My post may have been misunderstood a bit. I was just disappointed to see my course not played from the intended tees for the contest. As this can be easily lost in a course description and mine was fairly large, I will try to bold type and color it in my post in the future. As far as other issues, I wasn’t surprised to get cut and I understand there were plenty of other things wrong with the course. Thanks to everyone for listening. Good luck to the other courses moving forward. I hope to join the next contest and use the feedback to make a better course next time.

I really think Bradshaw Hallows should have made it through, but what do I know.

For those interested in feedback, all of my playthroughs will be at the link below. I'll release each video once the course is eliminated. I wanted to make them public as I learned so much from Reeb, Mayo and Matt's playthroughs of all courses (not just mine) from contests last year and think watching some critiques is easily the best thing you can do to develop an eye for detail and understanding of design. Disclaimer in case I don't mention at the start: all of these are from my first of at least two playthroughs of the course so you get initial reactions, there will be things you agree with and things you don't and I don't give exact scores. Hopefully I mention lots of stuff I liked, but due to the nature of the task, a lot of it will be things I might have liked to see differently and explanations as to why. Designers whose courses I judged, feel free to get in contact if you want to discuss further or explore some of these comments. Above all, I hope these help. www.youtube.com/channel/UC1WwX4dvKq9MoTRXWBfQwzAThese reviews are of high quality and well worth the time to watch. The feedback is well balanced and right on point. I agreed with all of the comments and had things pointed out that I didn't catch in my designing and testing. One thing I didn't realize was how different my course played from the back decks - most of my thought went into the middle decks and now see how unfair and different the course was from the pro decks. Certainly a mistake I won't make again in my designs and when considering courses for competitions. I appreciate the hour out of B101's life that was spent to help me improve my design skills and better understand how to navigate this designer software. That's pretty amazing and I'm grateful and have a TON of respect for taking the time.

Thanks, Jerry. I do appreciate that my very in-depth looks at courses may come across as overly nitpicky or (hopefully not) negative, so I'm glad you found it useful. The way I viewed it was that I have about an hour where I'll dig into every part of the course and let you know all of my thoughts and the video allows me to point things out without any ambiguity. When I started out, I always liked it when Reeb, Mayo, Jason, Eric, Andre, Dan, Matt, Petty etc etc. gave me everything they had, no matter how nitpicky and I could choose what I deemed to be feedback that was on-point and what was stuff that didn't fit my vision. There have also definitely been occasions when I disagreed with the feedback at the time, but a couple of weeks removed from the immediacy of it, I saw where they were coming from.
With all of the courses I judged, I tried to see it from the designer's point of view rather than having my own belief of how the course 'should' be. To those whose courses I judged, do please feel free to be in contact either to discuss this course or future courses at any time. The beauty of the giant field here is that hopefully we have 50 odd designers who get noticed and come out of it stronger designers. That's really exciting for us all moving forward.

I watched mine this morning and it was pretty much on point in every aspect. Despite the huge window, Milhaven was fairly rushed due to limited downtime and I overlooked the whopping back 9 distance. I also basically forgot this was for CC players in particular, and the tips are too much for Pro clubs. I overkilled the tiered greens, and I need to think “less is more” a bit more when it comes to my water area planting. Also Ben hates flowers.

Also Ben hates flowers. Ha - nailed it. Be thankful you didn't use palms, birches or willows (or if you did, that I didn't see them )

Lucky for me I only used a few (hundred) palm trees on my course... even luckier that they’re really not that noticeable...

Assuming everything is on schedule, will there be a stream of some sort. The little woman is trying to plan a camping trip that weekend. If so, I may need help sabotaging an RV.

Hoping finalists announced around Aug. 1 and the winner Aug. 8, depending on how fiesty things get in the judges' room. Would only stream final results. If you're in a pinch, notaburneracct could be your stunt double for the camping trip

Speaking of that notaburneracct guy, I think he needs to start pulling for the top 5 alphasands courses in the game again to help squeeze at least one of them through.

Speaking of that notaburneracct guy, I think he needs to start pulling for the top 5 alphasands courses in the game again to help squeeze at least one of them through. As much fun as that was, half the field just got cut. A few guys I'd consider friends (or at least acquaintances) didn't make it, with good courses. As much as I'd love to shove my course down your throats for the next week or so, I'd also be shoving it down theirs. So there's always next year for them shenanigans.
