player clubs is the answer. Not sure how many times I’ve said this to people. You can still shoot low with them without the cone issues You can shoot low with Standard clubs if you adjust your game to accommodate the run out. The short game and putting seems to be identical between all three sets and that ultimately is what separates the good from the not so good players. This is exactly how I feel. To me there is a massive tradeoff in accuracy for length when you switch up to the player clubs and even more in the tour clubs. Standard clubs are very accurate and it all comes down to how straight you can hit player clubs compared to standard. On an average course the length of the player clubs will probably save about 3-5 shots per round by reaching par 5's or long par 4's much easier. However, when compared to the standard clubs, approach shots being much less accurate with player clubs, you might also lose 3-5 shots in extra putts or chips from being not next to the pin. So what I recommend is to play a course twice with each set of clubs and see what your lowest scores are. For me I feel the player clubs give enough length for par 5's while keeping enough accuracy to save me some shots, but this is all dependent on each course as some need more length and some need more accuracy.
