What kind of controller would not install on your PC? I have installed an MS 360 wired and wireless, PS4 wireless, Xbox One standard wireless, and Xbox One Elite wireless on Windows 10. I can't imagine any legitimate controller not installing on any recent PC using either Windows 7 or 10...... When it comes to technology, I can screw up anything. All I know is I plugged it in and Windows started looking for the driver and couldn't find it and it wouldn't install. I suspect I know what the problem is after getting a new XBox 1 and having the same problem but I'd already returned it and I'm not getting another one in case I'm wrong. did you buy the adapter?...they won't work without it

The guy in the store told me exactly what to do. I followed the instructions and then even had somebody from the store walk me through it over the phone when I called and it wouldn't work. Quickly, I suspect the problem was an Internet connection problem. When I tried installing the XBox 1, I got the same message and for whatever reason I decided to check some settings and it seems that the site the Xbox controller had to connect to in order to download the driver was blocked. Don't ask me why, but I unblocked it and then the XBox 1 worked. I suspect if I were to get another XBox Elite it would work this time, but at $100, I really don't want to take the chance because I don't think they'll let me return yet another one.

Then why are you complaining about a swing that you can't even be bothered to get a working gamepad for?

If you can get an XBox Elite for 100 bucks....buy me a few. They're close to 300 up here after tax

Maybe one day I'll give it one more shot.

Just bought another Elite here strictly for the PC as I was using my Xbox One Elite controller (just replaced after 2 years for free by MS). Yeah, it is expensive, but best damn controller I have ever used.

Was just wondering if he tried to use it wireless and didn't have the adapter thus the reason why his computer didn't recognize it. It's plug and play...I can't imagine anyone having an issue and I agree on the XBox Elite. Best money I ever spent on any gaming component

I'd much rather play in CC-wagtunes than pay that kind of money to improve my chances of moving up.

Join me with the rest of the losers. lol For now I'm hanging in there on Web with a standard PS4 controller that won't hit the ball close to straight even with player clubs. A controller that is 10 months old. The thought of spending $60-300 on a new controller for a chance to perform better in a for fun internet golf league that uses a $50 game just sounds insane to me. I could get some where between 3 and 15 new games for that money.

I looked at it this way 1000 + for the PC 500 + for memory and video card and other upgrades to play games 500 for a new monitor 350 for a gaming chair then I would spend 40 bucks for a controller and complain it was trash and didn't work. The investment for gaming was made but I wasn't making the investment in order to enjoy the computer and the games I buy to the fullest because I was cheaping out on one of the most important pieces. It would be like spending thousands of dollars on a car to make it pristine and show car quality and then putting wheels and tires you bought at a garage sale on it.

But a $60 or $70 standard XB or PS controller would be like putting stock wheels and tires on it. A $300 controller is like putting racing slicks on it along with spinny rims with a dollar sign on them. And whitewalls.
