well this ports over to 2K21.

This is really cool work with the textures and waterways. Gonna need to give it a few more plays before I come back with a full write-up but off the first playthrough the Eden, Cape, Double Plateau and Leven are early favourites. Dye vibes everywhere and loved the nod to Harbour Town with some of the treeline usage to tighten things more than it initially appears.

All joking aside (although they are welcome, especially in meme form), I couldn't have done what mayday_golf83 did to this project. I really appreciate him taking the reigns on this so that it wasn't a complete waste of the time I spent on it in the beginning. I think it turned out fantastic!

Whilst I wouldnt know "template" from crisco, or my elbow from my hind end when it comes to this style or heck designing in general this is fantastic work

This is a really good course.  I thought the lighting and textures were perfect, captured the lowland Florida feel, templates were well represented.  I think my favorite was the tee shot on the Long hole, even though I failed to sling it around the tree sharp enough to hold the fairway.

How do you get the birds eye view of the full course

How do you get the birds eye view of the full course

You can only do it on PC, but it's F10 and then F11 and you can fly around freely far enough to see the entire plot and surroundings.
