I think "mapping" as the gentlemen with the complaint calls it is just compiling information on the course for use in tourneys - "Don't hit driver on 3", "Stay left of pin on #6".. that kind of stuff. I hope that's not cheating..I do that all the time. I got a whole booklet with Q-School info..

Big problem with this format (cross platform pc/ps4/xb1) all the let me say less skilled and more (mappers) get together and it makes the scoreboard look like a joke, i have been here before some guys shoot torneys at relay low scores, but when you play them man to man as such you would think you were playing the wrong guy because they play like nubs on courses they don't map, mapping courses is to me as bad as using a moded controller it's a form of cheating IMHO ALSO THEY ONLY PLAY WHEN THE WIND IS IN THERE FAVOUR another form of cheating, so don't class all the top scores as being legitimate it never will be unless we all play with the same wind direction, and i know what ur going to say "real life golf the wind changes" and your right but in real life tournament you cant runaway from a game because the wind doesn't suit you. Yes i know there is a few that can shoot relay low but as it stands too many guys are doing it the easy way and only playing if 1. they have mapped the course and 2. only play when it suits them and and 3. if you put in the mix a modded controller here we are. I think it goes without saying that no one is forcing you to play in a tour you don't enjoy. I will say that we won't tolerate people accusing others of cheating without evidence (via ghost ball). Mapping out courses and playing when the wind is in your favour are not considered cheating by TGC Tours. "Mapping out courses and playing when the wind is in your favour are not considered cheating by TGC Tours." That's a shame a lot of guys don't have the time to map courses and wait hours for wind to change? some of us have jobs and only have maybe an hour or so to play TGC per day, would be funny to watch PGA tours if players refused to play if the wind wasn't in their favour?. may be an idea if you generated a course on the day of the tour and just have say 24h to play it? just a thought on maybe levelling the playing field.

Which is what all pros/caddies do in RL I don't see many PGA pros shooting -52 HOLD ON i don't see any PGA pros doing that

There's a reason this site lets you track practice rounds.

What I find curious is the players who have the slightest of deviation to their swing on Tees shots, approach shots are 50% dead straight and virtually all putts of 10 or more feet are perfectly straight. Just did a ghost ball of one player on Vale and witnessed this, what sucks is that I managed to shoot -14........where was that yesterday when I needed it?

I also keep "notes" on courses that are key (like q school). How to play a hole (3 shot par 5), Where to leave it on the greens (safe vs sloped). Is long better here or short? Affect of downhill in different wind conditions. That is just course experience, and it does help, but does not make me good (from mediocre) in and off itself.
As far as waiting for "wind" to be ideal, the wind in the new update moves around enough (up and down) even during a round that I dont think it affects that much. If you can putt it is a 15-20 footer vs a 10 footer. I like to get "warmed up" with rounds outside the tourney. Once I feel good, 9-18 holes in, then I go and play the tourney. It is much (much) more about good ball striking for me to score low than it is wind. I would much rather be hitting it straight and have 15 MPH than be even a little "loose" with 4 MPH. (IMO)

OIC the tours are just designed for the pros who map courses that's fine, i thought this game was designed for the "weekend game with your mates" not just for people who have lots of spare time so they can map courses no wonder there's only a few hundred playing the tours, i will stick to playing this game with friends and keeping it real, i like to play my golf by feel and touch rather then from a map and a calculator have fun guys.

For some people "the weekend game with your mates" does involve what some would consider over the top course management. I know when I play in real life I like to think about where I'm landing my ball and how I'm going to get it there, my game has improved out of sight because of it. Was a 25 marker 8 months ago, now play off 14. Doing it on the sim I don't go into the depth I do in real life but I definitely have the same mind set, a few notes here and there on certain holes and that's all I need, it doesn't help me shoot -15 in a round but it helps me not make bad decisions which could cost me 2-3 strokes.
