feel sorry for you buddy. that's the sort of thing that happens to me on Copper Creek. i could be going along at -3 and then it all falls apart even if im enjoying the course at that moment.

nice!
even if im going at -2 or -3 during a round then something always happens and that gets very frustrating.

It's a bear.

One thing I worry about..I've been getting low winds practicing these courses that I fear the wind God's will throw me some doozies when the time comes when they count for real.

Does high winds effect straightness with the driver? What I mean is normally ill hit a driver, straight, and let the wind do what it does. With high winds, 20+, I always miss my cone and pull it. Maybe it's psychological?

maybe psychological especially when it comes to the narrower fairways. i am definitely the same as you when it comes to this. Anything up to 10mph i can manage but anything higher and it puts a bit of doubt into my mind.

Maybe go with the 3-wood or 5-wood. At least we have lots of time to practice.

Luckily with my 72 on Mt Yeti (17-19mph winds) my driving was actually really good with the majority of the holes playing with the wind across me so good driving was essential.

I hate to say I hate a course but I hate Son Gual . From someone who doesn't always hit straight, it's hard - very very hard. Wendy, why did you do this to me Those first few holes just kick my ass..

Just shot 70 (-1) on Copper Creek National (9-10mph winds)
One of my best rounds purely because i stuck at it and never let it get away from me. On the Par 4 9th i hit it into a bunker so it was plugged then i hit out only about 70 yards, so maybe this is where it goes downhill but no, i holed out from the fairway for a birdie. I also hit a few nice approach shots including one from the bunker on 18 (which i found off the tee).

After Copper Creek i shot 75 on Son Gual and i feel the same as you Mitch.
I holed out from the desert on the 11th and that was my only birdie.
(8mph winds)
