Overview
Promotion events are a quick way to move up the tours with good play. Everyone outside of the PGA is eligible so make sure to join the TGCT (Special Events) society and play if you're looking to move up! - TGCTours (Special Events) society is hosting the event
Each tour will be monitored for active users. If the average field size is below the ideal field size (see below) we'll add those slots to the Promotional Event. - There will be a trickle down effect as people promote up from various tours/flights - we'll do our best to ensure that following a Promotion Event each tour/flight will meet the ideal field size going forward.
- All active members will be auto-registered
- Participation is optional
- PGA players are excluded since they can not promote any further
- Master clubs required to promote to a Pro Tour (PGA, European, Korn Ferry)
- you can play both your regular tour event and the promotional event
- you can promote through multiple flights/tours with good play
- you can not be demoted
TGCT Promotion Event #5 - Slots available (TBA)
The tours are overfull - projected slots available TBA
NotesParticipation has gone off the charts since Promo Event #4 - will likely be less promotion slots available than usual. The ideal tour sizes will be our largest yet.
Tiebreakers - Masters Club over Pro Clubs
- Lowest 4th round score, then 3rd, 2nd, 1st (Leaderboard will automatically sort via this)
- If still tied, countback from H18 in R4

I guess there's been a bit of a problem with the Promotion Event scores as I'm down as +2 and I haven't teed off yet. Depending on how my first round goes I might just take the +2 round 😂.

I think everything is great with the leaderboard. I haven't even played, and I'm in 9th place at -11. (I think it must be picking up scores from last year's 1st promotion event).

Leaderboards should be fixed - was pulling scores from last year initially.

What do the negative slot numbers mean? I notice some tours have -2 spots.

What do the negative slot numbers mean? I notice some tours have -2 spots. -2 means at least 3 members for that flight/tour would have to be promoted before an open slot becomes available. if 142 people are initially in CC-E and as we work down from PGA to CC-D 15 from CC-E get promoted - when it comes to how many actual CC-E slots are available it'd be -2 + 15 = 13 slots available. The trickle down effect is fairly exponential - so by the time we get to CC-Am there will likely be close to 30-40 slots available for each tour. You can see an example of how this worked for last season here - CC-E had -35 slots available but also had 61 promote out of CC-E - so the actual CC-E slots available ended up being 26 for those in CC-F, G and Z. This is why if you are looking to move up we encourage you to play - there are usually 300-400 promotions given out during promotion events. The more that play the better the system works - especially in CC-Am.

Would be helpful to know for the slots available..
Thanks - For reference, check out last year's results..

Yes, on the list of to-dos. For now you can use the Master/Pro club filters to separate clubset but we'll add the tour cards and clubset soon to the leaderboards.

Well I started off strong with a -11 for the first round which placed me 10th out of 440 players. Second round I only shot -8 and then third round I bounced back with a -11 which gave me -30 after 3 rounds. I felt like I needed at least a -10 in the fourth round to have a decent chance to promote to CC-A from CC-B. Sadly I played miserably and only shot a -7 in the final round for a total score of -37. I'm guessing my chances of promoting are less than 1%. Maybe next promotion event I can play good all four rounds.

That is if you are a master club user. If pro, I'd say you have CC-A easily based on previous promotion experience.
