Then we have the story of a man who shot well enough at the start to get to the World Tour. He didn't like it cause he had no true shot at winning there so after a few weeks of poor play, he found himself back on the PGA. He played all season here knowing that he couldn't win a tournament, lest he be promoted immediately back to the world tour. He was good but never quite got that win. Then the admins changed the rules that if a player shot a score that would have put them in the top 20 of the WT, they would get promoted. Of course this player made sure they never crossed that mark as his scores were often just shy of that mark. Finally in the end, once the playoffs started and there would be no more promotions to WT for the rest of the season, this player comes out of no where and WINS their first tournament. This single win propels them to the top of the Fed Ex leaderboard because anyone else that might have accumulated enough points to contend had already been promoted to the WT and couldn't come back to play in the Fed Ex Cup. It was most excellent timing. In the end, the fickle fingers of fate stepped in and our hero fell short of his goal, despite entering the final tournament first place in points but only took third. Still it was quite a moment when in a single tournament a player who had never been in the top ten all year long, wins the only tournament he can't be promoted by four full strokes and a combined stroke total 12 stroke below his average. I like how this game is played and welcome back! The simple fact is that the other gents story doesn't hold up when one asks the question of why? Did I win any tournies in the PGA? No. When I was on the WT did I fall back to the PGA so I could win a trophy? No. Did I almost fall back to the PGA by having 4 strikes in the WT? Yes, multiple times. Did I ever get that fifth strike? No. Can a person play in the WGC or majors if they aren't on the WT? Usually no unless you meet one of the special criteria. Did I make every major, WGC and playoff event? Yes.
Bottom line, what possible reason would I have NOT to be on the WT? The only 'valid' argument the gent can put forth is so that I could win more trophies. If that is the case, then I really suck. Not only did I fail to make it back to the PGA, I failed to win any trophy while I was there! All the other gent's arguments are just as whimsical and full of the same folly one might find in the wizarding world of one Harry Potter! Balderdash to all of this. But welcome back, my good friend from the other side of the pond. Wait, Ron you liked your own post? I thought only t2theb2 does that?

Nah I started on the world tour because of people like you Ron. Had a pretty crappy year, missed cuts in both majors I qualified for. Had one good week, apart from that struggled to make the cut. Form dips like that with everyone, and everyone here knows iโd NEVER lower myself to your level by playing dishonestly.
Never went from shooting 60-64 consistently to shooting 78โs to manipulate which tour I was on, never will. You didnโt get the trophies you planned on because I spotted it and called you out, so you knew eyes were on you.

Sure sure. I'm sure we all believe that. Oh and I'm sure no elite player has ever taken a driver off a green or played speed golf the last two or so rounds because they were so peeved at their previous two rounds.
Oh and I never have, nor never will do or do not do anything because of anything the honourable gent says or does. The honourable gent truly seems full of his own self-importance. It is because of this I'll send the honourable gent an entire case of aluminum foil for this next season, hopefully it will be enough.
I yield back the remainder of my time.

I'll take mine with heavy butter please!
I'll take some cheese please........goes well with the (regular) whines......... When it's all said and done, did any of it even matter in the grand scheme of things? I am having trouble finding any reason to believe any of it matters. "Let the past die" ?? And renew the rivalry in S5, bag or no bag..

Facts donโt care if you beleive them, Ron. The gentleman is out of order and shall suspend or the Sergeant at Arms shall remove him.
In other words. Relax. Have a drink. The next season is starting and lets have fun!

So did you guys like the course or nah? To answer your question, Job (and try, likely in vain, to get this thread back on track), I thought the course was challenging, but fair. Pins were accessible, for the most part, if you thought your way around the course. A few of the pins I felt were borderline but (other than the modified biarritz on the back, blanking out on the hole number), most of those occurred on either reachable par 5s or holes w/ no more than wedge in. The conditions for R1 were absolutely brutal, I was actually pretty pleased w/ -5 & only one bogey that round b/c -- between the winds and very firm conditions -- a lot of defense had to be played. From a playability standpoint, it kind of reminded me of Pebble, in that, I found it best to get out and capitalize the scoring chances early in the round. The course seemed to ramp up in difficulty after the first six or seven holes. Aesthetically, I felt like you nailed the look and the visuals of the course held my interest while I played my four rounds in quick succession. All and all, a fair & fun test of golf that was visually appealing. That's to be expected from a designer of your caliber and you certainly delivered.
