so...was moving things...and it appears there is more than just a resolution difference. The objects are at a slightly different angle. All that work and I don't think there is any way to make it match up. Sigh... there is a rotate option - not sure if that'll help out

DOYLEY: Split this off from OSM Request threadAnd real quick... I want to say this for anyone who hasn’t used OSM before. Please do NOT do courses like whoever did Augusta National. All the greens are marked as “sports pitch” and fairways are both inaccurate and wrongly labeled... sorry for the mini rant haha I am doing Merion Country Club and someone made a feeble attempt of creating the course layout. The splines were terrible and I had to tear out everything and start from scratch! Speaking with a member at Merion, he said that using Bing Aerial Imagery is the most accurate when you do your splining in OSM.

Yeah, unfortunately a lot of the courses that are already done are absolutely terrible. Tbh it’s usually better to find a blank course than one that’s already done. Re: the imagery, that isn’t necessarily true. While it may be lined up best with the LIDAR, it’s extremely blurry. From what I’ve seen so far, Mapbox Sattelite is the most clear and sharp. You may want to trace a couple shapes on Bing Aerial first, then use the offset tool to line the Mapbox image up with the Bing Aerial. Obviously this is just what I’ve seen, and isn’t necessarily the best option everywhere, but I’ve found myself using it more often than not.

How important is it to use the line and tag each hole? "Golf Hole" is not showing up in OSM for me when trying to mark each hole.
Edit: Cart path doesn't show as an option for me either

"Golf Hole" is not showing up in OSM for me when trying to mark each hole. should work - just click line (or press 2) and draw a line and then make sure it's selected then search for Golf - as long as you used a line and not area, golf hole will show up. It's handy as it imports them as created holes in-game - you can always skip and manually do this step in the designer if you want.

I got it to work, weirdly enough in the initial search after completing my line nothing shows up Yet if I click off the line, then back on Golf Hole along with the cart path options are all there So if anyone else comes across this issue that is the solution I found!

This sometimes happens when I try to end the line. I fix it by going to the little warning triangle on the right side of the screen. This is an error saying you haven't tagged it yet. It then allows yoy access to the line menu and you can search again.

OK, I'm doing my local course to get used to it - and am aligning everything to bing - but some of the other views are easier to see certain areas - I'll just make sure they align to bing map. Another question - does TGC Tools import single trees or just those marked as an area? I noticed you can use the Point option and select Tree. I think that would be pretty handy for those sparsely planted trees on the course. Point -> Tree will become the a default tree in your theme. Natural -> Wood will become a gravel spline placeholder Lidar Trees will try to populate every tree automatically. chadgolf do you know which surface the Natural > Wood occupies (Surface 1, Surface 2, or Surface 3)? I am thinking about using that for pine straw areas, but I just want to make sure it comes in as Surface 1 or Surface 2 and can be changed to pine straw. I think Surface 3 is limited only to cartpath surfaces.

Just confirming once again, Natural > Wood is teh one that is supposed to come in as gravel? I've tried twice and the areas marked with that are not coming in.

What should be selected for cart paths in OSM I put them under path and they didn’t come across in game, should they be a golf feature of some description?
