So yeah we all like golf but what other sports do you like and who's your team?
I like watching football (soccer) and I'm a fan of the famous Glasgow Celtic F.C. I've been brought up amongst a football loving family and it's great to attend matches at Celtic Park especially on European nights.

That name rang a bell for me and I wondered why, so done a search on him and it clicked. I used to watch American football back in the 80's as a kid, I was a Bears fan as I had a relation that lived in Chicago and he would send me Bearsden stuff. I remember the old names like Jim McMahon, Jerry Rice, John Elway and Joe Montana. I watched the highlights show which I think was all that you got in the UK in those days.

I haven't done one of these in awhile, so here's a story. About let's say 6 years ago there was a series on Fox that followed the coach of Liverpool around. I hadn't really paid any attention to the Premier League or soccer in general (other than World Cups) up to that point, so it was interesting, especially since I was coaching basketball at the time. It's always insightful to see how coaches in other sports do it. So since then as I've (just barely) followed the league a little more, I will check occasionally and see how Liverpool is doing. I can't name a single player, but I know they play at Anfield, and I know a tiny bit of their history after reading Red or Dead (although a decent amount of this may be fictionalized, I don't know). But that's more or less my intro to non-World Cup soccer, and I might tune into a game on a weekend morning on NBC Sports for 10-20 minutes if I'm in front of the TV. Have to start somewhere, right? Anyways, big NBA League Pass fan, Detroit Pistons are my team. Since I live in Chicago now, I'll tune in to a decent amount of Bulls games too. After that comes Michigan Basketball and Michigan Football (if a football game doesn't include Michigan these days, including NFL, I won't watch it) More casually, I still ride hard for the Detroit Tigers and Red Wings, but don't watch many of their games anymore since I'm in Chicago. I refuse to watch or root for the Cubs, White Sox, or Blackhawks.

This is too confusing since golf isn't my sport or my other sport. So my other sport is probably baseball although I only watch one or two games per season because it's way to boring to watch more than that. My team is the Seattle Mariners.
Now my main sport, which by the definition of this thread would be my other sport since golf is supposed to be my sport would be hockey. My team is not surprisingly the Boston Bruins.
Those are really the only two sports I watch or follow at all, but for sake of clarification I'd say golf is probably around my 5th sport since I've played it but suck at it. 3rd and 4th would probably be, in no particular order basketball and lawn bowling since I've played both and am actually good at both. No favourite teams or players for any of those sports though.

As boffo I'd say golf isn't my main sport. At least not In terms of being a fan watching. I rarely watch anything golf related on tv. I play golf the most of any sport though so maybe it is my sport. I don't know. Main sport for me would be football (soccer) or hockey. Malmö FF is my team here in Sweden as I've lived in the area for most of my life. I also follow and watch quite a bit of the premier league and as a kid Gianfranco Zola was my idol so Chelsea became my favorite team. Can't say I'm sad that Conte is gone from the team.. When it comes to hockey I don't cheer for any team in Sweden. Nor do I watch any of it. NHL all the way. I can cheer for many teams if I like how they play. Last year I enjoyed watching Vegas, Florida and Calgary a lot but I would only call me a fan of Toronto. Why? Not sure to be honest. I've met both Börje Salming and Mats Sundin a couple of times so there is that. As a kid I played in Djurgården (same as Sundin) so I guess there is a bit of a connection at least. Often in sports I find myself more a fan of players than teams and I can root for them wherever they play. Peter Forsberg was my biggest childhood hero so I've rooted for a lot of teams in the NHL at one point or another. Except the Flyers obviously

Pretty much any Sport that have a national team(Sweden) and play in any kind of championship, but mainly Soccer, hockey and handball Or solo sports if there is a Swedish athlete doing well, with Formula 1 as an exception since i watch that only to see if Ericsson can avoid last place... Apart from that, what i watch the most by far is MMA (UFC) as its on pretty much every weekend, think it can still be called a sport even tho matchmaking isnt always merit based anymore.

I will happily watch most sports but I have 4 I watch as much as I possibly can of. Probably in order, football, NFL, golf and cricket. I don't have a club side with cricket really, (maybe affiliate myself with Somerset if anybody) I just watch England, and obviously that's N/A with golf.
So basically I support 2 teams and have done through thick and thin since the early 80's. I think you can tell who my football team is! Been going since 1984 when we were in the old 4th division, missed out on the glory years of the old 1st division in the late 70's. Had some good times and some miserable ones, wouldn't change a thing! Going to the Blackburn game on Sunday, 46 years old and I still get excited!
But even before that, I lived in the States as a kid from 80-83 and enjoyed all your sports, but especially American Football. I remember sitting there as an 8 year old one Sunday afternoon watching the Miami Dolphins beat the then St Louis Cardinals 20-7 in St Louis, Don Strock and the Killer Bee Defense and all, and a love affair was born! Luckily when we got back in 83 was when it started on telly over here, been some good times and some miserable ones, and I wouldn't change a thing! Great we get games in London to go to now, I've been a regular!
By the way FRSTDWN, my first Superbowl was that famous upset when Jim Plunkett and the Raiders beat the hot favourite Eagles, I always loved a good underdog! I can still picture that 80yd screen pass!
So yeah, Bristol City and the Miami Dolphins. I didn't say I choose wisely......

Matchmaking in ufc is based on one factor, what makes Dana white the most money. So you end up with 1 dimensional knock out merchants like ngannou getting undeserved shots
