Swing data from your round is analyzed and if in the range of 'too perfect' (i.e. like a robot) the scores are pulled from the leaderboard, and the user is notified of the fault. I certainly don't have that problem!

I’m still at a loss at how this all works or what is factored in. Just replaced a old PS4 with a brand new stock controller and got pulled for the first time. My old one still works somewhat but I feel it’s far easier and more robotic to get a perfect/perfect and straight line than my new one. I almost didn’t use it because I wasn’t playing real well with it but I get pulled for being to “robotic” ? Is it a straight line or just a consistent line regardless if straight or not?

Swing technique is usually the main culprit for those at a loss to why they are pulled - those with the light touch/flick method are prone to being pulled due to the springs forcing the stick to end up in the same area for all shots. This is why we say to use that method at your own risk and then recommend getting full feedback lines to correct the issue.
If you don't use this swing method then faulty controller (larger deadzone) might be to blame as no two controllers seem to function exactly alike.

This season we are tracking fair play pulls per person - we've added some back end code to make this much easier to do for the admin. We're going to keep this very simple.
After your 3rd Fair Play pull you will no longer be able to participate in Majors, WGC, minor events, Playoffs or Special Events for that season.
Special events include things like the Olympics, Ryder Cup, President's Cup, Promotion Events etc.
I will have to police the fields manually - since the site auto-registers everyone for certain events there are times guys may show up in the field that I'll have to withdraw them from when I am able to. If you are a repeat offender I strongly suggest you adjust your swing technique or controller before it's too late.
Note:
Fair Play pulls due to using wrong clubset will not count towards total
Fair Play pulls on TST will not count towards total
Does this count towards both the regular shots and the putting metrics methods?

This is a little more strict than the rule I proposed, which at least allowed a person who might be subject to a controller on the verge of giving out and/or someone who really wants to work to find a solution to play fair. I would hope that some decisions could be overridden by the admin as I feel this rule is really trying to weed out the player who is consistently failing and doing really nothing to fix it. They are just playing the API lottery. This new policy I hope will help put a dent in those folks.
For those who are truly struggling, active on the boards and are trying to find a solution, it would be kinda unfair to them. One pull might be bad luck as many of the best legit players have had one round pulled. So they play normally and a few weeks later and get nailed again. They go and get their old controller and try to play with it, full stroke and all and a week later boom their third fail and they are SOL. I would really like to see these players be able to get one strike removed it they could put up a couple months of clean golf. I mean the admin should have a good idea of those player gaming the system and those legitimately trying to correct an issue. I just hope there is a way back in to good graces for the latter group without having to wait a full 52 week season.

Oh and while I'm here. I hereby propose that any club may be used on any shot, including on the putting surface. No 100 foot limit before you can. Made the rule exactly like the official rules of the PGA/Euro and Web Tours.

I understand what you are saying here, but if you are unsure about a different controller and are an the verge of being punished, shouldn't you ask TGCT to evaluate a test round with that controller for API violations before you use it in a tournament?

I use my left thumb on the top of the left pad, push down and flick up. Are you saying that's illegal? If so, how else would recommend swinging? I'm surely quitting the game before I hover over a table of some kind and play sideways....So confused by this whole thing...

I am not sure where to put this but I would really like to know why I got an email that my scores would not be accepted for this week due to fair play policy? I have been playing since February and have never had an issue. I play PS4 and have a standard, stock controller that is only 2 months old. I do not flick the controller, I go all the way back, then forward, sometimes resulting in a fast downswing due to too much thumb. I use my right hand on the right stick. NOTHING I am doing is cheating yet I get this email? My scores this week were up and down, that is the only reason I can think why this happened. I am in CC-A and shot a -12 over the first 2 rds, then a -25 over last 2 rds of the most recent tournament. Absolutely nothing changed in in my swing or my approach, nor has it changed since I bought the game.

If you haven't already, try the 'Fair Play Assistance' area. This can only be seen by TGCTours staff.

Does TST get checked for fair play? I just assumed it did.

Does TST get checked for fair play? I just assumed it did. They do, yes.
Edit 1: This was an emphasis of mine in season 4 (season 3 here for TST) moving forward.
Edit 2: It was implemented for season 5 of TGCTours (season 4 of TST)... last year. Continues forward I assume into the current season.
