Played my first two rounds in favourable 5mph winds. Shot a 61 and and 62 too sit at 21 under at the 36 hole mark. Wasn't looking good in 2nd round, was 2 under after 9, but tore up the back nine and shot an 8 under to save the round. 1st round my front nine was key and 2nd round the back 9. Now need to put it all together.
edit: and put it together I didn't. 3 under 69 for 3rd round. Livid.

Yuck, uninspired rounds of 67-67 to start, that w 0-4 mph winds. Shot squirt was beyond brutal, seemingly effed me every hole. No matter which side of the flag I would try to leave myself to compensate for the overall green brutality, the ball would squirt to the opposite side. Difficulty of greens is one thing, but I found these to be unplayable, having to aim 4 ft putts 5 cup widths outside and 4 ft putts travelling 43 feet by breathing on the ball is just unenjoyable. Kudos to those that managed to post good numbers. Going to wait n see where -10 stands thru 2 rounds on the leaderboard before I play 3 & 4, quite frankly won't be upset if I can skip the ordeal.

I love how so many have complained about the greens. Personally, I thought the greens were tricky, (NOT TRICKED) and fair.
After a disaster filled 1st round (suffice it to say by far my worst round on tour this season) I came back with 64 in the 2nd round, and 65 in the third.
The 1st round, I could not buy a putt. Nothing wrong with the greens, just very poor putting on my part, can't even count the number of 3 putts in that round.
Again, that was just me, not the course.
Loved the course, and wish we had more like it on our tours.

I agree. As I posted in Canuck's thread looking for feedback, I think these are the sorts of greens we should be seeing every week. Really puts some risk/reward into putting. i.e. sometimes you are faced with a situation where just figuring out how to get a 2 putt, get your par, and get out is the right way to go.

Absolutely - look at the scoring this week, and compare it to what it's gonna be next week. Had an early practise at next week's course for the first time yesterday, in 15+MPH winds, and was -8 after 7 holes. Enough said really.
The greens this week are difficult, but definitely not impossible or unfair.

I'm dreading next week. Not that it's a bad course by any stretch, but it's just not difficult enough for this crew. I would hazard a guess that it will have a winning score of less than -60 and will probably take better than -22 to make the cut.

At least -22 to make the cut. Possibility of a score better than -70 to win! Someone on the Xbox has already hit -21 in practise!

I would hazard a guess that it will have a winning score of less than -60 and will probably take better than -22 to make the cut. I will trump that and say the winner will shoot at least -70! That course is a birdie/eagle fest! Nice course tho As for this week, I absolutely loved the first 5/6 holes being so tricky on the greens, really have to earn them birds. Although I under performed I really enjoyed my rounds

Wow. You guys really think -70? That's scary. But can't argue it... it seems possible. As they say on TV, these guys are good.
Well, I'll try to enjoy this week while it lasts then (if I can squeak in and make the cut).

Not a bad course. Greens weren't great but what spoilt it a bit for me was the pin positions. I understand making the courses harder but pins on the middle of slopes like that is unrealistic. I much prefer subtle breaks that can be unpredictable. I hope this is seen more as constructive criticism but i wonder if too much emphasis is being put on neat planting and aesthetics than solid strategic design.

I shot 16 under on next weeks course earlier (including a bogey that really should have been a birdie had i been concentrating)
Eagled all 4 Par 5s
If i can do 17 or 18 i dread to think what the good players will do

I just can`t go really low on this course as I just seem to dumb to hit certain greens and or find the right side of the green. I think it is hole number 12 (dogleg to the left, approx 380 yds Par 4): I wanted to stay right from the flag. I just could not do it a single time. And I just do not know why the ball went so much to the left (and downhill off the green). And there are a few other holes which left me clueless, even after around half a dozen training rounds and 4 tournament rounds.
But I really like the course. I take such a course ten times over a -60 birdie festival. I just think that some tees are not plain. Future course designers should take special interest in constructing plain tees.

I understand that this course is tougher, and I don't mind a few holes on slopes, but over and over again it got to me. I think that with the way the game is now, players will tear apart every course. The leaders are still on pace to a -52 for the week. The middle of the pack will just be further back, I dont mind harder courses but it just creates a larger disparity from the middle of the field. This course didnt fit how I like to play but its not going to stop the scoring for the top players is my point.

This course is perfectly fine. There is nothing wrong with the greens. All the pins were fair. if you leave yourself in bad positions obviously you are going to be in trouble. if you cant putt youre obviously going to be in trouble. but people should not be going into these courses thinking that birdie is actually par. people are getting too caught up in whether or not they have a realistic chance at birdie on every hole. you have to pick your spots on this course if you hit awful shots just have to try and save par...its a lot closer to real golf than the tamer courses we have been playing IMO
This was probably one of my favorite courses i have played on tour so far.
