I think they are wanting 150 active players each week. So far numbers are 136, 132 and 130 on the PGA so maybe between 15 and 20 ? Is there any motivation to finish this tournament if after 2/3 rounds if you're nowhere within shouting distance of promotion? I'm not quite there yet, if I catch fire in round 3 I could potentially put myself back in the conversation, but anything short of that, there's no chance so I wonder why bother with round 4? I think it's very difficult for us to determine how the algorithm is calculated. Well I'm sure we can all take educated guesses but no one really knows outside of the TGC crew themselves. I'd say finish the round because it is the first (promotional) event of its kind so you never know. It only takes about 25 minutes or so anyways to complete that final round. Unless you are totally cool with not having a chance at moving up. If you're asking if there's any cons to not finishing, then no, there are not. It's as if you never shot a round in the event at all.

I probably will finish it just because I don't like not finishing for the exact reasons you point out, but first & foremost before coming to that decision I wanted to know if there's some penalty that takes the option completely off the table. I'm on Euro and agree with the earlier post that anticipated 15-20 slots. Looking at the scores where 29 people (masters only) are -9 or better through 1 round, I've got to estimate at least -35 if not lower to get top 20. I'm -13 thru 2 so if I step up my game and put up a -10 or better it does put me within reach, but a stinker does take me out of the conversation. I'm not putting any money down on myself to shoot -20 in R4. I've put up a couple stinkers the past couple days so that's probably what brought it to mind hahaha I'll continue to re-assess as scores are posted and depending on what I shoot in R3, things could change, but it's not looking great and I was curious....thanks for the response.

-13 R1, good start.
Now is the time that finding some consistency would help.
Lovely track.

I think they are wanting 150 active players each week. So far numbers are 136, 132 and 130 on the PGA so maybe between 15 and 20 ? So the answer seems to be try to get top 15 in this event to feel secure in getting a PGA card (I would think).
For Euro it would start to be more complicated. Take the average Euro active players. 150 - that number. Now whatever that number is would be however many Euro cards would be handed out, but the caveat is obviously a player already on Euro would be passed on because that is not a move upwards, so the numbers start to get vague the further number of tours you move downward after PGA.
Plus if any of the players promoted to PGA were from Euro, that would open up extra spots in Euro as well. I'm eligible for this event but doubt I'll be playing. Currently 3 for 3 for cuts made on Web but yet to be a threat on the leaderboard. Makes it feel like I'm at the right level since I can post respectable finishes and can likely see a week every now and then where I can compete near the top. If I start getting regular top 10's then I'll feel like it's time to move on.

Just wondering Doyley, Tim, SmilingGoats if there has been (and I've just missed it) or will be an announcement regarding the potential number of spots available in the various tours from this event. (I saw some numbers mentioned in a couple of posts but wasn't sure if they were just guesstimates from the poster or not). If this isn't available / possible, no problem. Thanks for your (and your minions) continued efforts to keep TGCT running smoothly.

I’ve sent an email to the admins asking to be removed from this event as I don’t qualify because of a demotion mark, and that has been done. I don’t remember reading anywhere about qualifications for events, just saying.

This course brings out the best and worst in my game. Completely lost my putting stroke for a couple holes, had a 3 putt followed by a five putt in the 2nd round. FIVE! But made my share of long ones, holed out a shot from the fairway that caught a backstop and came back about 50 feet before going in, and got into a couple zones with my stroke in the final 2 rounds. Ended with -11, -6, -10, -12 which would translate to about 100th on the PGA on any given week. Gonna be interesting to see how many get moved up (including me). Good luck all!

But, I'm pretty sure that other than PGA, the number of slots for each subsequent tour will depend on the number of spots vacated by those moving up, so there's no way to really predict until the results are in.

Sorry bad time to take a vacation! Back tomorrow so I'll clear up any questions then.
That said - it's pretty much impossible to put cutlines on this leaderboard so your best bet is to just play as well as you can and then I'll post a results sheet on Sunday night with all the details.

is there a limit on "fast track up the Tours"? There are a couple low level CC-C, CC-E guys using Masters- and shooting well so far... is it possible to go from CC-E to PGA or Euro with one good tournament?
I'm looking to jump into Pro from CC-A- wanted to make sure it's all of the CC Masters users (and not just CC-A Masters) I'm competing against for open slots in Web or Euro.

Anyone can move up to PGA as long as master club user and scores good enough.

Fu*k that R2 was hard work, high winds, very firm fairways, very firm greens with 187 loaded on top, a paltry -5 and that came with some huge nailed par putts of over 40ft, got lucky.
Still sitting ok after two, but going to need to pick it up in the last two rounds to have a shot at getting back on the top tier.
