One of the few highlights I've had this week, an eagle from 192 yards that over shot the pin rolled off the green then on again and proceeded right to the hole. That’s been photoshopped I don’t believe it 😜 I wish I had the editing skills to do that 😂. Just a combination of poor shot planning, good shot execution,a dollop of luck and good course sculpting.

11 birdies & 2 bogeys for round 2.... -9 added to my 1st round of -8 for a consistent 17 under at the half way stage. High hopes of scrubbing 1 of my demotion marks - game is so much more enjoyable using Pro clubs on the PC.

It’s enjoyable using Pro Clubs on Xbox but only because you can be more accurate with the iron shots. I’m determined to finish the season off with masters though even if it means I drop down to the C division

What are everyone's thoughts on using a driver off fairway on a long par 5? I have played with 2 ghosts the last 2 weeks that did it. I think it's cheap personally but curious what others think.

I play driver of the fairway you take a hit with power but it’s acceptable, I’ve seen pro’s play it in real life and this game is supposed to try and simulate that so I don’t see a problem with it. If I remember right TGC1 you just couldn’t hit the driver off the fairway as it just seemed to top it and it only travelled about 100 yds. I have driver three wood in my bag and if I have to I will take a chance with the driver to try and reach a particularly long par 5.

How many people carry a two wood in the bag that don’t have one in real life just so they get more of an advantage on the long par 5’s in game.

I do it as well, I think it was one of the pro players that suggested it to me. I don't see any problem with it as most of the time it gives you a harder lie and would hit the same as a 2W.

Wot, we can hit driver (successfully) off the deck now? 248 hours into this game, never realised it was possible Last time I did that was in TST (lotsa times), first tgc game, and that was unintentional My initial knee jerk not carefully thought through reaction is I have no issues if one wants to hit a driver off the deck.

The hard part is to find a lie on fairway near to the 90%. Really often is always something less then 90%, so if you make some count, you realize that is almost everytime better to use your wood. (especially if you have the 2). But the real issue, using driver from the fairway, is that (no counting the distance's control) the first bounce of the ball is really really high and unpredictable. If the first bounce is on a slightly sloped surface, the ball can deviate really too much. And definitely is quite hard to find a green no defended enough to give to this choice a chance. Probably I used this option 2 times in all my "career".

Well over 300 hours before I realised this. Useful when using Pro clubs when you're struggling for distance and the swing gauge is more forgiving when you screw it up!

It is rare that you’ll get a 95-100% lie for the driver off the deck. Most of the time it’s around 85 or less. Also the blue line is barely visible for the swing path haha
Go for it. Just like for the pros, driver off the deck rarely works.

I'm done... Pretty consistent 29 under for the home soil event. 8, 9, 7 & 5 under par with Pro clubs.... that final round of medium winds, firm & fast was tough. Tom ( GrumpyOldMan ) & I are pleased with the mainly positive feedback on the course so thanks to those that left comments & good luck if you're yet to finish up.
