Once the daily vape deaths keep up with the cigarettes I'll listen. For now I think someone greedy wanted in on the pie and used ingredients they had no knowledge about and this is not going to be a continuing trend. I could be wrong but, I can take a full deep breath without coughing and that's an improvement over just a few years ago. That's enough for me, for now

Nicotine is a tough drug to quit. In January, 2009, I was smoking 4 packs a day. I started in high school around 1964. I was getting locked vision, double vision, near black outs but kept on. Chantex cut me to two packs a day, I just kept changing my quit date. Then one day i'm lying on the couch watching tv and started gasping for air and ended up in the ER. The next day after lunch I was going to light one up but looked at it and said to myself "thats it". Later that day I had another attack back to the ER this time they kept me fluid on the lungs among other things. After 3 days I could smell the cig smell on my coat in the hospital room. The following Memorial Day I had a 'minor" heart attack had a stent placed, I guess you don't feel the majors for long. It took a good two years to get it out of my system back to ER numerous times BP related while even on meds. To bad about the e-cigs with the lung ailments, I hope for the folks that enjoy them, they find the source. This January it will be 10 years and two CT scans, no lung cancer yet,a good sign.

Damn bro, that was quite the ride, eh? Glad you are doing well now for sure. I had a pulmonary function test yesterday because I've been having some issues breathing. It's mostly when I bend over and straighten up, I have to take a few seconds to get air. My cardiologist said it might be my stomach or diaphragm pressing on my lungs when I bend over - but I never had that issue before. Initial conclusion from the pulmonary tests is I've developed asthma now. I won't have the actual results for another couple of days. That machine they put me in for the tests was freaky. It was like a phone booth but round.

The E Cig deaths are from black market pods with THC/nicotine in them.
I never thought I could quit smoking. It has worked for me. Is it the best option? No. tar kills you not nicotine.
But damn 4 packs a day is HC. I don't think you could smoke that much now unless you drove a truck or worked from home.

I dunno if they have pinned down the exact cause but those illegal ones are definitely at the center. I've heard everything from Vitamin E acetate to fentanyl (sp?) being the culprit. There are people buying the CBD vapes off-market and they don't even have CBD in them. I gave our local news station a ration of sht when they ran a story last week saying that CBD was the root cause of the deaths. It was an incredibly irresponsible report that had zero facts or truth in it and I let them know it. I agree with getting the flavored ones off the market. We do not need kids getting a nicotine addiction and going the opposite way of those who are trying to transition off tobacco.

Agree flavored stuff should go.
I find it funny though that some people have dies from vaping but cigs kill people left and right. Forget about heroin and opioids.

I get outta breath walking up stairs too. Unfortunately it gets worse every year as you know. I not in CCG any more (cant compete with those damn kids LOL, I started a solo career, pretty much matching the PGA tour, Ill check in now and then and see how your doing.

I'm holding steady at 190-200 and I really don't have a huge belly (nor do i have a 6 pack, 4 pack or 2 pack lol). Bending over is the only real issue with breathing. I can get up and down stairs and walk my dog w/o any issues. I retired from running years ago unless there is an earthquake or wildfire .

The only thing I have left is a little Jack here and there and this vaping. Quit all that other sh%$ years ago and about 6 months or so I stopped taking Xanax. I had a script for over 10 years for anxiety. Never really took it that much but I felt it was time to get rid of it. I also never go out anymore. Used to go out with buddies after work a lot. I felt that was going down a bad path and costs way to much. I go home and chill with my boys now. Much better.

Just catching up with this one!
Still not one single reported death as a result of vaping in this country, where it is much more regulated than you have it in the States. And even so, I've seen the people and reports (sponsored by Lambert and Butler) saying this proves that vaping is just as bad. Ludicrous! Even pretending for a minute that vaping has caused these deaths, there have been 7 reported in the whole of the USA. SEVEN!!! How many hundreds of thousands die from smoking related disease every year??
The deaths have all been caused by people trying to find a THC vape, note THC not CBD which is medicinal and has actually been helping people with various ailments. I've looked in to that myself (for a friend of course...) and have found there is currently no such thing. Well at least not a safe one anyway, they are all cut with substances you would never dream of inhaling if you knew they were there. But you know, people do stupid things.
Still happily vaping for the win, and haven't touched a cigarette in almost 2 years
