Had a nice tournament going at -27 thru Rd 2. Then pissed it away, playing in very high winds on the weekend. Finished at -42. Oh what could've been. If only I were a wind-waiter..

crossed over this week.. played decent in practice averaging 11-13 under and failed miserably when it counted. Managed to find every slope on the fairways and random putts kept coming up short. Could be my first missed cut. Gutted. Played my last 2 rounds anyway and improved with a 58 (-14) to finish at -40, strong winds in round 2/3 but no excuse i missed soo many putts. Cant seem to play under pressure just yet. Think the cut line will be -17/18 which will leave me one short

I had my best tournament to date. I was working on my par 3 course when the message came up, the tourney was available. Shot on into it, no wind gauge, I thought, oh this is going to be fun now, what a surprize, then I thought, NO, surely we would of been warned. So I backed out and seen the other had been created. I thought I would play a few holes and see how it goes. Proceeded to drive my ball straight into the bunker on 1, 40-60 lie, aim way left to get out, ball squirts way right into the bushes, manage to get on the green and made a bomb of a putt for par. Big cheer let out in my garage. Followed that with birdie, eagle and away I went.
I took one short break to message taste that he was a cheater, after I seen him card a 55 for round 1.
Wife is away, I never stopped until it was all done 3 1/2 hours later. 3:30 am. 58,58,58,57. -57
What a roller coaster it was, wind was as low as 4, as high as 18 and seemed to be mostly playing in the 8-11 range until my last 9 holes where it was blasting, but I wanted to ride this one out and just get it in and done.

I don't know what winds you guys at the top were playing in but these winds from 8-16 are actually insane. My lowest on one hole was 6 but I only saw that for one shot. I'm going to have to resort to winds waiting after this tournament because I cannot compete having to aim literally 40 yards right of target. If you can shoot what you do in those winds then more power to you, you rock. I just cannot do it.

Wow! Great scores on this course. I played terribly and will probably miss the cut, but that is very impressive scoring for four rounds. Good luck to you.

I've been struggling with my thumb over the last week. It sux cause I have posted a couple of -14s on that course earlier in the week but my thumb is making it very hard to be competitive or even play to semi acceptable standards. Doc suggests rest while we wait for an appointment to be made with an arthroscopic surgeon. I'm in a splint now. I gave it a go earlier today and just couldn't shoot the way that felt comfy, so I'm withdrawing this week due to injury and will be resting it up. Hopefully I'm only gone one week, but we'll see.
Good luck all.

Just shot 63 in the final round which I am extremely proud of considering the winds averaged 12mph. Unfortunately you guys can add me to the wind wait list next week. Also Brighttail it's unfortunate that you can't play this week. Get some rest and hit the range during the week so you are ready to go next week.

Sadly this isn't something that is going to get better without surgery and as I stated before, being in Canada that could be 3 weeks to 2 years away, ya just never know. I may have to learn to play with a splint or some sort of immobilization on it.

Am i the only one who finds it strange there are people who have yet to shoot round 3 at the Farmers and some are already finished with the Pebble Pro-Am. That is some serious overlap! Not sure what the solution is, if there is even one needed, but as it is now it does seem to affect the excitement of the ending tourney and water down the discussion of the next when people are still on the last.
Maybe it's just me. Carry on (i had my eyes closed coming in here).

I thought i would fair pretty well in this tourney but it turns out that im not allowed haha
My first round was plagued with shots under 100% (lots). Second round was very average although i played well in places and its the same story for the third round. One bit of hope came from my last round when i was on fire and the power issues didn't seem to be a problem (happens to be the last round dammit)
R1: 64 (-8) R2: 61 (-11) R3: 62 (-10) R4: 57 (-15)
Total: -44
I really wish i didn't have the issues i had at the start. Links courses really bother me and i always get problems with them.
I played in 6-14mph winds the entire tournament.

Also Brighttail it's unfortunate that you can't play this week. Get some rest and hit the range during the week so you are ready to go next week. Tournament opened at 12 ish, it was probably 12.30 or so before I got going, 3.30 and had all 4 rounds in, taste was done and in before that. I guess I'm not clear, but how exactly is that wind waiting? and why are you playing 40 yards of wind break ?.
This is week 4 of me playing all 4 rounds in marathon style, and still people are making the wind wait accusation. Tell you what, from here on in, count me in and add me to the wind wait list as well. Whether or not I do it, I don't care, none of anyone's business, but from here on in I admit up front from now on, I'm a wind waiter, planted firmly on the wind wait list. I cannot see how I can do anything different, the accusation will be there anyway, may as well just do it and make everyone happy.
Although your intention to include me on the wind wait list may not be clear to me.

I never accused you of wind waiting. If anything the exact opposite since you were done so fast. I was stating that I'm going to next week because I can't play in the winds that high and stay competitive. Idk why you thought I was accusing you guys of doing it. I meant that if you could play in thoes winds and shoot what you did then that's amazing, more power to you. I just can't. Also I had to aim forty yards right twice on hole 18 partly because of sideways lie but mainly because of 17mph direct cross wind.
