Not really the right thread but:
Doyley Can you clarify how the new WGR figures have come about? Nearly everyone dropping a LOT of points - is that simply due to degredation due to the last 7/8 weeks' worth of points (from 65 weeks ago) all coming off in one go (due to us all not playing any events) which seems likely?
Or has there been some kind of re-calculation separate to that?
(Not complaining (since I've gone up 24 spots) - just curious - and asking so my fellow-stat-head @swaeromotion doesn't have to )
EDIT: Just to add further - what are the tour weightings now please? It appears PGA has gone to 1.00 from 0.64? Euro at 0.20? Web 0.0667?

So when I get dropped into CCZ next week there will be accelerated promotions to prevent my sandbagging? #TGCTScrewingtheIrishsince2013 You'd have to do some hard selling to convince me it wasn't a legit placement. Just realised I hadn't played out my rounds haha . #clown. Will submit my +45 this week

Tour Factors: Major, 2 WGC, 1.41 PGA, 1 Euro, 0.2 Web, 0.06666667 CC-A, 0.02 CC-B, 0.015 CC-C, 0.01 CC-D, 0.005, CC-E, 0.0015 CC-F, 0.001 CC-G, 0.0005 CC-Z, 0.00025 As for why the big drop in WGR - I don't have access to the data so not 100% sure - but best guess is that there were a few weeks where some values dropped out of the last 40 weeks. We have a shorter window size than the real life WGR. We haven't touched any of the calculations etc.

Do the WGRs take into account all tours? Or is the ranking system only based on your tour? It must be the former because there are people in the thousands, yet there are only really 200ish people in each tour. Seems like that doesn't make sense either if some people in CC-E are higher than others on the PGA. Thoughts?

The list is everyone who had ever been in TGCT, it's a delicate program nobody wants to need with it.. At least that's my understanding..

The rankings at the end of Season 4 were not reset for the start of Season 5. If a highly rated WGR player (who may previously have been PGA level) had a poor Q-School and qualified at CC-E, that is why you'd see such an anomaly. Eventually the rankings will sort out as we progress further in the season and points from old events decay and are replaced by more recent values. It will take a few weeks before we see some stabilization though.

Are we still required to use Master clubs to qualify for Web.com during promotion events? I only ask because now in CC-A you can get promoted to Web.com using Pro clubs. Thank you!!

If you want to try to get into one of the Pro Tours through the promotional events, you need to use master clubs for all of the rounds. Doyley, am I correct?
