I have struggled to quit smoking. Done the gum gone cold turkey . I got this and it's been 4 months now. Had maybe 3 cigs. No interest.
It works. Best part. No smell no ash and you can use it inside.
People die from tar not nicotine.
Of course we don't know if the sh%$ in the JUUL is bad but it's probably better than smoking.

People die from tar not nicotine. Of course we don't know if the sh%$ in the JUUL is bad but it's probably better than smoking. I just now saw this thread Paul. I quit this last September. September 3rd was the last day I had a cigarette. Having found out the cause of my heart attack was directly linked to smoking cigarettes, it made it quite a bit easier for me. They caused 100% artery blockage. I can't begin to tell you how much pain I was in. Imagine John Cena punching you in the chest with all his might every two seconds. It went on for two days with me because I was initially mis-diagnosed at the ER. Unlike most heart attacks, my initial signs were shooting pains in my neck. Because I had been being treated for neck/back issues already, the ER Dr defaulted to that and gave me morphine. Big mistake Indy. Shortly after that is when the chest punches began. And it was relentless. I didn't go back to the ER until the next day. It was then that they figured it out. I'm extremely lucky to still be here and not playing golf with Tim on the other side. I'm proud of you for not waiting for something like that to happen and taking this matter into your own hands. Tobacco is a killer. And you are correct, the tar is what kills you BUT it is the nicotine that keeps you coming back for more. And more. And more. I encourage you to try to get past that part of it too. At some point, you will need to deal with that root cause of the addiction and get to a point where you are once again a non-smoker. You can do this brother.

I still smoke tobacco, but only mixed with weed. Maybe one or two cigarettes worth a day. My cardiologist doesn’t like it, but he does like the fact I don’t take pain pills because of my weed use. I go without whenever I’m in hospital, it’s not worth the hassle - and they have all the good drugs anyway, when you’re not a junkie they give them to you when you ask nicely 😂
*Note - I’m guessing a JUUL is some kind of vape thing? Here only hipsters use vapes lol

*Note - I’m guessing a JUUL is some kind of vape thing? Here only hipsters use vapes lol I've very recently switched to vaping myself and am in my honeymoon period right now. One of the reasons I was put off was the whole irritating hipster aspect, in addition to how complex it all sounds, and how utterly useless the e-cigs I tried years ago were. It's one of the best decisions I've ever made. I've averaged a pack a day since my teens. I have one mouth-to-lung device which is an almost perfect simulation of cigarette smoking, everything from the hand and sucking habit to the throat hit to the exhalation sensation and vape quantity. Absolutely perfect for 'fag breaks' at work, which also get me away from my desk and moving around. I also just got myself a hardcore attention-seeking hipster-wanker cloud-blowing device, which I will never use in public because I would quite rightly get the sh*t kicked out of me, I'd probably help them by punching myself in the face at the same time in fact. Completely different experience to smoking (it's direct lung rather than mouth to lung for a start, but also 10x more powerful than my other device), the amount of vapour is obscene, but the reason I got it was after trying one at a vape store and the flavour was fecking AMAZING. Never experienced anything like it, it's like breathing deep fried strawberry ice cream and waffles. Indescribably tasty and it makes a pretty dramatic change from having permanent ashtray-breath to dessert-breath. Couple of days ago I weakened and had a post-dinner cig with a mate for the first time in 2 weeks, gave me a huge headrush and that first puff was, I'm sad to say, extremely satisfying - but the smell, jesus christ, it's mindblowing to me how your nostrils just get used to that after so long and you never notice it. The smell was seriously offensive to my nose, I chucked it after 5 or 6 puffs because I couldn't stand the smell. I just thought holy crap, so that's what people have been smelling when they're near me, when I get back to the office after a fag break, when I get on the train or stand near them in a shop or whatever, and I've been completely oblivious to it. In fact I've been assuming that people are just being overly-dramatic judgmental bastards when they talk about the smell, because all this time I've not noticed it, because I'm surrounded by it constantly. More generally I'm already feeling like I have more energy and feel lighter moving around. Played a round of golf last week and was not nearly as knackered as I usually am after 18 holes - it can only be the increased oxygen / blood flow from not inhaling fags 20 times a day (I usually have 5 or 6 on the course as well lol, sometimes more if there's a queue of OAPs in front). So for those reading this who are on the fence, and especially if like me you don't want to be associated with fat neckbeard cloud-chucking tossers, forget all that and just make the switch. Technology has come a long way, I tried e-cigs (the ones that look like cigarettes and have tobacco flavour) years ago and they were so unsatisfying that I went back to smoking within a few days. Now you can get devices with a huge range of power and settings, along with being adjustable to match whatever sensation you normally feel from smoking, I've been seriously blown away by how effective it's been. My only hope is I haven't left things too late, been smoking a pack a day for 20 years and there's no telling the damage I've done. Either way I'm just glad to have a bit more energy and the knowledge that when people walk by me they'll smell strawberries, waffles, custard or lemon tart rather than death and ashtrays If you're thinking about stopping smoking and want something to give you that same sensation, this is the one I've bought, most seem to agree it's the best mouth-to-lung cig replacement device on the market right now. If the auto-time-skip doesn't work, start watching from 4:47 (the tech stuff before that can be a little dull if you're new to this):

Thanks Laz, won’t rule them out when I need a cig, which I still do on occasion.
How is it you make a wall of text palatable and Ron makes me want to cut??? 😂

I never heard that vaping is for hipsters lol. I'd rather be considered that which I doubt people would think when they saw me than a cig smoker. In the US you are treated like you have the plague if you smoke. It's such a pain in the ass and as mentioned that smell is so bad. It is amazing how you get used to it.
I also tried a couple different e cigs . They where horrible when they first came out. Also a pain in the ass. Battery didn't last long enough and you had to refill them to much. The JUUL is very small and us supposed to mimic a cigarette draw. One pod ( no refill you just buy pods) is one pack of cigs and the battery lasts me about 24 hours. It's easy to charge as well. It does a great job getting you the same feeling as a draw from a cig. Same amount of smoke. I use the tobacco flavor which is very mild and has basically no smell to it. Trust me it's got past my wife's nose so I know it doesn't smell at all after a couple of seconds.
Cigarettes will be like cocaine in coke a cola pretty soon. People will say...did you know that....
If you wna get off cigs and feel a lot better than try e cigs. Doesn't matter which kind. I find the JUUL to be simple and you can buy it in a gas station just like cigs. Very convenient. Or you can order directly from them online.
Ohh and golfing. That is when I would smoke the most. When I quit with gum the last time golfing is when I went back to cigs. I'm not worried this time.
Anyway hope a this helps someone.

Good on you. Makes you a good boss that you’re interested enough to want to help and happy to pay to make the change initially. Kudos 👌🏻
