So what's everyones thoughts on season 9? I'm really digging the new Tilted and Mega Mall areas. Not a fan of pressure point though or the air tubes, I have a habit of freaking out when I hear people gliding above me lmao. Also liked the surprise of John Wicks house appearing

I like season 9 so far. I really just didn't get into season 8 very much, which is odd because I like pirates!
The trailer for it was the most hilarious thing I've seen in a long time.
But take me with a grain of salt, because I hate the BR part, I only play team rumble and Save the World usually!

I've still played casually the whole time, but this morning was probably the most I enjoyed it since the beginning.
The new matchmaking putting me with players my skill level is so much better than getting wrecked by 14 year olds hooked on Adderall lol.
Definitely had some throwback vibes, and seem the gameplay is little slower which is also nice for us crappy players!

I'm assuming you are talking about solo mode? I may have to try that! I normally play Large team rumble mode, and seemed to me everyone was still all sorts of skill levels. But I didn't figure the matchmaking would apply in large team mode, it never shows that anywhere else.
Tonight I mainly just ran around and looked at the new map.

Yeah,in solos. I don't play very much but in the last 3/4 seasons I'd be lucky to get a handful of kills. This morning I had 3 games in a row with at least 7.... Of course 7 is probably the age of the kids they got me playing against lol

I've been noticing a lot of AI bots when I've been playing. Watched a replay of one game to see if I could figure real players from bots and it turned out there were only 12 real players in the lobby, lol. So it has been plenty of games with 6+ bot kills, get to top 10 and die to sweaty chubby checked 12 year olds.
Really liking the new map. Fishing is more fun then I would have thought, too.

A professional Fortnite player has been permanently banned from playing the hugely popular video game for cheating. Jarvis Kaye, who is a member of the eSports team FaZe Clan, revealed in an emotional YouTube video that he received the ban for uploading videos that showed him using aimbots in the game in order to improve the accuracy of his shooting. He told his nearly 2 million subscribers that he was unaware that such actions would lead to a ban. sports.yahoo.com/fortnite-player-jarvis-kaye-banned-111226669.html

I have mixed feelings about this.
1. A lifetime ban is really harsh, considering another player who was caught cheating received a 2-week ban and was allowed to compete in sponsored e-sports events.
2. "I didn't know the repercussions," is a really bad excuse. Hopefully, this is a lesson that your own actions affect other people, even if you don't intend to. It's really important to consider the consequences.
3. For streamers and gamers, this is a livelihood.
4. Epic has a right to protect its brand. The worst thing for any product is for its customers to think they're not getting value. For a competitive game, knowing that the other guy is on a level playing field is paramount.
Hopefully, Epic overturns the ban at some point, and that this kid - he's still a kid - learns from the experience. I don't have much confidence in either of those, but I can hope, right?

I totally agree with the ban. He has a huge following of young kids and they had to send the message its not okay even if was just for "content". It's right in the tos and mostly just common sense...especially seeing as you make your living off it. Dumb mistake from the kid but he'll be fine.
What I don't understand is how being in an org that big that noone stopped him from posting those vids.

The problem I have with this story....
A professional Fortnite player was unaware that such actions would lead to a ban.

He was completely aware. He used an alternate pc with an alternate account and in the video he said numerous times he was going to get banned for this.
Guessing he was hoping they wouldn't ban his main account, or maybe just get warning cause of his following? Not only that his older brother who was also pro was in the background cheering him on. Not their brightest moment.

If he is a cheater his following is based off cheating so I don't feel sorry for him losing money.
That being said a lifetime ban is a little harsh.
PUBG has a ton of problems with cheaters. On Xbox they can use radar and know where everyone is. Clowns.

Doubt there's much of a difference between a lifetime ban and a 3-5 year ban, aside from sounding harsher. I suppose there's a chance Fortnite is still a big thing 5 years down the road, but history dictates the next big thing will have come along and all those professionals will have moved on to whatever gives them the most earning potential.
