My biggest take away from all of this is that America us woefully unprepared for any real foreign invasion of any type.
Everything seems to catch us flat footed.

Be very careful not to follow the advice of people who say "I think...." A lot of damage is being done, if only in terms of the amount of worry and behaviour of people to each other, if not physical damage, by loads of misinformation and opinions being spread about. Follow the advice of doctors and scientists, they have the most knowledge and the most experience. I think that 2+2 = 4. Just a thought.

It's from a French biomedical company. I have read and heard multiple reports that these two drugs combined reduce the viral load. Whatever is clever though don't read it because it's not from MSNBC or CNN who are so credible. Lol. If Trump cured CV 19 with his spray tan he would be blamed for not doing it sooner. There is no winning no matter what he does. No matter what anyone did or didn't do this was coming. If you think governments is the answer then you are already @!$#ed. It's a last resort not a first option. The most amusing part is Trump did shutdown air travel from China in January. He then was criticised for it. nationalfile.com/flashback-biden-opposed-trumps-chinese-coronavirus-travel-ban-as-xenophobia/Can't win. I forgot how exhausting this is. I'll keep you guys updated through my wife first hand experience with this but I'm staying out if the political bs. Stay safe.

The medical advice I've been quoting quite literally IS based on maths, how past viruses have spread, human to human contact rates and spread, models etc. You'll have to explain to me what maths you're using here. Not having a go, genuinely interested.

One of the dangerous things here is a battle between people who are quoting scientists and medical experts and people who are INTERPRETING things they are seeing or being told by people.
Someone telling you something and then you passing on your idea of what that means is not going to go well.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion, of course, especially on the political stuff, but talking about stuff to do with the virus based off your own interpretation of what you're seeing is a very bad idea, and irresponsible.

I remember this scene from man in the high castle... Is this a normal thing to do in America?

I may be crazy but I don't see what's wrong with saying the Pledge.

Just a suggestion, but if anyone is looking for answers they should probably be looking on a medical or government website and not an online golf video game sub forum. As for the politics, like Jimmy said, America was woefully underprepared, but some credit should be given to Trump for the travel ban back in January. If democrats are going to point fingers they should be taking a long look at themselves too as all we heard from them in January was to impeach Trump. One of the satellite radio stations I listen to coming home from work has been talking about this virus since December and how bad it would be considering China was shutting everything down seeing as they dont have the best of track records with human rights, so alarm bells should have been ringing. Maybe governments will realize its probably not a great idea to rely on China for 90% of the worlds drug ingredients or PPE and start making their own, is it really worth the savings from cheap labour if you dont have access to it in times of need. The same station the other night was talking to a head doctor at one of the small regional hospitals 50 miles from where I live and they asked her if she was worried about if they had adequate supplies of ventilators. We’ve got plenty she said, when asked how many her reply was 8. I hope that is plenty, as that doesn’t sound like much. My father in law, his wife, step daughter and family are now in self isolation. Turns out his step granddaughter who works at the local hospital came into contact last friday with someone who tested positive on monday. She had visited my father in law sunday, so they have to do 2 weeks of isolation. We stopped over there on saturday so we narrowly missed that ourselves. So far they have shown no signs of having caught anything though.

But everything I know about British pandemic response is that you go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all this to blow over. Now that the pubs are closed do you have some sort of backup plan? Haha! I wouldn't be seen dead in the Winchester! Duke of Wellington is my local. (Yes, really...) I think our plan is to trust Boris, and if he's struggling, ask orange Don for help, so I'm hopeful... Working as I do on security in a supermarket in the UK, I can tell you we are still getting teenagers/young people in store. We have free wifi and they come in with little or no intention of buying anything. I am waiting for directions to stop them at the door - it has to happen. In general far too many people here appear to be living their lives very like before the virus, and if young and by all accounts at low risk themselves, will be spreading this virus.

Put a password on that sucker and only give it to those who need it.

Is there any more data/info on those who have recovered and have experienced 20-30% loss in lung function?

Well yes, obviously that is true, and was pretty much my point as well?! And yet, people don't always do the "right" thing, do they. The spread of misinformation on social media has been a huge issue with this, so I think it was sensible of me to point this out.
