Maybe it's time to " LIMIT" how many times, any given designer, can have one of his courses played on tour, per year, or season. Seems a few designers have more than their fair share, being selected. Not sayin' anything bad about the courses, but there are plenty of great courses submitted, by lots of talented designers, And they are not getting courses on any tours. Link to all 272 courses on tour since 01/01/2018 to 09/29/2019

If the courses are good then what does it matter who designed it?
Just come right out and say who you think is getting too many or stop beating around the bush?
could it be because the last name Jensen isnt on the list?
Just asking

I'm pretty sure that all of us who have been around since the TGC1 days now what the real problem is here. We have nowhere near enough Oceanic Athletic Club on the schedule.

I can see your point here but I don't think limiting the amount of courses by a designer is a good solution. For instance say there's a limit of 2 courses and a designer publishes 3 courses and their first 2 have been used, it would make the 3rd course however good it is invalid for a slot. I don't know if you have already but I'd suggest sending a PM to a scheduler to ask about getting a course on tour.
As you say there's lots of good courses and designers out there and getting a tour slot can encourage designers to continue designing. So yeah I'd like to see more guys get courses on tour and hopefully keep an ever growing pool of designers.

Just asking Not at all ... but, there is no need to be a a##!0#l ... I was making a suggestion ... And not condemning anyone. Just saying there are only so many tours and in order to give more designers a chance to get on tour, there should be a little more exposure for others. I can care less about my courses on tour, I do not even play on the tours anymore because of replies like this ... And don't expect to ever see any of my courses played anytime soon on TGCT ... But you and your clan continue to do what you do best. Carry on.

I actually don’t take offense to that, because “what we do best” is donate tour worthy courses for the community’s enjoyment. 😉
If they get picked for a tour, that’s a bonus.

I wouldn't have even done this, if not that someone posted a rant about not getting a course played on tour ...
Which made me wonder, just how the courses were being selected.
As I stated, I have accepted none of my courses will see time on tour, anytime soon.
And I don't care to go into the reasonings. This is just the way it is going to remain.
And I guess it's foolish to continue submitting my courses.

Dawg, it’s all in good fun, don’t take things too seriously.
Might I suggest that the approach to getting your courses selected could be different? From my perspective, you don’t post all the much, and when you do it reads as passive aggressive comments against people or the Tours. I’m guessing that if all things are equal, that’s not endearing anyone to your cause.

This is not the same TGCT, that I joined when it first was founded. I do, give you credit for investing the huge amount of time you have, regardless of our disagreements ... you always tried to remain fair. You should be honored for that.

Short answer, no.
Schedulers should always strive to put the best courses on tour, regardless of the designer's name (and do a damn good job of it, IMO). Now, if it's a toss up between two courses of equal merit, I would probably give the nod to the newer designer, but again it needs to be about the COURSE and not a designer ... we don't play the designer, we play the course.
Do some designers get more courses on tour than others? Probably, but, in general, it's because their courses are consistently good to great.
And, keep in mind, this community does plenty to promote new and up-and-coming designers. We're in the middle of our second rookie design contest, not to mention what Dwain & Geoff did with Diamonds in the Rough on What's Going On?! ... which Scobb, Jack and I have tried to carry forward on The Diamond Cutters.
Those who want to see different designers get on tour can champion their cause by promoting the courses they thing are worthy of the plays. Comment on the course threads, throw up suggestions in the course suggestion threads. Make suggestions to the schedulers, or to guys playing newer/lesser-known courses on stream, and do it respectfully! You're going to have a much more receptive audience when you say, "Hey, John Doe Country Club is really good. I think you should check it out," as opposed to saying, "I can't believe John Doe Country Club hasn't gotten on tour. Obviously, you guys are disrespecting it and catering to a select few."
That's my $0.02 on the matter.

The thing is, last season had more designers getting their first tour course than ever before, across all tours. It has increased each year over the past few years. A lot of that is down to newer designers watching tutorials and the fantastic job more established designers do with streaming course design sessions as well as answering questions on those streams. Schedulers do keep a eye out for newer designers but we are not going to turn down a course from a established designer if we think it deserves a tour spot. Look at the list of designers on the web for last season and you will see a lot of different names. We have been through all this before, there is a clique, only friends courses get on tour, it’s all bullshit, every course had a equal chance of getting selected, not all courses will because of the share number of courses. Putting a limit on the number of courses a designer can have on tour would be detrimental to the tours themselves, tour spots are earned and if the course is good enough, no matter the designer, it deserves its slot.
