I figured I would start this thread because I'm very excited at playing this.
It is amazing to see how this courses has evolved over time. From TGC 1 to today. I remember it was so hard to play this course well, especially when the admin changed everything to VF/VF/VF. Then it got easier in TGC 2. Now if the winds are low, shooting a -16 isn't something that is too terribly difficult for some. I've seen scores as low as -19 and -20 on the leaderboard.
Still it has teeth and you have to be on your game. I tend to shoot anywhere between -6 and -15 at the high end. I'm thinking -55 is quite doable for a final score over four rounds, depending on the conditions. Right now I'm just looking to make a cut and play on the weekend. I didn't get to play here last year and missed the cut the previous year soooooo. I'm ready. I hope.
GL all!

-6 -7 for yet another missed cut can't say I particularly enjoyed the high wind with rock hard greens in both rounds, almost impossible to get near the hole (well for a medium player like me at least) .... Have "fun" ladies and gents see you next week!

Have "fun" ladies and gents see you next week! I was just marginally better. -6 -9 -15 will get me below 100th place. I am just not putting good enough. Missed two more or less gimmies an at least 5 makeable putts inside 15 feet.

Wee question, I loaded up to begin R1 and hadn’t changed my club set from beginners club (having tried out another society) back to Masters clubs. I didn’t hit a single shot, exited and changed back to Master clubs but now when I load it up I’m still on beginners clubs on first tee?? Anyone know how I resolve?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but i don't think you can resolve. Once you start a round your club set is locked in

Well what a difference a week makes - best career result in Texas, and then heading immediately for one of my worst - an utterly dire R1 at -2, where I must have had 8/9 putts roll right across the face of the hole. Rather better in R2 (-10) but nowhere near enough

63 to start. Had to scramble a few times to stay bogey free.
Think a few of you guys are overestimating how well people will be able to score tbh. It's brutally tough with the wind & firmness in unison. And then when you get to the green every putt wants to move sideways.
-15 has a good chance of making it IMO

2nd round plays easier. 2-3 strokes difference imo.

2nd round plays easier. 2-3 strokes difference imo. Yeah round one has several holes just cut over the bunker that makes it getting close very difficult. It is usually better to go long here on holes like 5 and 7 than to end up short and in the bunker.
I do love this course but damn it can be infuriating at times.

Ok my host organism has clearly been invaded by some creature who can actually play the game.
One of my best rounds ever in R2 - 56. Holed out for an albatross @ No 2 and made a silly number of 20 footers.
-25 at halfway. Nose bleed territory

I tore up the par 5s in rounds 3 and 4 but not much else. Hopefully I get to use those scores this week.

Well it appears because of my school boy error, I won’t be able to play this event because I loaded it up having not changed my club set. Have been looking forward to it for weeks as it’s my fav golf tournament of the year and I end up with this sh##. Admittedly my own fault but having not hit a single shot I’d have thought it could have been resolved, obviously not. The game that just keeps giving!!!! 🤬 #Gutted

Those beginners clubs were always a curse anyway. Shouldn't be in the game.
