This is still (and probably will be always) one of the most beautiful holes i ever saw. So gorgeous..
Joe, do you know, today while i was updating the list of RCRs, i found out someone released a Lidar version of Camargo Club, yesterday. Unfortunally i had still no chance to check it..but it would be beautiful if it could be a good version.
(a pair of months ago i found out also a lidar version of sleepy hollow, just with a different name i don't remember right now, but i was not particularly impressed playing it)

On the upside I'm now on PC and I'm currently working on a version of Camargo with Pithydoctorg that will be our own spin on the real course, as the actual lidar play's massively out of touch with TGC distances. That said it's possible that a future release of the full Camargo will be on the cards, if simulator players want it. I'm also helping out BPetty with National Golf Links of America and TheCLV with Shoreacres. Plenty classic golf courses coming your way, all top quality renditions too.

I've looked for Sleepy Hollow LIDAR data before and couldn't find anything available, are you sure it's a LIDAR? Hi Brian Your doubt is reasonable, i had the same doubt while i tested it the first time, but i think that yes, is a Lidar one. The name in game is "The Headless Horseman lidar" and the designer is a PC user who has only this course in his portfolio. When i checked it with the satellite maps, i noticed that actually the routing, the shape of...everything, as for the distances..everything is actually correct. The time required to upload the course fits with a lidar course..but probably the best proof is that, if you have the patience to play until hole 6, on the right you can find a huge cliff, the typical border of a lidar file. So said..the course is in short unplayable. Some green (i played first 8 holes, then i renounced cause stress ) has slopes senseless. My idea is that in some way the guy found the lidar data (probably awful in quality), shaped the course and just released it with 0 "secondary" work. You can see it looking at the tees, sometimes totally bumpy. And at the rest of the design, really poor. (By the way..is a joy to hear you are working on NGLA. It will be beautiful )

Interesting, I’ll have another look for it then. I’ve wanted that one in game for awhile now... unfortunately it would be impossible to get a realistic river view like it has in real life though, I’m afraid.

On the subject of Sleepy, I just wanted to put these three things here. Same golf hole. Tom Fazio, shut up.

Not MacRaynor but here's another, arguably worse offender.

On the subject of Sleepy, I just wanted to put these three things here. Same golf hole. Tom Fazio, shut up. And what an improvement to the hole designs, too. A great Road hole followed by a Knoll. Hanse and Bahto did a cracker of a job at Sleepy, they also happened to team up for The Creek Club restoration as well.

Nobody else took Valley!!? I love this template. I did an RCR called Island Spring Golf Resort for a golf course I built in 2000 in Northern Ontario. #2 of this course is a valley hole that is a reachable Par 5 with a 80 foot valley between the first landing spot and the green. Some deadly bunkers lined the uphill part of the valley (not visible in this pic). When we grew this hole in it took FOREVER to get the bentgrass to not washout on the steep slow and eventually we had natural springs start to weep from the valley slopes that required extensive drainage. The approach is tricky because club selection is tricky. The green was sloped towards the front and if we had the stimpmeter rolling over 13 then we'd have golfer complain that they walked to the green with a putter and had to go back to get a pitching wedge to return a ball that rolled back down into the valley! tgctours.com/Course/Details/22347?PlayerId=33351 In the first pic it looks like just an uphill hole - but there is a deep valley buried in the front, visible in the second pic. See Kurt raking one of those deadly bunkers (that washed out with every rain)!
