As much as i suck at the moment with Tour clubs i do enjoy the challenge now. That's mainly due to external reasons but once i find the groove i'm guessing it will be even more fun.

So here goes. New guy here on TGCTours. I use player clubs. The way I see it, if someone dominates me using tour clubs, they deserve to beat my score, win, etc. Means that they put a boatload of time into perfecting the use of those clubs. I in turn have spent a lot of time become fairly competent using player clubs. Eventually, I'd like to move up to tour clubs. If I beat others using tour clubs, there shouldn't be any need for my choice of clubs and my game to be trashed. Those who use player clubs shouldn't be labeled as disrespecting the game or going the easy way out or whatever. This is a game. What we've signed up for here at TGCTours is nothing short of amazing, given the fact that players aren't required to pay one red cent. I'm thrilled to be on what seems like the best level of players on the CC field. (Currently CC-A, so I assume that B,C,D etc are all players that didn't fare as well in Q-School) I'm still finding my way but just want to have a great time with a bunch of fellow video golf fans. I've read the viewpoints of those who believe that the game has been nerfed to an extent to allow players of all abilities to play on the professional tours. What do I think? Prove yourself with tour clubs and you'll have nothing to worry about regarding those who use player or standard clubs. I welcome anyone that wishes to respond to me but I'll just ignore those who can't communicate like normal human beings. To me, and just my opinion as an original member and barely top 150-200 WGR plyr. You are just kinda proving my point. You are CC A player clubs should be allowed all the way up to Web and stop, leaving EURO and both PGA'S for tour clubs only. To me my experience by the time you reach Web then all way to Euro if you wanna advance, by then you should be able to handle tour clubs. This coming from some1 who only plays about 6 rounds a week. Euro tour plyr. Hi Elk22: I can completely understand that perspective.

There’s some debate, no doubt about that and people feel very passionate about it, no doubt too. You could go on forever with the points from both sides but after playing both sets extensively, IMO players are so much easier to a) stay out of trouble b) recover when you’re in trouble from either the sand or rough c) play with absolute precision and confidence in your swing from albeit slightly further out. The extra distance is a big benefit with tour clubs, if you can keep them straight and in tempo and some people say they spin more and I’m honestly not noticing anything different in that regard. The two main difficulties for me with them are anything but perfect perfect tempo and you’re short of your intended target and you’re literally a fine margin away from disaster with every shot. Personally I enjoy the added challenge of the tour clubs, and as that’s what I’m playing for, the challenge, I feel like it should be as challenging as possible on the pro tours. I’ve no beef with standard club players and I get regularly thumped by friends using them. Put Tours in our hands though and I’m on top more than not. I think the very best players in the world would all fare better with Tours, they’re that good, but drop back to WGR 100-500 or so and I think players will more than compete with Tours... interesting times ahead. I’m intrigued. The decision is likely to never effect me personally, but I’m intrigued all the same. Great points. Without question, I plan on giving tour clubs a go quite soon. Not without some practice though

If I went back to player clubs I'd miss the extra length I get.

I did a test against my buddy. He played player, I played tour. He hit more fairways than me but I gained strokes on him tee-to-green still.
Long-story short: when we got to the green I was having shorter putts more often than he was.
However, I realise that this isn't a fair comparison as he has diff skill to me. The best comparison would be comparing to myself. Which I will do at one point...in the meantime, everyone has different skill re: ball-striking as they do re: putting. Don't let those bad ball strikers suffer by limiting the choice of clubs. It's a terrific decision by TGCT to re-open the clubs up to everyone. Just wish they would do it on the Rocher Tour...

Had 1 swing not come up the yardage that I thought due to tempo... what do you reckon my scores were like? Just in my 3rd round in our county semi now. You know my usual scores, and against our crew on that track. I’ll let you decide what’s easier for “the lesser player” mate. There can be a lot of variables but you know I’m average at best.

The average ball-striker will be better with player clubs of course - the way it's supposed to be. The poor ball striker will be better with standard and the better with tour.

I'm still getting some random "outside of cone" results that are inconsistent.
I would normally say it's me but I have improved a lot in regards to inside conage (yes it's a made up word) so I feel there are still cases of lag etc

There can be a lot of variables but you know I’m average at best. Player clubs are better for you. It doesn't make them better for everyone. There are lots of players that can take advantage of the distance and spin. Another factor is the course. Some courses offer distinct advantages to certain club sets. This week, for example, the WT is playing Merion, a short, narrow test of accuracy. There's not much to be gained by distance there. The point of reshuffling the tours is to create tighter fields. Allowing player clubs will also result in closer fields. You aren't at a competitive disadvantage though. The disadvantage is perceived but not actually realized. There's an advantage to be gained by using Tour clubs too.

I had written to commish about strikes at end of season 3 requesting to be carried over. Are they going to be cleared anyway? Because I haven't heard anything back. Just don't want any surprises when season 4 starts. First time post, in my realm, wagtunes, if you continue it proves this statement to be true and I will ask if there is a way to tune out wagtunes on the forums. nar·cis·sist ˈnärsəsəst/Submit noun a person who has an excessive interest in or admiration of themselves. "narcissists who think the world revolves around them"
