Just play on easy difficulty settings This is one part of the new game I do not like at all. I find it unrealistic and gamey (some may call it arcadey). I completely disagree. "Arcadey" would refer to the game being really easy, like being able to shoot a 47 in the old Tiger Woods games because you could adjust flight and spin during the flight of the ball. LOL This game is as close to real golf as I've seen, and maybe I'm looking through rose-colored glasses, but I've played the game for several days now, and I'm enjoying the difficult of it. How is the putting feel for distance coming on? (without the swing meter and haptic feedback), looks much more difficult than TGC2019.

Guys, you may have already seen this, but just in case some people don't frequent the HB forum.. Post by HB_CraigC 8/9/20 "... Rumble is not a restrictable difficulty feature. It is not any more of an aid than taking practice swings to find the intended power percentage, another feature that is also not restrictable. If you want to turn off rumble for yourself because you feel that's a more "pure" way to play you're free to do so.
And just to clarify something that doesn't seem to have translated from the streams - or perhaps the streams weren't watched and opinions are being made blindly. The Pro Swing Difficulty "perfect zone" is akin to the 2019 master perfect window. Depending on the club you're using it may even be smaller. The difference with 2K21 is the [grey] forgiveness zones outside are slightly more forgiving than missing perfect equally in 2019. So, in 2k21 you can expect to be offline more on Pro than 2019 Master
2K21 Master and Legend swing difficulties are both a lot harder than the 2019 Master clubs. Don't let the familiar nomenclature fool you here..."
This ^^ I believe the 6 difficulty settings give something for everyone to enjoy! It's not my decision, but if it were me, I would either put the PGA, Euro, and KF on Legend and all of CC on Master in the new game, or bump that down one level and have it be Master and Pro. We can end this whole clubset BS that we've had to deal with the past few years and just put everybody on the same playing field, and if you're good at the game you'll rise up the ranks, and if you're not, you'll be in the lower CC levels. But at least we're all using the same foundation now, just at different difficulties as you get up the tour ranks! Level playing field would be great for these tours and multi platform societies, let's hope the consoles have a similar experience to us PC players.

Last ones guys, promise. Just some really great info and feedback from Craig C. Awesome stuff, in my opinion.
Great info from HB_CraigC.....
1) Practice swings do display whether or not you are transitioning at the intended power. (watch any of Respawns videos when he's putting without a meter on)
2) BOTH practice swing and haptic feedback are based on YOUR distance intent... it has nothing to do with "the right power"... You set you're intent, the feedback is representative of how you set up the shot. .."
Another post by HB_CraigC...
"...If you plan to play a 60% shot, and don't set your intent, you are free to attempt to swing at 60%... but at that point neither the practice swing, nor the haptic feedback will affect you at all...
Additionally, intended partial shots alters your downswing timing (making Perfect a slightly slower, based on the reduced distance from 100%) if you don't set up your intent your downswing timing is assuming your intent is 100% power, and will not "feel" correct for the swing. But the choice is yours to set it up or not..."

Putting is much harder in the new game, but I played with haptic feedback turned off, and I got the hang of it. One thing the better players will have to get used to (I think), is that the Chad Thundercock method of ramming the ball into the back of the hole doesn't work anymore. The cups in the new game have sharper edges and also a ball hit too hard doesn't just "vacuum" into the hole, it will go right over it. Speed is much more important now.

So in theory these longer clubs are going to make legend swing difficulty even harder to hit where you want it to go, with the attributes trade off. Eh? ? Hard to give a definitive answer imo! Here is a 1m25s video I made using clips from Marc and Andre playing on the Master difficulty. The 1st swing is performing our favorite new shot!, the LW splash ^. Notice there is very little tempo/cone reaction until the L stick spin is nearly maxed out, and again, a similar reaction when the R angle is maxed out. I'd say maybe 5% tempo/cone shrinkage with 95% spin, and with maxed out L/R sticks, perhaps 35%?
Next is Marc executing a longer 5i shot from the rough. You'll see he simultaneously maxes out the L/R sticks values and the tempo/cone feedback don't narrow till near max out, yet again; at which point I'd guess its around the same 35%. I've slowed down Marcs two shots to 25% speed and replayed them twice. It should be noted!!, that w/out use of the R stick the cone/tempo wouldn't have much movement at all for the 5i shot.
Andre is using a Driver and you can see that the L/R sticks have very, Very, VERY little impact. Can anyone of the great dudes! that played on August 6th tell us a little more information on the shot shaping attribute? I know it affects the spin/angle but I'm unsure of the exact extent. VctryLnSprts stated that it will affect the "safe zone", but could there be another influence? Take a 100y club with maxed out L/R spin, and lets say that hypothetically gives us an 85y shot. Now let's Max out the shot shaping attribute - In addition to more tempo/cone protection, will it also affect the distance, that is to say, will the same 100y club above with maxed out L/R spin now only hit to an 80y shot (that's what I thought it would also do)?
Anyways, here's the video!

That's great, seems a trip to the putting greens before each round will help to get a feel for different green speeds with haptic feedback off. From what I have seen it seems the pin in physics for putting are good as there is always a worry of that pin as a backstop for as you say Chad Thundercocking it

I agree that it looks like as close to real golf as have been done in a video golf game. I thought that of TGC 2019 also - and this looks way better. What I refer to as gamey is the attributes on the clubs - distance, shot shaping, forgiveness etc. I find those attributes to be unrealistic - and therefore gamey (not arcadey, as I can absolutely see your point on that term). You do not hit a more forgiving driver 20 yards less. Quite the contrary - you hit it long, and the forgiveness makes you hit longer also on slight misses because of larger sweet spot. What you loose - is the ability to shape shots, draw and fade. So these tradeoffs - are in my opinion not realistic in how these clubs perform in real life. I do not mind hard difficulty settings - as it seems we get in plenty with the Legend difficulty. So I can't see any reason for this unrealistic tradeoffs in equipment. I want this as everything else as realistic as possible.

Why wouldn't people just hit a slow intentional by clubbing up one and moving your aim left or club down one and aim to the right farther for a fast swing? I will be testing this as I'm sure it's more complicated than TGC 2019. Plan on live streaming at midnight for 5-6 hours As someone who has spent quite a bit of time with the game, I think it's adorable how some of you think you are going to be able to manipulate the tempo to get the ball to go exactly where you want, especially on Master/Legend. There are so many different misses now. Can't wait for everyone to get their hands on it! What scores would you expect on the legend difficulty? As someone who loves the challenge, that’s what I hope TGCTours goes to

I would expect a good amount of the top guys to struggle to break par (with the grid on) for a long while. I would compare the middle difficulty (semi-pro or pro) to Master clubs in 2019. Master and Legend difficulty are very tough (at least for me, who has been on PGA/Euro most of 2019)

Hopefully bringing down scores down to some sort of realism. Be very interested to see how the administration team sets up the tours once the game comes out. I like that there seems to be so many options as far as difficulty goes

I would just like to update a feature I was initially led to believe isn’t in game but noticed on Andre’s second stream does exist is the ability to choose wedge lofts from 46-60* in 2* increments. This will allow you greater flexibility to gap your bag and customize from week to week. 👍🏻

It would also be interesting to translate into other languages. Type FIFA, Uncharted 4, Tomb Raider or any other great game for PS4. The translation, for those who do not speak English, makes the game friendlier. It would be a dream for that to happen. Going to be a fun day - enjoy the mass amounts of information. Just to give my quick 2 cents I'll post the top 3 things that made me excited about the new game. 1. Designer going global - this will give us even better courses with more variety than we've ever had 2. Swing Calibration - if done correctly, this should balance out any imbalance across systems/consoles - you take 10 swings on the range to set your "ideal tempo" No longer are we locked to HB Studios perfect tempo! (within reason) 3. Select tees per round - this one is relatively new to me but you can select tees per round in society events now which means even more variety available for tournament courses. Front pin? Use a front tee! Thanks HB for this! There's a ton more including the Legend difficulty level that has blown open the doors and given us lots of room to work in w/ regards to swing difficulty. My best score so far is an 86 on that level - it's hard! We have lots of fun decisions to make coming up. For now, enjoy the streams - ask your questions and we'll do our best to answer throughout the day and coming weeks. First impressions - they listened to community and added a lot of customization to the game.

To me, the top tours HAVE to play on AT LEAST master, preferably legend. Lets see who the best is when the game is at its toughest, not whos the best when everyone is playing well because it's easy.
Also, I think the haptic feedback is fine. Like Craig said, you still have to execute the shot. Without haptic feedback, you really dont have any feeling on when to start the downswing or how fast it should be, youre just waiting to see the animation get to a certain point. IRL, you DO have that feeling. I can go to the range right now and immediately start hitting 56* wedges to pins that are anywhere from 50%-85% my max distance with that club, because I have the muscle memory and feeling of how I need to hit that shot. That is what haptic feedback is designed to do. You arent waiting for a visual timing on shots, youre feeling yourself get to a certain point in the backswing and feeling yourself go through the downswing with a certain amount of force.
So for anyone wondering, I will 100% be playing with haptic feedback on and I will 100% be setting up all my shots.
