Though I'm nowhere near an elite player of this game, I still don't see why people think slow chips were cheating. I'm merely a 7 index in real life and can hit solid, repeatable one handed chips where I stop at the top of my backswing for hang out for a bit, and then hit a clean chip. Heck I can even hit short flop shots with a stop at the top of my swing...and most would describe my short game as somewhere between shaky, unreliable and suffering from the yips. So irl every single chip you take you have the same backswing length and pause but hit different distances ?.Slow backswing in the game is extremely unrealistic. Of course we don't have the exact same backswing length for every shot IRL...but I can play from roughly the same backswing length and adjust the distance the ball carries and rolls with face angle, AoA and clubhead speed. Maybe there's some other form of slow chipping technique that players are taking advantage of than what I'm considering a slow chipping motion.

mctrees02 Slow chips are 100% legal and don't break TGCTs Fair Play Policy. Of course, everyone is entitled to self impose game restrictions based on their own video-game philosophy. Bottom line for me is this - IRL, Drive the ball with a normal 3:1 tempo followed by a 50:1 tempo and see if the ball travels the same distance. This would also transfer to every other type of shot. Do normal people play with a 50:1 tempo? Nope. Could they choose to? Absolutely, and it would have a HUGE impact on distance. But honestly, even if the SLOW didn't emulate real golf I wouldn't be overly concerned. I approach it like a video game and simply want to enjoy myself and hit consistent in-game shots. That's what makes this game so great!! We can play it with every aid turned on, off, or inbetween. Within the fair play policy rules, there is No Right or Wrong way to play. I agree that I'm not going to hold a club at the top of my backswing forever IRL...though there are some players such as Hideki that do it with a full swing which is mind blowing to me. There are also professional golfers who chip cross handed and even a few chipping one handed now as well as many different ways to grip and swing a putter because ultimately there's no one perfect way to get the ball in the hole. Now if a glitch exists in 2k21 where if I know I can hold the club back for eternity and I will always get 96% of the club's distance...then I've removed a significant variable to swinging the club and that needs to be addressed.

The backswing tempo for distance control has been removed and rightly so. You do not stop at the top of the backswing and count, then hit it with the same effort to reduce distance IRL.

Will societies have live turn order or will it be the ghost option we have now?

When talking to HB_Craig he didn't make any comment that it was a glitch. Perhaps he didn't genuinely know though and simply omitted making any comments on it til a later time. Either way, as it stands right now, it's a legitimate in-game swing mechanic that everyone can replicate.
If they don't want the 96% to be the new 100% they'll definitely need to fix it.

A 5:1 tempo and a 3:1 tempo would generally go the same distance. Because you hold at the top your downswing speed isn't reduced. I real life I have slowed my backswing and I am actually hitting further because my tempo is better.

Okay this just in, the 96% is not a glitch, nor is it an exploit!!!
Twitch Prime 11BC2: See if this Set gives you 96% on slow plz lol Twitch Prime11BC2: I really want HB to see this SLOW over and over so they fix it hb_craigc: There's nothing to fix 11 Twitch Prime11BC2: I was half playing and half serious, but @hb_craigc Are you serious ^? hb_craigc: If players want to go a chart out how to play courses at 96% swing power, and then are abelt o perform their swings perfectly - all the power to them. That's my personal opinion.

LOL - good luck getting HB to admit there is a bug.......they never did for all the 2019 swing glitches / cheats......
Societies not available until September 21st?? WTF?? Career Mode gets old very quickly. Sad that they have not allowed the ability to have multiple divisions. Now lets see if they fixed the handicap function but that would require them to fix the slope rating on custom courses. That would be too much to ask wouldn't it? Sorry, I got stupid and typed the wrong month. I meant Aug 21. What an idiot I am.

HBCraig's response had made me significantly less excited for this game. This 96% thing, if I understand it correctly, sounds terrible.

Ironically, this is probably due to the heavy HB forum activity by some players in the previous months relating to swing mechanics moving forward in the new game. The new SLOW in PGA 2K21 will be 1,000,000,000 (keep adding zero's to the 80th power) more agitating for some.

My response to HB in twitch: @hb_craigc You guys might want to make some adjustments to that SLOW. Otherwise,if you use that 96% slow you can adjust spin/angle to create your own make shift power % to dial in shots. 96% can easily be made 99 to 100% with adjusting the spin and angle though. Twitch Prime11BC2: Or be made to be 88% etc. Twitch Prime11BC2: You could spend 2 or 3 days charting it out and get VERY PRECISE and REPEATABLE results. Beyond that, choosing clubs with more shot shaping allow even more freedom for the above. Yeah this bug better get squashed! Or will they deny it for 2 years and fix it in 2K23?

In theory, any swing can be repeatable at the various percentages - at least a slow doesn't give you MORE distance like 2019 did..
