I can't remember when Madden went away from steam and PCs.
I know Brady beat the curse (as he is still playing), and Drew Brees also. But not sure if they were on the cover during the pc availability days.
My point is, could it be that the curse got broken when the game went away from PCs/Steam, and now that its back the curse will reset?
hmmmm, something to think about. hahaha.

I think Redtails will be the name. Logo will be similar, colours will stay the same.
The bonus of a name change is merch sales.
Gonna make a lot of money off of that!

Question: does Lamar Jackson rise above the Madden curse like Mahomes last year, or will he fall victim? I’m not sure there will be an NFL or college season at this point. Lamar is probably safe. Madden and Flutie football may be the only football we get until 2021. We will survive though. Mahomes did have a fairly serious injury. He dislocated his kneecap. Incredibly he only missed a couple of games. When it first happened peeps were all on that Madden curse with him because it appeared he would be out for much longer than he was. Has anyone played Flutie Football?? I know that you can play the game with both NFL and CFL but I haven’t seen or heard much about this game. 2k football is coming back this year but as a non-sim for at least this season as EA still has the exclusive liscense for a sim NFL game. But after that!!... 2K is back baby !!! Madden football is just like the rest of the EA Sports titles.... crap! |

It was an ambitious effort last year but the game engine they used just wasn’t up to par. Gameplay was pretty choppy. But apparently they have moved to the Unity engine and the people at Unity are helping. That should be a big improvement so I will try it again. There were no licensed teams in Flutie but you could edit everything to get it there if you wanted to. Very time consuming. They didn’t have any portals via console where we could upload/download teams and rosters like NCAA or Madden. Maybe this year although I haven’t seen anything about that kind of feature. I never liked the 2K football game. I thought the general public overrated it just because it was 20 bucks. Having to continuously mash a button to run full speed was not a good time to me. I did enjoy the In The Helmet mode though. That was fun. If their new non-sim game has that mode I might get it just for that. |

My guess is that its gonna be Redtails also. That satisfies two different aspects of correctness or whatever, and most people seem ok with it. Riveria has had a hand in the picking of the name, and from the get go he wanted something that honored the military.
As far as Flutie Football, I've never even heard of that, and googling it, I can't find anything.
I remember liking the 2K football, but can't remember much about the game play.
If anyone wants a GREAT substitute for Madden, Mutanut Football league is awesome. They basically just changed all the team names and player names to monster versions and went with it. The cool thing is they do roster updates, and basically do what EA should have down with Madden instead of greedily trying to sell a whole new game every year.
