Thank you to all the staff, volunteers, etc. that make this thing go around each season. You are ALL top notch! Agreed. Without tgct this game would be a dead dodo.

Thing is though, in real life golf I can control chips through loft or de-loft, so how is that wrong in the game? And think of lofting on other shots as choking down on the club to take distance off, or shutting the club face a bit for more distance. I don’t think the scores are because the mechanics are wrong, the scores are because all the feedback we get prior to the shot which allows us to be very specific about where our shot is going. it's not "wrong" as in morally wrong; none of us see it as like anything close to flicking, or anything like that.
But given it's already WAY easier to keep the ball straight AND loft box is WAY more predictable than using some loft/deloft in real life, it makes the game pretty "unrealistic" in our view...
It's pretty annoying to not be able to stop roll out on chips and flops, but it's preferable (in my opinion!) to gaining that realism; and you find ways around it as well! It's VERY satisfying consistently getting up and down without using loft box, or finding that between club distance by using a fast downswing.
You can't stop roll outs on chips irl, thats the idea of that shot. You can stop flops in game but you need a good lie with a pp swing. You wont stop it out of the rough. You sometimes can out of light rough but really need a good swing on the shot.

I think chips roll out "too much" on the game, compared to real life; they don't have that check that guys like mickleson get on it. But yep, broadly speaking I agree with what you say. Were you replying to agree or disagree with me? Or just adding to the point?

The game has WAY too much spin out of heavy rough when you loft right up. 10 yard chip shots felt just too easy when I lofted up for distance. They become a feel for distance shot when no loft is used. I recommend anyone who hasn't give the short game a try without lofting up. It's just feels great when those partial shots come off, feels like real golf where distance is achieved by how far you swing back the club for chips and pitches.

I never use lofting up on a chip always use partial shots. I do use it on bunker shots with the flop shot with a partial swing comes out like a proper bunker shot.

I agree is "too much," but maybe not "way." Especially from light rough, or even heavy with a decent lie (over 70, certainly 75,) irl if those guys can get anywhere under the ball, they're stopping it pretty quick. I fully agree on playing without loft tho, it's SO satisfying. As you know, I can't do partials, so it's all fast/slow/v slow (I don't v fast) for my distance control. Maybe I'm helped by ps4, but I've got it down. Rarely leave myself long putts after a chip or flop. Now, my putting is another matter!!

I am on a PS4 as well, and I CAN do partials - it is just that I never know HOW partial the shot will be, anywhere from 50 - 80% when I am trying for 75%. So, like Leon, I have to use tempo, especially v slow to control distance.

There is always going to be exploits/bugs/glitches in a video game folks. Little things that bug us like roll outs on chips, checks on lofts are the crosses we bear. It is what it is. But this thread isn’t for that. Let’s try to keep this thread clean and use it for its intended purpose. Which is the operations of the TGC Tours. 😊

But I understand the frustration behind this debate..after all, thanks to the great work and the little (amd great) changes implemented here and there, we can proudly say that we have a tour actually almost perfect..so this thing stays as our biggest pebble in the shoe. But there is very little we can do, so..i agree. I can't wait for this new season..i hope this will be an happy season full of fun and enjoyment for all of us. Thank you, again and sincerely, to all the great people who allow us to have this great experience every day. See ya on the course

Except as of the time of this post, the weather report hasn’t been updated (still on Week 40-something)
The CC-Pro course is St. Cyrus, guessing from the tips.
