What about Pasatiempo...Cypress Point... Shoreacres...Cabot...Royal County Down...Shinnecock...Fisher's island...Kingston Heath...Seminole...Wade Hampton...? Or are you going for more obscure courses?

This and Invicta would take precedence as my main competitions I’d be interested in this sounds like fun

And would there be courses from all over the world? Right now it would be US-only, because that is how my list shaked out. The only international course that immediately came to mind, and again I am talking non-Tour, non-Major courses for the most part, plus Yeltzman has already knocked out most of the UK greats anyways, was Royal County Down. It felt out of place with all of the US courses, so I am sticking with US-only for now I think. But, that leaves open the possibility of a 2019 part two contest, with world courses only and no US courses. Natural sequel! I am going to keep rolling out my 16 courses like I did for the first matchup, so folks can get an idea of the courses. The final list is something I would probably hammer out over the next few weeks based on feedback.

If you have a MacDonald/Raynor/Banks match up I would nominate Yale since the site is so unique that even with template holes it has such a different feel from their other courses.

Yale, Camargo and Black Creek. I'm pretty sure that something along these lines will be in the choices. I hope so anyway.

3rd Matchup: California (Central Coast Edition)Some real heavyweights here. Course 1: Monterey Peninsula Country Club (Shore Course, Dunes Course, or parts of both)www.mpccpb.org/default.aspx?p=dynamicmodule&pageid=401893&ssid=328573&vnf=1Course 2: Pasatiempowww.golftripper.com/pasatiempo-golf-club-2/AlternativesThere are a number of alternatives in the Central Coast area, and probably my prime candidate would be San Francisco Golf Club. The other obvious one that screams out is Cypress Point, but I feel like without the right tools/trees, that is an impossible standard to live up to. The other prime candidate in the area is Cal Club, which I have my eye on, but would certainly give up to a dedicated designer. Under the right persuasion, I could see doing a second Central Coast edition, rather than the upcoming 4th matchup. Would be a tough fight, though.

Great idea here. Don't know whether I'd be able to participate, but I'm practically salivating over the possible courses that could come out of this.
Sand Hills was my inspiration for Doubtful Dunes -- I think the course itself was good, but I didn't quite capture the look (i.e., the ruggedness and long grasses) of the real thing. Would love to see a take on it done by someone with a better eye for planting and aesthetics.
