Im sorry mav78, I have to disagree with you regarding next weeks course, im afraid I see it as a pitch and putt contest, the winning score next week will be easily in between -60 to -70. This weeks course was much more enjoyable to play than what next weeks will be, it will be a case of hit a par and it may as well be a bogey, just my opinion. Totally agree. Next week is gunna be ridiculous. The cut is gunna be so low. I love Lunenberg shot 65, 63 and really had to work to get there, but loved every minute of it. Some of these guys think if they don't birdie or eagle every hole its a bad thing. Obvious they are the ones that don't play golf in real life or just don't like a challenge requiring thought and patience. Just my opinion. Like the guy talking about just cant keep the ball on the green on a certain hole(above). Watch a PGA event and look at the tiers on there greens. Even courses around my neck of the woods have some greens that are just fierce. To me birdie every hole is something u should do on arcade golf.

Back to this tournament - it's a weird feeling being very near the top after 3 rounds! I presume one of the "big boys" on the PS4 or PC has finished on or higher than -44 though?

Listen I totally understand what your saying, and I agree to a point. I am just saying from a real life point of view its a good course and low scoring events do have there place. It's not the designers fault the game is easy. Golf games are never any different, I played pga 97, links, tiger now tgc and eventually u shoot silly scores. I don't believe in putting pins in the middle 15 downhill slopes realistic. You spout realism, i work on a golf course and change pins often and have for tournys, there is not many of them positions I wouldn't have had to change, probably after my bosses size 12 Scottish boot in my arse.
There was one hole a short par 4 with water on the left. I hit knock down wedge just short and rolled 30 ft back, fine. I hit wedge past hole spun back 30 ft, ok i then hit past pin, putted 1 ft past and ran off the green. Trust me u wouldn't put a us open hole there. I got no problem with the course it just wasn't to my liking that's just opinion and most disagree with me which is fine. I just don't like fancy planting alone the course needs more. If i carry a heroic shot over a bunker i want reward i want a nice clear shot to the green without any bunkers to carry or a back slope on the green at a nice angle if i take it tight to the tree line. That's my idea of good design not aesthetics.
I play golf to a low handicap and with my job as a vocation it's half of my life so i am qualified for an opinion, no need for arsey comments fella

What wanker greens/pins. And it doesnt help when bloody wind is steady about 14-20, of course into on all the long holes, and tail on par 3s, so impossible to stop. 1 out of 10 for tournament. Good luck next week.

The play is hitting it right of the pin about pin high with a pitch shot. Spun back 3 inches for a four foot putt for birdie. The shot I don't have a problem with, each hole you gotta play a little different. My problem with the hole is even with wind going towards the right, the fairway slopes left and seemingly no matter how much you adjust the ball WANTS to go to the left. I had to aim off the green on the right, with the wind going right and slope left to hit that pitch shot i described. Overall it was a good, challenging course. I'm not saying it was Magnolia tough but it sure kept me on my toes and ate me for lunch when I got complacent.

Yes a lot of courses are like that. They have there place but not too much, if u want to make holes with tougher approaches add some small subtle tump and hillocks on the landing area or make it wide and dead flat on a three wood landing area so people may opt for that route

I love this course, the layout would be so sweet for my RL 14 handicap. But TGC we looking at -12 average I reckon. I have only done about -8 so no doubt I will be missing the cut. The courses are not the issue.

Well, tied for 1st, but no win as I hit the highest final round. But really pleased with myself to be tied with those two great players. Nice pay day for me!

So you should be pleased! that was great shooting on that course and you was unlucky to not get the job done. Bet you can look back at one single shot that only just slipped by which wouldve give u the win lol
