We need to wait for the Swing Tuning update to be implemented and functioning - or confident that it won't come out until after a full Q-School can be completed. Currently we are unsure of either. We're in a hold pattern for the time being. Will announce as soon as we have any more information.

For those unaware - the new Swing Tuning was released for about 3 hours today - some had major issues, others it worked as intended. HB pulled back the changes and are looking into the issues.

I'm confused as to what actually has happened today.
I read posts while at work, that said the swing stuff went in today, and distances were all changed. I went out and practiced, and my distances were all the same, as far as I could tell, only thing that felt different was that the ball didn't seem to roll a country mile on the shorter clubs.
and reading this, it looks like it hasn't been implemented yet. LOL.
not a huge deal, just confused.  |

I'm guessing you were out when it did change for a bit then when it reverted back you started playing.

ahhh.... so it did change, as the posts said, then reverted back? ok, makes sense now. I think. LOL I just went on what the posts of the day said, and started practicing for it after supper, without checking, and just now checked in.

I played after the revert and I swear the roll out on fast/firm was improved (XB1), but probably just in my head!

Hopefully they're just sorting out the bugs that people mentioned, draw/fade marker not showing, weird distances etc., although I'm disappointed I didn't get to try out the fancy new speedfoam 680-yard power wedge  I think the core differences we saw last night are truly amazing for the game long term, particularly the massive limits to loft box dial a distance. The reason I started my no loft box ultra sim society was precisely after realising how well the new game allows distance control through backswing manipulation, so the loft box isn't as necessary as it used to be. Now they've nerfed the hell out of it, this game just made a quantum leap in realism, so I hope that change is here to stay. It'll also shake up the rankings as anybody who was used to adding crazy lofts on long clubs to hit specific numbers will now have no choice but to play clubs at appropriate distance ranges. This also messes things up for me as I now have no choice but to bring my gap wedge back (up to now I've been able to replicate GW distances with the PW through the loft box, that wasn't possible with the changes last night), which now leaves me with fewer options in the 220-250y range, but I'll just have to suck it up, because it's in the best interests of this game long term as a golf sim. Keeping my fingers crossed HB sorts out the bugs soon, honestly really excited about these changes |
