i have heard other people speculate about this, and i have experienced it (only a couple of times though.) Very hard to be sure if it's internet or server based, or just a very slight player error thing. Also heard people say it's more likely you just develop a temporary hitch in your swing. when it's happened to me, say 4 holes in a row, i've been able to adjust without getting into fast territory.
It's just one of those things. Deal with and adjust as best you can!
I was thinking server based. It just seems like all the swings are registering a bit slower than they’re supposed to. I really don’t feel like it’s anything I’m doing. Trying for the fast downs on the tee to me is the giveaway. Like being able to get it almost every time in the evening, but in the morning struggling with it...just doesn’t add up to me. It’s gotta be something with the connection. I do try to adjust and swing faster when it’s acting up, but it’s still annoying lol. I also notice in the morning i sometimes get infinite loads when I go into a society and have to close the game out. Not sure if that’s related at all though. Not sure about the server based internet. My connection is prone to many disconnect but I don't have tempo problems the game plays great on PC for me. Are your bad tempos, edge of the perfect box or way off? 5 off perfect downswings in a round isn't too bad or is it for PS4?. No offence everyone but I think the tempo should be tighter in this game as it is the angle of clubface, should be hard to hit it dead square all the time. I struggle to hit the line straight on this game, I push a lot of my shots like irl. I still think the driver is too forgiving unlike in TGC2.

Really happy with my first round. Made a complete mess of the first (probably easiest?) Par 5 and took a double. Was +3 at one point. Battled hard up to the last par 5 and played it just perfect; didn't over compensate for the water, left myself a curling 18 footer and drained it for the eagle to get back to level. Then had a bogie and a birdie on 17 to get back to E, which is where I finished. Have to say I LOVE the course. Thanks to whoever selected it It's definitely hard on USE! Agree on blind tee shots, the greens are pushing it on fairness, and very fast, you really need a delicate touch but, honestly, for me, it feels like it never goes out of control and into ridiculous. And we've done the hardest round now! Well played Leon you done me by 2 shots in the first round , loved the course and the grind to make par. Played well but my medium range putting was poor so missed 5 good birdie chances under 10 foot and my long range putts were burning the hole but just not dropping. 2 very slow downswing approaches were costly bogeys. Enjoyed every minute in the windy conditions that were actually tame compared to the 50 mph winds I played in a few weeks ago irl . Hats off to darvaan with a superb 68 Nice one Paul. Hopefully I can keep this going, in further rounds and in further weeks; I still feel like I'm on the border of good play and collapsing. Would be nice if we can actually get this little rivalry you want going

Good luck for the rest of the weeks

Ironic I shoot 68 in those crazy conditions in round 1 only to fall victim to some unfortunate circumstances in the tamer rounds.
After 3 opening pars in round 2 I’m left with a little 10 yard chip on that POS 4th hole. Chip trickles by and rolls about 90 feet to the left completely off the green. My next attempt to flop up comes up 10ft short and rolls all the way back down this time just short of the fringe leaving me some 80ft 4ft up putt. Needless to say it led to a triple bogey. I bogey the next hole and pretty much erase all the hard work I did in round 1. I try to hold it together but a couple holes later some more crazy roll off the green BS and yet another Triple. At this point I’m fuming and go into DGAF mode and end up finishing the round at +6.
Pretty much just mailed in round 3 with a +4, my bad!
Round 4 was playing alright and held it at par until late. These greens are ridiculous. I literally had a 5 footer for birdie I didn’t even hit aggressively trickle very slowly by the hole than roll 50 foot off the green into the rough and ended up with a double bogey. Overall too many WTF moments with too many putts just rolling straight off the green if you missed. Ended up +3 and +9 overall for the tournament.
Needless to say, not a big fan of this course lol.

Pin positions near severe slopes is the problem especially on 187 greens. 4th green is stupid because it seems no matter where you land the ball it will roll to the back off the green.

-3 -2 to start. Probably the best I've played on this course with no aids. I have a couple questions for you guys when it comes to flops, chips, green side bunkers, putting, and obstructed views around the green. 1. All my camera settings are set to wide (default?). I've noticed on some chips, flops, bunker shots directly around the green, if there is tall brush right behind you, it can obscure the view of your shot. Is changing the camera angle so you can see in front of you acceptable on these shots? I just picture if I was actually hitting these shots IRL, I wouldn't have an obstructed view. 2. Greenside bunkers. Is changing camera angles allowed? Again, I picture playing the shot IRL and having the ability to stand outside the bunker and/or walk the green to get a feel for the shot. 3. Putting. On longer right to left breaking putts, sometimes my golfer gets in the way of seeing the putt break/roll out. Again, IRL, I'd be able to see the entire putt. Is it ok to change the camera view (forward/folow cam?) to be able to see the entire putt? So depending on how everyone feels about these questions, I may have violated all three of these 1 or 2 times during my two rounds (cheater!!!). I probably should have asked first, but trying to rush to play before going to work, I was thinking, "surely it's ok". You know, the better to ask for forgiveness vs permission concept. At any rate, I may have done each of these once during my two rounds. If you guys feel it warranted to remove or not count my scores, I understand. Sorry for the long post. thx!

To be honest, I never actually look at that part of meter. Other than the straightness of the stick, I just look at whether it says perfect, slow, or fast and that’s it. I’ll have to look at the boxes next time. For me 5 slows is pretty bad, if we aren’t counting flops and chips which is totally normal for my tempo to be on the erratic side no matter what time of day it is lol. I just thought it was weird cause it seriously only gives me issues at certain times of the day. For example I just played a round and didn’t get a single slow, it felt different than this morning. I’ve also wondered if it could be the controller connection to the PS4, especially if I’m playing wireless. Who knows!

Round 3 started promising, -1 at the turn. The wheels came off down the stretch, finishing double, double, birdie, bogey. +4, blech.
Nevertheless, onward we go.

Round one was a complete disaster. Worst round for me ever. In USE or anywhere else! "How bad was it?" "It was so bad, Arnold Palmer could have shot better than I did" "Isn't he dead?" "Exactly." Round 2 was 17 shots better. Finished the round at -2 with 7 birdies, a bogey and two doubles. I did save par at 15(?) after putting it into the water, so yay me! Like darvaan, I'm not a big fan of this course. But it is a serious challenge and I hope rounds 3 and 4 will be more like round 2 and not like round 1! "Onward" seems so inadequate. I feel more like, "slogonward" or "grindonward" or "the pin's over yonward you big dummy"

I do exactly the same, so if they kick you out, I will be right behind you. My default camera angle on the tee is up high, and wide from behind on other shots. I change camera view angles all the time to help me get a feel for where to aim. No different than using the approach and putting cams IMO.

YES. This happens to me all the time. I have very bad tempo problems depending on the day and the time of day. During the week is much much worse than on weekends. Its why I mostly play my rounds on Sunday and Monday, then finish on Friday and Saturday. I've heard lots of people say its just me, and to a degree, I believe that. but not always. I know I'm not a great golfer, but I've played here over a year, and I can tell when the bad tempo is my fault, and when its something else. I can hit the controller exactly the same, and get a slow one time, and a very fast the next. I get tons of very slows and very fasts when I play mid week. I used to complain about this all the time, but nowadays, I just deal with it and keep rockin best I can.
lessee, you were asking about the game giving you the wrong club and not noticing it? Yup, that used to happen to me all the time!
Anyone that plays my ghost will probably notice that my woods are all different colors. Right now I am just carrying the driver, which is orange, and the two, which is the cool black with skulls pattern. But the three is red, BRIGHT red, and the 5 is green, BRIGHT green. The sole reason they are like this, is because I kept missing the fact that the game would give me the wrong ones, like you are talking about, so I color coded them with BRIGHT colors so I would actually notice them. My favorite color is pumpkin orange, so thats why my driver is that color. I notice now if that orange club is not there on the tee. It works, try it!
Being a continually off the green, I have that happen quite often. I frequently have my view blocked by grass and undergrowth, and the stands people sit in. I've said before I wish they would put some type of first person view in this game so you could at least see the club and ball like irl in those situations. I've never thought to change the camera angles, I usually just deal with it and do a blind shot.
I think you are safe my friend! I actually didn't do too bad on my R2, on holes 2 through 18. hahah. But on the first hole, I tripled, because I somehow hit the camera stand thing, and it went backwards. I mean, the thing is as big as a barn! but you know if I had been TRYING to hit it, I could never pull it off.
rock on, brothers!

How do you guys change the camera angle and still hit?
Now, when I'm close the the green, I CAN hit Y, I think it is, and it gives me a free camera, like when you are putting, that I can look around at the slopes. But it won't let me swing like that.
If there is a way to change to a different angle and still swing the club, I'd love that, if it is in fact ok!

You click either the right or left joystick (I think it's the right one on PS4 but I'd have to check for sure). It cycles through 4 camera angles. Pick one and hit the shot.
