Initial thoughts are Legendary will be too difficult - but that's after only a few rounds. My stats are generally Fairways (30%) greens (15%) and putts/hole around 2. The good thing is that the option is there to go harder should everyone get really good - but out of the box, it's eons tougher than anything available in 2019. The Master difficulty seems to be the initial sweet spot - tougher than 2019 but not frustratingly so. None of these decisions will be made w/out a couple of exhibition events under our belt. We'll be throwing a bunch of different ones up to see what the results look like. Hi Doyley Can you elaborate on what your thoughts could be in regards to the scores you and admin want to see on the top tours. Is the goal to see scores that are more real life (-10 winning events) in PGA or are you guys happier seeing -50 winning each week to encourage a more enjoyable experience? -10 winning score...think I'm in love

Any difference in spin physics compared to 2019? yes - they now allow you to set loft and launch angle allowing you to get backspin on certain shots in 2K21 that you couldn't in 2019. Is this overpowered in tougher settings, ie dialing distance through loft. Are you punished for using this for poor tempo shots and does spin vary shot to shot or is it the same every time.

LOL - good luck getting HB to admit there is a bug.......they never did for all the 2019 swing glitches / cheats......
Societies not available until September 21st?? WTF?? Career Mode gets old very quickly. Sad that they have not allowed the ability to have multiple divisions. Now lets see if they fixed the handicap function but that would require them to fix the slope rating on custom courses. That would be too much to ask wouldn't it? Where did you read this, you also said that the new game would be too easy a couple of weeks back on the 2K21 forum. You got that very wrong by the looks of it.

My response to HB in twitch: @hb_craigc You guys might want to make some adjustments to that SLOW. Otherwise,if you use that 96% slow you can adjust spin/angle to create your own make shift power % to dial in shots. 96% can easily be made 99 to 100% with adjusting the spin and angle though. Twitch Prime11BC2: Or be made to be 88% etc. Twitch Prime11BC2: You could spend 2 or 3 days charting it out and get VERY PRECISE and REPEATABLE results. Beyond that, choosing clubs with more shot shaping allow even more freedom for the above. . Just make anything over 1 second a shank

At the top of your backswing a 1 second pause through a 4s pause will always produce exactly 96% power. Verified at RespawnTV. If that's correct then that alone kills the game stone dead. They'll all be at it. It was bad enough with the slow chip cheaters.

Paul, I just read through the whole thread. I had thought the original mention of September 21 was just a typo, that he meant to type August 21, when the game comes out.
hope thats the case anyway!

I'm merely a 7 index in real life and can hit solid, repeatable one handed chips where I stop at the top of my backswing for hang out for a bit, and then hit a clean chip. Heck I can even hit short flop shots with a stop at the top of my swing...and most would describe my short game as somewhere between shaky, unreliable and suffering from the yips.

Have there been any mouse players with impressions yet? Seems everyone uses a controller, but I prefer mouse on PC.

So irl every single chip you take you have the same backswing length and pause but hit different distances ?.Slow backswing in the game is extremely unrealistic.

In the game, slow backswing chips generally hit straighter shots and therefore more holeouts. Not really playing the game in my opinion.

Because when you do that in real life the distance is not based on how many seconds you hold it. Big difference.

mctrees02 Slow chips are 100% legal and don't break TGCTs Fair Play Policy. Of course, everyone is entitled to self impose game restrictions based on their own video-game philosophy. Bottom line for me is this - IRL, Drive the ball with a normal 3:1 tempo followed by a 50:1 tempo and see if the ball travels the same distance. This would also transfer to every other type of shot. Do normal people play with a 50:1 tempo? Nope. Could they choose to? Absolutely, and it would have a HUGE impact on distance. But honestly, even if the SLOW didn't emulate real golf I wouldn't be overly concerned. I approach it like a video game and simply want to enjoy myself and hit consistent in-game shots. That's what makes this game so great!! We can play it with every aid turned on, off, or inbetween. Within the fair play policy rules, there is No Right or Wrong way to play.

Swing Calibration sounds amazing Doyley . I can be patient and watch a stream to understand better...but can you expand on that a bit when you get a chance? Platform consistency....nice! In the training menu you head to the range w/ Driver. You take your 10 best swings - trying to hit perfect tempo and straight. At the end they take the info gathered (which I assume will help w/ the variety of controllers and their different polling rate) and set that as your specific tempo going forward.
You still have to hit the ball close to their designed tempo (which is much faster in this version) but with controllers having different polling rates - this will hopefully smooth out the differences and allow for fair competition across platforms.
Of course, the preview was PC only so this has yet to be fully tested across PS4/XB1/Switch. This is why I left in the caveat of "if done well" Do you expect any issues with the API if everyone has a different 'tuned' swing tempo?
