"One witness told cops they had met Baker and Dunbar at a party a few days earlier in Miami -- at which the NFL players had "lost" around $70,000. Our sources tell us the men had "lost" the money in high-stakes card games and other forms of gambling. Sounds like maybe they were set up in a sort of "rounders" type deal and wanted their money back? Who knows. Caught it up in somthing though. Not even remotely rational to think they wouldn't get caught. Maybe they have Art Schlichter Syndrome. For those who don't know Art: > en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Art_SchlichterNo doubt. Really makes you wonder how many of these guys would lie down on the field cash in on a few "bonus" cheques.

I wonder if the NFL bosses are planning on some sort of "camp"...these players won't be in any shape to play even 1/2 a season. I know the Bucs new QB has been practicing with his receivers as are quite a few other QBs.

There is an expectation in the NFL that players keep themselves fit and in shape during the offseason, but official training camps never start until mid to late July. Before then its completely up to the individual. The current expectation for this season isn't any different, yet... "Per NFL rules, teams can't start training camp with a full roster earlier than 15 days before their first scheduled preseason game or July 15, depending on whichever is later. Rookies and first-year players, meanwhile, are allowed to begin training camp a week before the veterans report."

An NFL rule proposal to eliminate onside kicks is reportedly gaining steam. If it passes, it has the potential of making the rich even richer. The NFL is reportedly considering a proposal that would replace the onside kick with a fourth-and-15 situation. Instead of kicking off, teams would have a chance to retain possession of the football if they convert from their own 25-yard line. This would inherently provide an added edge to teams that already have one in the form of high-powered offenses led by elite quarterbacks. Teams would reportedly be permitted to use the rule twice in a game, meaning teams with forward-thinking coaches willing to gamble on their elite quarterbacks could exploit the new edge multiple times per game. Kansas City Chiefs, anyone? sports.yahoo.com/andy-reid-thinks-replacing-onside-kicks-would-give-chiefs-an-edge-and-hes-right-223406427.htmlIf this gives teams like the Chiefs an edge, then why aren't they converting every 4th down and going for 2 points after every td?

The LOS is the 30, not the 25. 2. It’s 4th and 20. 3. No limit on attempts

totally agree with this statement!
nevadaballin why the 30 and not the 25? The 25 would be a bit more riskier even, but you only moved it 5 yrds?
The rule I really REALLY wish they would change is overtime. I wish they would make it more like college. If time runs out, and the game is tied, simply give each team 4 downs with the ball at the opponents 25 yrd line and then see what the score is. If still tied, give each team 4 more downs at the 30. keep moving it back five yds until its not tied anymore after both teams have had a chance with 4 downs from the same spot.

In case of a failed attempt. I don’t want to see the other team be in a position to kick a FG from the 42 (if they go 3 and out). Attempting that 47 yd FG adds some decision making to be done in one score games. As it stands now, an onside recovered without advancement puts the receiving team on the 45.

Makes sense.
But I just saw where the 4 and 15 alternative got tabled today, so the onside kick lives on!

Cam Newton to the Patriots!!
Things just got interesting. Be interesting to see if they keep him the whole year or cut him before the season starts, probably depends on how he looks after that ankle injury. I see the Pats were fined $1.1M and lost a 3rd round 2021 draft pick after filming the Browns last season, they should have made out they were doing a Progressive commercial. Couldn't get away from those last season.

Question: does Lamar Jackson rise above the Madden curse like Mahomes last year, or will he fall victim?

Question: does Lamar Jackson rise above the Madden curse like Mahomes last year, or will he fall victim? I’m not sure there will be an NFL or college season at this point. Lamar is probably safe. Madden and Flutie football may be the only football we get until 2021. We will survive though. Mahomes did have a fairly serious injury. He dislocated his kneecap. Incredibly he only missed a couple of games. When it first happened peeps were all on that Madden curse with him because it appeared he would be out for much longer than he was.

I meant Mahomes from the standpoint of maintaining a high level of play considering the severity of his injury. I will be honest when he got injured I thought to myself F U Madden curse lol fortunately, he came back from injury so damn fast and put together amazing football.
