Half Way API update for you that care, or are even able to keep pace with it nowadays! Since Push / Pull Came in we've had 43 API removals, shared between 26 individuals. Of those 26 individuals, so far this week: - 3 have made the cut thru 2 rounds - Well played!
- 7 played but didn't make the cut
- 8 played and were API'd again
- 8 more, of which 5 were in the world top 30, didn't play at all. Most notably, Daviee McSideswiper and Rokomura.
So far, count this week is @10, so again, trending in the right direction, but with some missing as above. Up from 9 overnight, Alan Hoy has now joined the elite ranks ineligible for the Majors this year. To put it into context how bad this push pull lark is and how badly it has infested the top tier of the game, where it is being policed - in TST, where we have players from PGA down to CC-Z, there have been 40 individuals flagged to date for having a swing that would earn a DQ on PGA... 40, across all skill levels in the game... Including some that don't even have TGCT accounts but played in the society on their respective platform... only 5 of those instances would have triggered a removal based on the TST fair play metric. In the same period, of the 26 we've actually had removed on PGA, 24, by my reckoning are for having a swing inaccurate enough to set this metric off, in the absolute top tier of the game. [edit] Extra useless fact - DQ's this year on PGA = 124, and on TST = 24 People getting pulled for full swings are almost non existent in the grand scheme, and are (as far as I know) almost always due to controller malfunction or 3rd party eq. We do have outliers here on PGA as we see, and with the quality of player up here, people will regularly get closer to the line regards DQ's... something is tipping them over into the deemed "unfair advantage" bracket, and it looks like putting is always in the mix, so hopefully, this can be resolved with the help of the admin team. Not sure if anyone can be arsed to answer this question, but for those that are in the "not too wonky, not too straight camp"... - Do you think the API is actually faulty? Do you think it should be relaxed? Is it too harsh?
I for one am happy with the level of scrutiny it affords and think that relaxing it would just encourage the "chancers". I do empathise with those that are genuinely having issues on a week to week basis, but there needs to be a level of control.
Phew - it's been a slow morning.

I hope the translation is correct: Answering the question: I don't think the API is defective. But I think I'll always be on a tightrope. I wear multifocal glasses. The distance from the sofa to the TV does not tell me if I am straigh (precisely) correct or not. I found it difficult to understand the player's post "The open", but then I realized that if you play relaxed, you can do it, being skilled. What looks straight may not be. Then you, worried, force the stick to the side and maintain the habit of the play. I particularly prefer freedom to play, but the rule here is clear. Either I adapt, or I leave (spontaneously or by force). I like the challenge and I think the game is only good because of this community. If she didn't exist, i might not be playing anymore. I never got TGC1 and TGC2 again. Anyway: I think I will pass the API (I already finished the last lap), but I have doubts about the amount of strikes I hit (if I hit). Of course I stayed behind, but if I really passed, it is a good way. But why did you say I'm going to be on a tightrope? Because I don't have the precise image of my movement. I left it in God's hands (Brazilian expression). Tomorrow I will know if I passed or not. If I passed ok, let's go to the next one. If I didn't pass, some will laugh at this post. I'll try until I get it. Hugs. Half Way API update for you that care, or are even able to keep pace with it nowadays! Tough question, Fadge. In light of recent events, I wish it was more relaxed on putting. Between Tyler, Urge and someone I know on PC...I wish there was a way to do that but keep it fair. I feel like that's not possible but that's my only input on how I wish it would differ. From a push/pull standpoint, my initial argument was that it was uncomfortable for me to swing straight. It was, at first. I have now become used to it so a lot of my "anger" has receded and I realize I should have just played it out for a month before using that argument. Guess it's similar to that "switching your grip" analogy that I brought up earlier in this thread. The API feels fair on the Push/Pull playing field.

I think it’s fine. 2.5 seasons and played every event. Never pulled. As some have stated putting is probably the most important skill. Let’s just say there will always be people that push the limits.

I don't think we've had more than 1/2 dozen pulls for putting all season and none in the last several months (until Tyler).

This is from a PS4 player, whenever I have a 3” tap in my line has always still gone down to the bottom. If someone else did this and it was dead straight would it get flagged because of how short it is so there wouldn’t be much deviation? I don’t remember the blue bar being that narrow either but it has been 5 weeks since I used master clubs last.

Merp, didn't read that all the way=P I think that's what the open was talking about with lesser data points.

Why would you need to pull the stick all the way back for a tap in I’ve never done that in game and I wouldn’t take a full swing for a tap in in real golf. If I was to take a full backswing for a tap in I can assure you it would end up going off the green, I’ve done it in frustration so I know.

3 strikes and I'm out. Will not make a mockery of new API metric. It's fair and I really tried getting in the blue. Thought I was headed in the right direction the past week with looking a yard in front of ball. Took out the pull at top of bubble, but now caused pull at bottom of bubble, my backswing. Godspeed to all and keep safe and play well.

It's where the swing finishes...from my understanding.

Thought both ends had to be in the blue a majority of shots. Idk. Like I said, enough has been said about new API and api in general. Look forward to just playing with my friends and some some societys. Be a relief to never hear API again. 😆

I'm not 100% sure if the backswing is considered or not. I've not been told that is the case. I was told that different points of the swing are weighted more heavily in the accuracy calculation and I know for certain that the end of the swing is one of those points.
