The blatant bullsht spewed by Trump that doctors are getting $2,000 for every dead covid patient is the most abhorrent, despicable, disgusting, asinine, irresponsible and dangerous purveying of misinformation I’ve ever witnessed in open public. The fck was that sht? Seriously, WHAT THE FCK WAS THAT SHT? He just endangered the lives every of doctor and other medical workers because there are people who believe every breadcrumb of sewage that comes out of his mouth. They will seek to act on his behalf. If anyone in here thinks it is true, I am calling you out right here, right now, to PROVE it. Show me a doctor getting paid $2,000 for a covid death. Don’t give me some bullsht conspiracy theory website or altered photos and videos that the a$$holes at QANON uses. SHOW ME THE MONEY. If you can’t, you owe all of our doctors a really big apology for believing that had one shred of truth to it. Yea. That sht really triggered me and I’m proud to stand up for these doctors and the frontline workers who put their lives on the line everyday while Trump trolls mock them behind a keyboard. This was brought up back in April and was mentioned medicare would pay $13K for every eligible case at a hospital. I found on one ABC news channel website that was looking into this in July in California that 63 hospitals in that state received $50k for each eligible coronavirus patient they admitted between Jan 1 and June 10 2020 in federal relief money. I remember on this thread it being discussed about people being killed in car accidents and being tested for Covid. I'm sure there's a few instances where cause of death was put down as Covid just to get a piece of the $10B pie thats already been payed out to hospitals.

My friend's uncle in law died 3 days ago as a result of liver failure and the death was labeled as COVID. There have been many instances that I have encountered in the past 6 or 7 months with similar instances where a person has succumbed to a disease or ailment other than COVID and if it isn't definitive it is labeled as a COVID death. I am not knocking healthcare workers themselves, it is not their fault whatsoever and I feel horrible that they are in this mess and working the extra hours but it is the hospitals themselves who create this incentive. I know three people who are in the healthcare system and they have basically worked double hours for seven months. They are truly heroes, that being said though, business is business and most times if someone can create extra dollars in their pocket they will exploit the loophole.

I find it so interesting how for example and their are many examples of this but in the past 3 days there have been over 220,000 positive cases in the United States. Australia last three days, 28 combined cases. Yes Australia is an island but it looks like they are doing a great job mitigating the spread locally. I read something that there active cases are at a four month low. Over 25 million residents and 28 cases, this means that in 75 million opportunities they have only 28 positive outcomes, talk about mitigation done brilliantly.
So many other countries like this as well. Bottom line is American's are just selfish and want short term solutions to long term problems. Am I scared of Covid? No but I am not being stupid about it. I am golfing safely twice a week and my wife and I eat out once a week but we elect for outdoor seating and we eat and leave within 45 minutes. We do not linger in bars for hours or go partying with friends or travel via planes, etc. We are still honing a balance and have stayed safe doing so, without going insane.

Trump said doctors are being paid $2000 for each dead covid body. The implication that doctors and nurses are profiting privately is what he did. I believe the Medicare money you are doing talking about is paying the hospital for the medical bills of that person like it always has. And if it’s it’s only $50k that’s one hell of a deal. But I’m not sure you are completely correct so link me to verifiable collaborative data so I can read it. But let’s just say, for one crazy minute, that it was true. If Trump knew it, why didn’t he change or stop it? Because the implications he is trying to insinuate are not true. He’s a prick, throwing the very people who saved his life under the bus (if you believe he had covid in the first place). Link me the info you mentioned if you have it. I’m happy to review it.

Happy you are being careful bud. Yes, please stay safe. BUT...Not ALL Americans are selfish. Most of us are following the guidelines. I do not take offense at your comment because the current leadership is the cause of other countries looking at the USA in this manner. My wife and I have learned to cook some fantastic meals during this pandemic, so the eating out is a moot point with us. Haven't been in a bar in over 30 years, never fly anywhere anymore (did plenty of that in the USAF and the wife hates flying anyways). As for parties...I miss the backyard neighborhood BBQ get togethers/block parties and listening to the neighborhood kids out and about. That is the one thing I find odd, hardly any kids play outdoors right now, yet when you go into the stores there are NO bicycles. Where are these bicycles being ridden? I live close to a beautiful bike path that goes through a beautiful woodland setting and it is barely being used. So I ask again, where are the bikes? Life will go on and tomorrow is election day. Hoping for some great news but I will live with whatever result occur.

If you scroll down to the “what we found” section there are a few links to cdc sites. Top link is the legal type jargon, 2nd one breaks it down by hospital, city, state and what they were given. 3rd is state, # of providers and total.......smaller version of the 2nd link I guess. I assume this funding comes from the cares act bill that was given to him and he signed. That 2nd link is interesting as you can see exactly which hospitals are getting what. Stay safe everyone, hopefully some of you took the most interesting man in the worlds advice........hands up if you knew he lived in Vermont lol

So this pretty much supports exactly what I said and none of the conspiracy theory that anti-democracy Trump said. It’s money for hospitals to cover costs. It’s a limited 20% increase in existing cost coverage between January thru June. Apples and oranges couldn’t be more different It’s definitely not what what Trump was gaslighting. Not even close. If it is, then he is more of a moron than I thought he was and that’s a really hard level to reach. Like Boss-level Moron. It would mean 1) he had no idea what he was signing and 2) he is complaining about something he approved, signed off on and then touted as something he did to help. Adding this for further supporting evidence from Factcheck.org >> www.factcheck.org/2020/10/trump-baselessly-suggests-covid-19-deaths-inflated-for-profit/My wife spent a total of 3 weeks in the hospital with her covid case. And she was not even ICU. We haven’t received any invoices yet to show us what it cost her Medicare (not Medicaid). Feel free to take a guess what the bill was while we wait for it to arrive. Thanks again bro.

Across the country, cases of COVID-19 are increasing at an alarming pace. In the last seven days, more than 500,000 people were diagnosed with COVID-19, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. And a growing number of people have no idea how they contracted the virus, doctors say.
“It’s increasingly becoming common” for patients to not know how they got COVID-19, Dr. Amesh A. Adalja, a senior scholar at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, tells Yahoo Life. Dr. Richard Watkins, an infectious disease physician and professor of internal medicine at the Northeast Ohio Medical University, agrees. He tells Yahoo Life that “lately, most of” his patients don’t know where they contracted the virus. The same is true for Dr. Rajeev Fernando, an infectious disease expert in Southampton, N.Y. For many of his patients, “it’s because people tell me they’ve not been wearing masks as they should,” he tells Yahoo Life.
This trend says a lot about the virus and where things are headed, Dr. William Schaffner, an infectious disease specialist and professor at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, tells Yahoo Life. “The virus can spread from people who have no symptoms or who are asymptomatic,” he says. “It’s now spreading in a way that people experience when they get the common cold. They wonder, ‘Where did I get that?’ and it can be difficult to really know the answer. This is an indication of how widely spread the virus has become in our communities.”

More than 61,000 children in the U.S. were diagnosed with COVID-19 last week — more than in any other week during the pandemic, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Children's Hospital Association reported Monday.
In all, 853,635 children have been diagnosed with the virus this year, representing 11.1% of all U.S. cases. The percentage of pediatric cases has risen steadily since mid-April, when children accounted for just 2% of COVID-19 cases in the country.
"This is a stark reminder of the impact this pandemic is having on everyone — including our children and adolescents," Dr. Sally Goza, president of the American Academy of Pediatrics, said in a news release. The organization updates the number of children with COVID-19 weekly, using state health department data.
The organization said it believes the true number of children with COVID-19 is higher because the illness tends to be mild in kids and because they may not always be tested.
Children accounted for less than 3.5% of current COVID-19 hospitalizations, the report found. As of Thursday, 121 children had died.

Dr. Deborah Birx, coordinator of the White House coronavirus task force, urged the Trump administration in an internal memo to take “much more aggressive action” to tackle COVID-19, The Washington Post reported.
“We are entering the most concerning and most deadly phase of this pandemic … leading to increasing mortality,” Birx wrote Monday in a report for top White House officials, according to the Post. “This is not about lockdowns — It hasn’t been about lockdowns since March or April. It’s about an aggressive balanced approach that is not being implemented.”

Haven't posted in here for a long time, and will remain away after this because, whilst I don't care, away from this forum, about being challenged and attacked, inside the forum, being attacked privately and in public by admins wasn't a pleasant experience.
However, as this election is down to the wire, and covid has been probably the biggest single issue influencing voters, i think this video needs to be seen. You need a f'ing good memory and to be constantly reading stuff to keep on top of every screw up and personal faux pas Trump has comitted throughout this crisis, so it's no wonder people forget this stuff.
It shows how, every step of the way, not only did Trump not do the necessary things, despite having more knowledge than he let on, long before he let on, he actively undermined the necessary things! And then you get a lovely reminder too of what a narcissistic, lying, bufoon he is, bordering on sociopathic. Think i'm exggerating? Being a "snowflake?" Watch the pens bit and tell me that's a normal human being, never mind a president...
It's 20 minutes long, so imagine many won't bother, certainly not the Trump fans. Trump fans are good at ignoring and remaining uninformed. The bits criticising Trump's personality are obviously opinion, the bits criticising the covid response can't be denied, they are literal facts about what was done, (or more importantly NOT done!) and when.
